1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How many of you have big dolls? 70cm - 80cm

Apr 10, 2008

    1. which one do you have suselsan?

I'd love to see pics :)

    2. I was sucked in by a certain Sabik face in the marketplace, a while back, and he's just such a love! At 80cm, he makes the folks at work think I'm going to one day drag in a life-sized doll.
Then I got run over by Iple's Noctarcana Circus Kamau! Such a gorgeous dark, beefy beast! He looks good in anything or nothing at all. ;) (70cm)
But then the Iple released the long awaited model version EID, and here I sit and lovingly stare at my NS Chase who is just slightly taller than Kamau, but really looks much thinner and taller when they're together. I think he's only .5cm taller by the books, but he really looks much taller.

I actually think the Sabik is easier to pose because he's lankier. The EID boys are fiddly around the ankles and knees. They are so top-heavy, they tend to give way at the knees and fold backwards quite a bit when I'm trying to pose them.
But they're just so darned beautiful to look at, I don't care! :XD:
Oh, and they ARE heavy! I used to think the Unidoll Jace was heavy. Wow. These boys really are.

    3. I have Soom Heliot (w/hooves on at all times). He's heavy and scares a lot of people.

    4. *raises hand*
I now have a Wing-2 from Dollzone. He totally dwarves my dear Satsuki (she's only 44cm; DZ Shoyo-3), but I guess that's fine, since she's supposed to be his familiar cat-spirit. I haven't really played with him yet, (recently completed the face up, now working on the outfit) so I won't know if I'll have any posing issues. So, the only problem I have is carrying him around!

BTW: Does anyone have any idea if a 60cm doll's head would fit on a 70cm's body?

    5. I got a Dollshe DSAM Rosen as my 1st BJD and now thinking of getting another 70+ boy. 70+ rocks~~

    6. I actually have two big boys. I have Vassily(Val), a Souldoll Chiron, and Remy a DZ Hong. Val is 70cm and Remy is apparently 72cm...(He is huge compared to my friend's DOT Shall)

    7. Here, Luts Super Senior Delf. It was Limited Abadon for DOA in last fall.
      His armor is really nice, but sometimes it is very hard to handle him to me ^^;
      He is almost half of my height! ;;

    8. I have a SOOM mecha angel Corvi. Out of all my dolls I love him the most(shh dont tell the others) I just stare in aw of him because he's so handsome. He's really large though so clothes and shoes are kind of tough to find. He can also be floppy around the waist. We had a shaky start because he's hard to string but after he got strung and I put him away during work things were better. Then I got him to stand on a hard surface so it was a lot better. When I opened him today my mom was pretty freaked out by him because he's so tall(about the size of my 1 1/2 yr old neice). Carrying him can get pretty troublesome mostly because he's so lanky.

I think the taller dolls look a little more realistic, and manly for the tall male dolls. I like that aspect about them.

    9. I have Owen (Iplehouse EID Akando). I did have a Limhwa Mano but I sold him recently as he never quite fit in with my other dolls. I'm seriously hoping to add another EID man to my doll family very soon.

    10. Ooo! I like big dolls! I love their size! My first doll was Dollzone Chen-1 with 72 cm body (arrived in Octouber 2008). My second doll was 80cm SOOM Sabik-elf (arrived in June 2009). I decided, that I wanted more realisitc dolls and at Fabruary 2010 Dream realm's Antonio 72 cm doll arrivd to me.

    11. UPDATE: When I last posted in this thread, back in 2008, I had three 70cm boys ~ DZ Yuu, Cloud, and Ying. And, frankly, I thought that was going to be all the 70cm sized boys my collection needed. (Boy! Was I wrong!)

I love mature looking sculpts, and it seems that companies are producing more mature boys in the 70cm size range. So, it now appears that my Wish List is populated by 70cm boys ~ Dika Doll Zura, Dragon Doll Emperor Huang, Spirit Doll Firson, and someday a Dollshe Saint.

I now have ten 70cm sized boys in total: (How did that happen? :?)
      DZ Yuu
      DZ Cloud
      DZ Ying
      Buddy Doll Mars Tough
      Soom Heliot
      DZ Hong
AOD Werewolf Head on a DragonDoll Uncle body
      Iple House Tedros
      Spirit Doll Dark
      Angelsdoll Cian

I've really grown to love the bigger boys! Im presently thinking that maybe I need to re-shell some of my 60cm characters into larger sized dolls.

    12. WOW... you been really busy with the dolls... i know what you mean... My son went from 1 to 5 in just a couple months.
I went from three to 20 in a few months... im a little anti social these days with all the doll things i do daily.

    13. I've got three- IH EIDs RS Asa and RS Luo just arrived in the last month, but I've had Chrom since November. He's paws on all the time.

    14. My Soom MechaAngel Corvi is my first doll. I always loved his sculpt, but posing him was a bit of a challenge at first. All that leg kept going everywhere! My friend, who got me started in this hobby, tightened his stringing up, then sueded his joints. I still had problems with 'crazy lags'...and arms for that matter. Finally, she ran some 14 gauge wire through his joints, and he's greatly improved. In spite of the rough start, I never regretted getting him.

    15. Dollshe Husky was my first doll (and most probably my most 'experimented' doll). During that time, I was pretty interested in Dollshe (I blame that friend of mine for show me her Hound.) He was a just released then, and that got my ball rolling in the doll collection.

Soom Sabik was the next 70cm up doll. He was also a just released and OMG I totally LOVE his face. (Pretty much love at first sight.) But him being 80cm was rather hard for me to handle. In the end (like 2-3 years later) I decided to send him to another loving owner.

Next up was SSDelf Flood, which I got him really for his body (to home my MM Sephiroth head). He ended up staying so I had to get ANOTHER SSDF, whose head was split off (which is probably a good thing. That head might also ended up staying LOL)

FairyLand Feeple Breakaway. O. M. G. is really all I can say. Got another Feeple body in my Rona split. So I have boy-girl twins.

Dollmore Eva LE. Boobie. Big. Enough said.

I really, really, really, meant to just get SSDF Abadon LE body. Mainly just for his sword hand, so my Sephy can have it and swing his damn long sword (which I'm yet to make) Instead, Sephy's body (SSDF) got hijacked by the other Abadon LE head (sleepy). XD lol!

Recently, I got my hands on a SpiritDoll body, intended for Sephy (since his old body got hijacked). Rather mismatch skintone. T_T

      So all in all, 1 Dollshe, 1 Dollmore, 1 SpiritDoll, 2 Feeple, 3 SSDF. 8 (+1 ex-Doll Soom)

    16. I have Resinsoul Long and Resinsoul Lian. Long is 70cm but Lian is only 68cm..she's still a big girl! I have Soom Corvi on layaway...Yay!

    17. Thank you for those tips!

    18. My first doll is a 70cm doll. But I got him from a charity auction so I've no idea what sculpt of company he's from. I'll try to get some pics posted. I love him but he can't stand; could that be because he needs re-stringing?

    19. My newest fellow (cannot call him a boy) is DragonDoll Emperor Huang, his name is Erastes. His welcome to my home was for me to stand him on my lap while I straightened his legs, he commenced to bend over and smack me in the head with his head. I'm sure he did it on purpose. I do not have him on display, because I haven't finished making any clothing for him yet. He's getting a very, um, yaoi look. Yes, he comes with three "man parts" - one regular, one interested, and one very interested.

    20. @Pinkittycat Probably restringing will make him stand. A friend just restrung my Lian who could only fall into a pile and now she stands wonderfully! I glue sueded her joints too.:)
