1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How many of the same molds will you get?

Jul 6, 2011

    1. I would get only one, I like different dolls and characters. I like some companies better than others so I would buy more than one doll from the same company.

    2. I think the most I would get is "triplets" or 3 of the same doll. It is fun to see pictures where there are way more than 3 though, especially when some of them are painted or styled differently.

    3. I have my set of Bobobie twins on the way (an Espree and a Sprite - same face sculpt with different ears) and my Resinsoul sisters (a Mei and a Fei - Fei is the closed eyes version of Mei.) They aren't identical, but they look pretty close and make good siblings. I like the sculpts a lot, so I thought it would be fun to have more than one as long as they were a little different.

    4. I don't plan on getting more than one of a sculpt, mostly because I'm new to the hobby, and I don't have space for a big doll family. I may in the future though. I've already broken two of my rules already so who knows, may get two of the same sculpt later LOL

    5. Unless I want twins or buy a 2nd specifically for reselling or gifting, I don't think I'd buy more than one of a sculpt. If something were to happen to the first one; however, I'd consider buying a replacement.

    6. Considering the sheer amount of multiples I have amongst my characters... I will most certainly end up with more than one of some sculpts, if I feel they're right and I actually want to doll-ify those characters.

    7. I have two Ninodoll Badas who are twins (though they wear different styles and have different faceups, they are twins in their story). And I do have a K-Doll Karon and Kamyu (which is the same sculpt but Kamyu is closed eye) and I hope to get another Karon to be the Kamyu's open eye head eventually...and they are brother and sister...but that's the extent of the amount of same sculpts I want for myself. I love Migidoll Jinas and I have one and have been tempted so many times to buy a second one but I can't ever commit to having another one.

I do love seeing what others do with multiple sculpts though!

    8. Heh. The last time I posted on this thread I had my sixth Chiwoo on the way. I am up to eight of them, now. There are also the three K-Doll Karons I didn't have back then. Still just the five Soo, though.

    9. The only duplicate I'd consider is getting an SD tan El, as I already have a MNF El in tan. Otherwise, I'd rather get different sculpts for my brood - there's no one mold that calls to me that I love above all others. Companies, yes (Luts, I'm looking at you) but no one specific doll.

That may someday change... I'm a notorious marshmallow for these little demons.

    10. One of each. No matter how much I may love a particular sculpt, I'm prone to having a favorite and neglecting the rest so it wouldn't be a smart purchase for me.

    11. The most I would get is 2 to use for twins or different personalities of the same character (like good or evil).

    12. I've had all sizes of the FL Chloe mold, but have to say that I don't think doing something like it again...I prefere to see different faces ^^

    13. I've got a couple of the same head mould to switch off for different looks for the same character, but I can't see buying two complete dolls of the same sculpt. Identical twin characters aren't really for me in general.

    14. I wouldn't buy two of the same sculpts, just because I like to have different dolls. Every doll has it's own personality and I don't think I would be able to do that if I had two of the same sculpts

    15. Hmm.. Considering my tastes shifted I'll have to say no more than two currently and I'm not willing to be a repeat offender of having multiples. Right now I have two minifee shushus. One is an NS girl and the other is a tan, SP mod boy so they don't share many similarities yet I still feel like it's stressing it a little.

    16. I don't think I'd ever want to get more than one of the same mold. I'd like variety in my doll family. Who knows though, maybe I find a mold I really like and want multiple of.

    17. I have three of one mold right now and I'm trying to decide whether to sell one or not. Two are meant to be "twins," but the other is completely unrelated and I don't like that they are all the same sculpt. Indecisive...

    18. I have two Fairyland sd Mirwen and I want to buy minifee Mirwen in the future. I also have two pukipuki Ante, one pukifee Ante and I still want to buy Litlefee Ante and minifee Ante. When they get different face up, wig, and cloths they look different to me.

    19. I love the idea of having more dolls of the same sculpt^^, in fact I have them: have 2 Bluefairy Sarang (normal and white color), I have 2 Volks 2 Mamu, 2 IrrealDoll Enyo and I am planning to get a Volks MSD F34 in normal skin color to be the twin sister of my white color girl^^, and I do not even would mind to have more of them, in different colors too *____*.

I have owned much more doubles but I ended up selling one of them to get another doll that I wanted^^, for example I have owned 2 Volks Elena, 2 Volks MSD F20, 2 Leeke Mikhaila, 2 Volks DD Saber, Volks SD Kun and 2 Volks F01, the ones I remember right now, but maybe more XDDD. I think even the same sculpt could look so different depending on the customization that it really does not mater if you have 2 or more of them^^.

Sometimes I just thought it is ok to have the mold once and I do not need two of them as a pretext to buy more things I need, like eyes, wigs, clothes or a the new doll XDD. This is the case now for my MNF Ante, I have now two of them and I am selling one of them now in order to buy other things I need^^.

I would love to own more doble girls, but sometimes I have to decide if I get a new girl or more of the same sculpt, this is difficult if you adore that mold you already have ;)

    20. Some of the dolls I like by default are the same mold, such as Dollmore's Catish girls. I've ordered one of the newer molds as she's the only one with the new sleepy eyes, but I could definitely have a few of the other girls (the only differences with them is resin colour, face ups and outfits etc). I would also love to get hold of another DC Barbara and have a go at painting her in a style of my design. TBH I'd love an other Leeke Art Body Kiko too, but in WS with a default face-up, I love that sculpt to pieces!
