How many of the same molds will you get?

Technically I have the same sculpt twice, just with different ears XD and I love how different they can look!



And I am somewhat weirdly obsessed with twins... so I have my first set of those too, and will likely have more in the future XD

 

The most I have had of the same sculpt is two Dollstown Elysia's. They looked very different from each other and were in different resin colors. Now I just have one, had to sell one to help pay for my daughters school. Twins are fun.

I can't find the name of the company, but there was this limited edition head buuuuuut it was for a great price. I was using it as reference very often for a character I draw but I really wanted to put it on a doll, but I use it for reference on my desk. I wish I had gotten two, for sure.

 

I would be happy to have a duplicate of a particular sculpt for the purpose of portraying sisters or twins, but outside of that I haven't really found any particular sculpt that I like enough to compel me to collect multiple copies!

 

I don't think having more than one of the same particular sculpt is crazy. I also agree that one particular sculpt can have an almost infintite amount of looks.

As for my dolly collection, I somehow ended buying 3 iplehouse SID Stellas -well...four if you count JID Violet. I have one Stella in peach gold, one in light brown, and one vampire Stella in light brown.

Each Stella has a different story and a personality that I love.

 

There are certain sculpts I have come across that just seem so versatile to me and I get so many very different ideas for them, that I feel I need an army of them to create all the versions that come to me. XD Kinda how I feel about Pukipuki Pukisha right now. I couldn't help but wonder if there are others out there who go through the same thing? Perhaps for different reasons. I know some people who get multiples of the same sculpt simply because they like that sculpt.

While not quite the same, I would love to get my hands on all the Delf Soo Elves. I have both a Dark Elf Soo and and Angel Elf Soo, just need a Vampire one now!

And while not an army, I do want a third Elfdoll Catsy. I would not mind a tiny army of them.

 

I used to feel that way about Dollzone Mo, and I have owned four of them (two SD, one MSD, one Tiny). Oddly, I don't have any right now.

The only thing keeping me from hoarding every Volks Kujo that pops up on the secondhand market are the good ole Volks limited prices. So, I just have to be content with my two...>.<

Also, Asleep Eidolon Jiao Sr. Price isn't the issue, but wait time is. I just have no interest in waiting 6+ months to get them!

 

I don't know what qualifies as an army but I have 4 Luts Dion's that I've been collecting over the years. I started with a regular ol' Senior Delf Dion back in '07 (before Luts offered all their colors) and now I have a Tan one, a White one (on the new spiffy body) and a Dreaming Dion that I had to hunt for 2nd hand.

Currently planning a dark tan one, a mini version, and trying to find his mold's sister Camilla to round out this little Dion family. ^-^; I personally love the mold and I'm also pretty attached to this particular doll because he was my first BJD. I love looking at doll armies! It's fun to see how people redo the same sculpt in creative ways.

I have basically owned doubles of each doll I currently have now.
I have three Pipos Cheshire cats, One Pipos Baha (You know, to not make myself look SO crazy), I have owned two Shiwoo Minifees and now have only the SD size, I've owned two Dollzone Wings at one point (Now I'm back down to one.)

Yeah, I have a problem. "Oh I like this sculpt, LET'S BUY THEM ALL!"

Now I'm attempting to stick with companies, right now I'm on a Luts/CP kick.

 

I have a small army of Shiwoos hahahaaaa! 10 and always counting! XD

 

Well, I already do have a Euclase army. I've got 7 of them now! Euclase has two heads, a sleeping (Meditation) and a human (open-eye) head, so there's some variety there. I've also got two of the Meditation heads which have been modded to have open eyes. Euclase has been released in White, Normal, Tan, and Grey resin, so there's resin colour diversity too!

I... may just be obsessed with the sculpt, ahaha.

 

The Luts Kid Delf Winter Event head from 2013. I have her, but I really have to talk myself out of buying every one i see for sale. I just adore her. She has such a sweet face.

I own three of these right now, and if I could find one in a skin tone I don’t have, I’d have to buy a fourth.

 

Little Monica Roselyn is my favorite sculpt! I currently have three, all three releases of her. There’s one basic, a dreaming (Gloomy) version, and a secret gift head that’s like a dreamy wink head. I’ve asked them multiple times to release an Innocent Roselyn (Innocent being what they call full sleeping sculpts). I also just received an Innocent Chloe and am feeling the need to get duplicates of her too! She has a basic counterpart too.
Little Monica had a survey event once too and basically I kept asking for Roselyn in different sizes too Timing didn’t work out for me, but when they had their tan events I really wanted to purchase a tan Roselyn
