1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How many of the same molds will you get?

Jul 6, 2011

    1. The only reason I'd get more than one of the same doll is if I had characters that were twins

    2. I don't have any desire to get two dolls of the same mold. It would make sense for me if I were to do twins, but I just don't have a desire to do that at this time.

    3. I want to get two dolls of the same mold, so they will be twins, in the future <3

actually, my plan is buying them right after I finish my four present dolls (three of them are off getting faceups, and one is waiting for a body, clothes, faceup... well everything but head, eyes, and hair ^^").

They will be completely identical... I wouldn't buy two or more of the same mold for other reasons, though, even if I loved it very much :)

    4. I loved one sculpt so much I got 4 of 'em, one in each color. Granted, then I eventually realized that was way too many and I sold two of them.

    5. I love the idea of twin dolls, although the opportunity hasn't arisen yet. More than that and I think it'd start feeling like doppelganger central.

    6. Generally I do not buy more of the same sculpts. I like having variety. But I have two 70cm Dollzone Yuus and two Volks SD13 Links. Their characters are all very different. They are not twins, or even related to each other (though one of the Links is the older brother to one of the Yuus).

My first Volks Link (Hiro, a snarky teenager) sometimes played another character called Trevor, who I made up as a joke to be my matter-of-fact therapist. I bought a second Link head years later to have as a backup for Hiro, when Volks discontinued the sculpt, but instead he became Trevor himself and is his own man now.

My first Dollzone Yuu, Akone (in tan) is a very kind and protective character, and I loved him so much that I wanted another Yuu! I held off buying a Yuu for years, because I was afraid he was too tall for my resin family. Even after I got my first one, I couldn't stop looking for the sculpt on DoA, and finally bought a second one in normal resin. He is the complete opposite of Akone. Duke is younger and more irresponsible, a little thoughtless and shallow. Trevor is his older brother.

My Yuu-2 and Yuu. Not related!

Yuu is the first BJD I ever had where I actively wanted more of the same sculpt! I have to force myself to NOT buy more of them. I would have more if I had the money and the space!

Five of my BJDs have alternate heads with the same faceups but different expressions (like a sleep head), but I consider them to be part of the same doll instead of dolls on their own. The alternate heads do not have their own bodies.

    7. I once fantasized about getting dolls that were *only* one sculpt and then challenging myself to make them all look as different as possible. Kind of a fun idea, but I think I want a little more variety than that!

    8. I would get the same molds of Batchix's dolls in all the different colors if I could afford it. Also, since I love modding my Doll Chateau Ada, I'd love to have more so that I can have an army of weird little mooseys lol

    9. I have a set of twins now, but one is the sleeping version.

I'd love to have the tanned version of my Limhwa Mono.

If I participate in the Doll Family H Winter Event (which I'm seriously eyeing), I may wind up with a 45cm Linfeng, who'll come with a tan version of his head that I'd likely turn into a twin.

    10. Linfeng twins, I hope you'll go for it robots&things, as I'd love to see them!

I was fantasizing about Linfengs in all sizes but this will have to stay a dream. I'm having too much of a hard time already to resist Unoa B-El and L-Bi boys, and also Dollmore's Kasi Dan Sleeping version will not stay the only one :love.

    11. I've just discovered I cannot bring myself to buy the same mold. Even with a different colour skin.
So any future doll will have to be perfect/exactly as I wish it to be for me to part with any money.

    12. Only if their twins, or half split personality/ different forms :XD: My main boy might have 3-4...maybe not sure yet .

    13. I would consider getting multiples of the same mood if I really loved it, but they'd probably be in different resin colours. I currently have two Naraes, but they are different resin colours and have very different face ups. I also have two Layla sculpts by Kaye Wiggs, but one is human, and the other an elf, and both have different resin colours. I wouldn't mind a second version of some of my smaller dolls.

    14. I have two tan Ringdoll Sols, they are twins. I have 3 Dollshe Saints, two are twins but not identical, different resin color, hair, eyes etc., they don't look alike at all. The other pale tan Saint is an earthly avatar/alter ego of a demon (Dollshe Hound) who share the same body.
Would I buy more? If I could afford to yes. I would like to have some pale resin Sols running around and no one can have to many Saints but I do have space issues too.
So that is probably all I'll have - I ain't getting any younger.

    15. I can see why some people would want multiples, but I love variety too much to do so myself. And it would kinda bother me after a while to look at the two dolls with the exact same face.

    16. I will buy second MNF Celine in tan, because i like this mold. And, maybe 2 Isar. Finally, i think even the same mold with a same "make up" have them own individual character

    17. I would probably only get two of the same sculpt. If making twins I usually prefer finding similar sculpts and painting them to look as similar as I can. If they're the same sculpt they come out looking awkward to me. Though I have seen people pull it off magnificently.

    18. I may buy one or two of the same mold because I really like twins, and sometimes doing different face-up for them can fit different scenarios when taking pictures. But it is hard to find just the faceplate/head since some companies do not sell them seperately...

    19. I have 13 ShiWoos of different sizes. 4 SD, 7MSD, 1YoSD, 1 Tiny.

    20. I'd really like more luts sculps. I'm not sure why I like that brand so much, but I love their faces and features.
