How many of the same molds will you get?

I hope to get twins sometime)) love them. but if I had, for example, 10 same sculpts(even if they were 5 only..), I'd had no idea what should I do with them, so except those twins my dolls will always be the only sculpts. that's enough I think)

 

I am twice guilty. I have 3 KH Sora Minimees, and I refer to them as the 'triplets', but they don't really look like each other, especially the ws doll with the goth-type faceup. I am currently awaiting a body for my second 1/3 DZ Mo head, so Jace can have a brother. I'd probably buy more of those heads in the future.

 

I have 5 Dollmore Bella Auden's (3WS & 2NS), 2 NS sleepy eyes Bella Auden's and 4 Soom Kyrie's, all with their own body.

 

I think I only would buy another doll of the same mold if they have a different colour, like a pipos ringo in beige and white.
Other than that it would be a waste of money to me.

 

I used to have 3 Els because its such a versatile sculpt and none of them looked the same at all.
And of course I have 4 of the exact same minimee head and 2 other minimee heads that are the same. But really I don't see a problem with it at all. It's fun (in my opinion) to see how different they can look when they are the same sculpt!

My limit would definately be two but I would seriously consider two MD Jinas ;D

 

I'm getting another Yeon-ho, so two, but I think any number of the same scuplt is fine, there's just so many possiblities for one scuplt and sometimes it's hard to fall in love with another face.

 

4 Domuya Vans. 2 NS (1 regular, 1 will be heavily modded), 2 white skin (1 regular, 1 heavily modded).
2 Elfdoll Reds (1 NS, 1 Vampire)
2 Elfdoll Sibara (1 NS, 1 WS)
2 MSDoll Devil Draytons (1 NS, 1 Grey Skin)
2 Soom Epidos (TWINS) (both human, NS).

Of my 'duplicate molds' only one set are actually twins. The set of 4 are all the same character but different versions, and I love the mold so much I've been tempted to get a 5th of the mold. How many of that mold would I get? I think 4 is my limit as the 5th is a real stretch for the character. The others that I have two of...tend to be rather dramatically different characters, and people do not realize they are the same mold.

 

This is an interesting topic to me. I collect another doll that is basically the same mold just different hair and make up but it never even occurred to me that this would translate into collecting BJDs until I saw this thread (I'm a little slow at times hahaha).

There are soooo many different sculpts and types of BJDs that I like that I don't see myself getting any repeats anytime soon but I wouldn't be opposed to it if I found one I really loved or had a specific plan for.

 

Hmm. I can only think of three duplicates that I have at the moment, but I have had more than that in the past.

I currently own three Elfdoll Reds. I also own two DZ Leos because they crack me up. Finally, I have two big Shiwoos, one NS and one tan. ETA: Oh wait! How could I forget. DZ Megi -- I have two, one tan and one white skin. .


In the past I had a fourth Elfdoll Red, a Vampire Red, who recently moved upstairs to Bugling's room -- yay for in-house adoptions!. Same with the DD-Anne Tiny Mero (I got two of the earliest batch and gave them to the girls for Christmas). There are also two DoC Toos in the house, one belonging to each of my daughters.

Back along, I had at least three minifee Shiwoos that I can recall -- only one right now. And we've also had several Dark Elf Soos of varying shades and so on.

It's Red, though, that continues to draw me regardless of who else is in the area. I just love that face.

 

I would like Chalco triplets, one in each skintone, just because. >_> Come to think of it, I'm pretty predisposed to getting more than one of a sculpt I like, if only because I'm super picky about sculpts. ._. I have a pair of MNF Breakaway heads, a pair of Appinis, Ai and Afi, and I'm getting a second Chalco to go with the first one (I will think about number 3 when I have cash again). @_@ At some point in time, I'd probably be getting a WS Yder with both heads, because I still find him totally adorable, which would possibly give me Yder triplets, if I don't end up re-shelling Fate as a WS... I think, for the moment, no more than 3 sounds about right. ^_^

 

Me I collect U-noa FP, so I have 2 Lusis and 2 Sist, before it was 3 of each + the other.
I have 2 old F-09 , look like the old F-05 but her face is larger.
And Ante, but different sizes.
And still want to buy same faces, nevermind how much I can get, each will be different, ^^

 

They can look similar, but I really don't want an exact duplicate of any dolls (even if there is a height difference). I think they should only get to be their own person with their own style without having to compete with other dolls that look too similar.

 

I fell in love with the Ponpong from fairyland. I have 2 pukipuki and someday I want a pukifee in that sculpt. My twins are rather different. They have different face-ups and one is a boy and the other a girl. Also the boy is NS and the girl WS. I think it's fun to have twins but I wouldn't want them to be identical. That is one of the really wonderful thing about this hobby is that each doll can be so different even if they are the same sculpt. Just look at the 5 star doll thread. There are a few Tongtongs on there that have the company face-up but they all look so different from my girl. Even given the same face-up the dolls can look so different!

 

I'm really tempted with certain molds (Blue Fairy Olive, Blue Fairy Emilie) because with a change of eyes and wig, or especially a different face-up, they can really look unique. But at this point, I'll stick with varied sculpts, as there are other dolls I'm interested in. Maybe later, though.

 

I have two Leeke Mikhailas -- one in snow skin and one pure rose. Between having different faceups and being different skin tones, they don't feel like clones of each other -- they're like sisters who have a strong resemblance but aren't identical. They're currently the only repeated headsculpts that I have, though it's possible there could be others in the future. I love seeing how the same headsculpts can have their own individual personalities -- it's part of the beauty of bjds.

 

Looks like I am in the crazy club too; yay! I have sets of sisters... Sometimes, a mold just gets a hold you.

I have 2 of the Sara heads because i wanted to do the twins thing. But othen than that i dont see my self haveing dubbles

 

Not sure if this counts but I have a Dollzone Mo-A and Mo-B heads. They are my twins, Sacha and Mischa.
