Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. How many of you have big dolls? 70cm - 80cm

Apr 10, 2008

    1. I have a Dragondoll, Emperor Huang. He hasn't at all dissuaded me from larger dolls, in fact, a great part of my wishlist is taken over by big boys. I am blessed that I can carry one of them around for some time with little trouble.

    2. So far, I have Tatsuha, a Gravitation: Yuki Eiri MNM/Spiritdoll Proud hybrid (70cm), and I'm saving for a Dream of Doll DoI to be Seguchi Tohma (also 70cm).

I also have planned a body for Yuki-san, who will be a Ringdoll Grown V2/ Gravitation: Yuki Eiri MNM hybrid (72.5cm) and I'd looking for a body for my Loveless: Agatsuma Soubi MNM (hopefully at least 70cm). Not to mention a few other bodies that I want...just because I want them! :)

    3. I have a RD Kay, which is 72.5 and thinking about if I can get Sabik as well~ XD

    4. I love all doll sizes, but I do have a slight preference of the 50-60 cm dolls, and also the 45 cm ones. The biggest doll I own is a Luts Delf El, followed by a dollmroe Chami. I am planning on getting some Iplehouse 70 cm boys, but I am still not sure if I will keep their bodies or downsize them.

    5. My biggest doll is a hybrid of Nabarro's Boys Har on a SSDF body. He's a handful! But I love him.

I'm thinking about putting my Benedict Cumberbatch head on a big body too since he looks good on the SSDF body.

The bigger sizes aren't my favorite, but they do have they charm and they're easy to sew for. And now all my other dolls feel so small!

    6. I have a Dollmore Glamor Model Ripley Days at about 73cm (the tallest, but easiest to deal with), an Iplehouse EID Kamau (Superhero), Dollshe Hound and a Little Monica Kliff head on a Popodoll 68 who's just as tall as the other 70's, and takes up more space than my Hound XD

I think I'm probably going to get one more 70cm guy (DZ Raymond) and be done with them. They're not my favorite size: they're cumbersome and I find it hard to find clothes for them in the individual styles I want (if it's not suits or casual clothes I can't seem to find it). I tend to ignore them in favor of the 60cm boys, but they're all dolls I "needed" XD and I have no intention of letting them go.

I have a friend with an IOS 80cm and HOLY HELL he makes my GM look like a shrimp!! He's pretty fabulous <3

    7. I have three Ringdoll grown boys (72.5cm) as well as two hybrids on Popodoll 68cm bodies which puts them at a very similar height. I personally love the bigger dolls. They are great for photographing and you can see details easier than on smaller dolls. There are plenty of cloths made in the big sizes now so that's not a problem either. Of my 10 only 2 are under 65cm. The downside is obviously cost and of course they take up a fair bit of space. They are also quite heavy to take along to meets!

    8. I have an Iplehouse EID (70cm) and Soom Idealian (72cm), also a YOSD (26cm) and a tiny (15cm) and I must say I prefer the bigger boys. The only different between them is the weight and their posing abilities. With the bigger boys, they require BOTH hands to move about and they're not as delicate. Sometimes I feel it's almost like a wrestling match trying to get them to do the things I want them to do. The tinies, I'm more gentle with them and I'm often scared of hurting them so if they don't want to pose...I just leave them be.

    10. Since I posted this, Tohma has come home! :) He's a DoI, just like I wanted! Now I"m saving for not one but TWO bodies, Yuki-san's Ringdoll Grown body, and InuYasha (my S.O.) who will be getting a Mirodoll 68cm body for his Hellsing: Alucard MNM head.

      I LOVE big boys!

Kavarr, it might be a good investment to get a umbrella stroller for your guys. Sure they look kinda silly in it, but it saves you from carrying around 4 different carrying cases! I put my two 70cm boys in first, and then my 60cm boys on their laps. And when I go to meetups, I just seatbelt them into my car, since I only have one carrying case.

    11. I've got a Doll Chateau Christina who's pretty big at 68 and am ordering DC Dolores next week who's 72cm. If I could afford it I would order Circus Kane's Stadnick at 82cm. But it's too pricey for me. I do like bigger dolls, I find them easy to handle and actually a little easier to dress.

Ryuichi Sakuma 13 - I didn't realize those DoI boys were that big. They would tower over my DoT girl doll....

    12. Most of my crew are smaller 57-65cm dolls... but I do have a pair of Iplehouse EID guys (70cm) and a Doll Chateau Dolores (72cm). I also have a hooved Soom Heliot on the Legend (slightly taller than the usual SG guys-) body who comes in around that height as well.

    13. Ha, looking back at when I posted here I think I only had my 1 1/2 DragonDoll boys... Now, my collection is nearly 1/2 70cm dolls! 14 out of 31 are 70cm+/- then a few are 65cm-ish.

I've certainly learned a lot more about working with them, clothing them, getting them shoes, and so on. I find myself really more interested in the larger sizes - I very seriously plan on getting 1 or 2 of the IOS 80cm and I'd love a Leeel 90cm and/or Lusion's bigger sister.

The biggest boys really can be a challenge to clothe - I sew but I'm lazy lol... In particular, my IH superhero is a nightmare to find clothes for (and shoes!!) and AkagiDoll Tanta who's not as beefy, but quite tall and broad. I love my big boys =w= Mature sculpts are what I'm drawn to most and I love the different options available with the bigger dolls. Sadly I haven't found any super big girls that do it for me aside from a few EID ladies, but my experience with my male EID and his posing difficulties makes me not so eager to pursue them :/

    14. I have two 70cm boys and one planned. 70+cm is my favourite size!

    15. I have an IOS Class 80 Lacrimosa, and I'm so happy with big boy~
I admit it's a little difficult to carry him around and make him pose right but I love him so much!

    16. I love my big boys! I have a Leeel Alzad inbound (90cm), a LumeDoll Usil (85.5cm), IOS Lacrimosa and Stille (80cm), IOS Jaguar and Hiro (70cm), couldn't tell you the heights of all the others, but also have Dollshe Purebody Rosen, Dollmore Model man Nayuta Kenzo, Soom Mecha Angel Sabik and Antares, and a handful of Iple EID boys.
I think it's that presence that the taller boys have, that makes me love them so much! Helps me overlook the troubles with finding/making clothes for them.

    17. No i don't. My biggest dolls are two 62 cm boys. And the girl is about 52 cm :D

    18. Oh yes, DoI boys are 70cm. :D I'm really thinking about getting a DoI body for my Soubi MNM head, since they're lovely bodies, and their delicate hands are to die for! Tohma towers over Ryuichi, which is fine for me since Ryuichi's supposed to be 5'4" and Tohma's supposed to be 5'10'.

Honestly, I'd love to get a 70+ girl (Dollmore's Trinity :drool), but right now, she won't fit into any of my storylines. Maybe some day.

    19. I love big boy dolls. All my guys are in the 70cm range, actually. I have a Doll Chateau boy, a 70cm DZ boy, two Akagi Doll hybrids, a Dollshe, my Mega Gem is technically 68cms but, in shoes he's about 70. I'm also in the process of building a Souldoll Zenith/Granado hybrid. He'll be 70cm as well.
