How many of the same molds will you get?

Dollshe's Bernard. I'm embarrassed to say how many I actually have/will have when Dollshe ships the heads I ordered during their 18M discontinuation sale.

 

I have many multiples in The Horde. Some are styled to be similar, some very different. My guilty pleasure sculpt, however, is Chiwoo! I have eight now and always have an eye out for the next. I also have five Soo, but most are different types (two DES, one mnf DES, one AES, one Sleep)

 

I have 2 Miro Wind dolls, 2 Miro Annie dolls and both male and female versions of Miro Iris. Other than that my dolls are all different and I mostly like it that way. I only planned on having 1 of each of those Miro dolls at first but then I saw Wind in a different color used and she looked great and I thought "sister" and then I saw Annie with WS skin and she looked so interesting I decided to get my green one a sister. Miro actually makes their Iris/Orlando doll head for use on both a male and female body as siblings and the idea of twins did intrigue me so I ended up going there. When I have two of a sculpt it's usually meant to be as a sibling thing but usually those dolls they're not hugely expensive. I'm not doing it with more expensive dolls even though I love them too. Most of my dolls I like the different unique faces....

 

fairyland ante. i have her in every size from pukipuki to minifee and multiples in the pkf and ltf size. i'm just waiting for her to come out in the realfees so i can get a complete set even though i have multiples, all of mine have custom face ups and several are in different skin tones so they are all unique. most of the time they don't seem much more alike to me than two different sculpts from the same company. i just got them because i had another idea of something i really wanted to do with that sculpt and didn't want to wipe a face i already loved, so had to buy a second (or third). i do tend to think of dolls of the same sculpt as being siblings or cousins though.

 

I won't torture you @ATYL for a number of Bernard heads. Although I am curious.

@sailorchiron if there is a sleeping Soo I am sure someone knows and if they see this post they will give you a shout out.

@magkelly I understand the siblings and trying not to buy multiples of the more expensive sculpts.

I think I would love a couple of IH EID Carina just because I see so many different ways you could do her face up and body and change her. I love 5th Motif Venitu to the point that I might could Hoard him... or maybe just two and make one a female like someone *coughs* keeps pressing me to do. And then there is Dollshe Craft Saint... I don't know what it is.... sometimes I swear I don't like that sculpt but I keep getting drawn back to it and now the muses want 1 full doll and a second head for it.

*walks off in search of a money tree*

 

@auntbear I actually think having them in different sizes and with different faceups is really neat. I can see not wanting to destroy or wie off a beloved faceup.

 

I love collections like that! I was surprised to like the MNF Ante, I wondered how they'd make such a cute sculpt more mature, but they did it without ruining her sweet look.

 

i don't think i would but then again the Yo-SD isao nanjou is on my wish list and i realize that's also kinda what this thread is talking about. ahhh i want that doll so bad!

 

Yes, there certainly was a sleeping Soo! I have one, though mine had her eyes modded open before I got her. It was paired with the Soo Special head that had a closed mouth. You can see her old photos at Luts here!

@TegansMuse i'm using him for my "reenactment" photo project... and when dollshe had their sale and making it sound like they're discontinuing the sculpts period, not just making new system for them, I decided to get more - to replace the ones with face up done by other people that I don't want to wipe. so yeah... many. still have to make/cast head stands for them too.

actually, while I'm confessing , I have other multiples... granado's Venus, for example. and Zaoll Muse (altho hers is more for expressions vs. characters).

I SO could've hoarded Venitu, and Mirwen. oh and Dia.

 

I look at Venitu and I so could hoard him. I don't know why. Probably Dia too... darn it I need a body for that head. Glad you didn't hoard those two.

 

I am a sucker for twins and considering getting a twin sister for my Iplehouse Lisa (grey skin) but in a different skin tone.I'll be working on a story about twins from different worlds.
Also I'm tempted to get a sister for my little B.I.D Iplehouse Elin ,but maybe with K.I.D.'s body and make her look not as gentle as my little cutie Elin....but there are so many molds I wish to get maybe I just have to stop here

This funny lovely sculpt makes me smile
Now I have 5 heads, one of them being kept with no make up to enjoy the sculpt. I'm almost satisfying so I'm not sad IH discontinued the sculpt. If I have a chance I'd like to get ebony one, though.

 

me too - thank the muses for that LOL - one sculpt I could never have enough is quite enough.

depends on what colors (and options) are available! But for the exact same skintone and ear/eye/etc options, pbb my max is 2.

 

I think I'd definitely get 2 of the same body for a doll, but heads I don't think I could do. Unless I modded the eyes on one head, then I could get duplicates.

 

For a minute I thought you were going to say you were considering getting a twin sister... like for yourself. Which could be cool.

 

The idea of buying the same sculpt again doesn't really appeal to me. I like having a variety facial structure in my collection because it makes each doll look more unique. I know a lot of people take the same sculpt and do a 360, but I would much rather purchase new sculpt than buy the same one I've already established as a certain character.

 

A childhood full of Barbies and American Girls basically made me dislike same-face. So if I ever end up getting a doll from the same line, it won't have the same face mold. I know that the right faceup can make a doll look completely different, but it would still bug me.
