1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How many of you have big dolls? 70cm - 80cm

Apr 10, 2008

    1. I don't know if I can put it here,
but I've just ordered doll from Spiritdoll which is 66cm tall

    2. I own 2 of them. I have a Doll Zone Yuu-2 Tan with the old 70 body and a Doll Zone Chen-1 white with the new 72cm body. They were my first two dolls and I just move my boys! :D

There's nothing in particular that you need to do care wise for the bigger boys, they're just a hellova lot heavier than the smaller dolls. Carrying them around with my SD girl and my tiny girl at an anime convention for one day alone with my DSLR and some water bottles and stuff I bought made me sore for an entire week. XD Lesson: If you're going to carry them, carry just them, they're heavy enough on their own. XD

    3. All my dolls are in the 65-70 cm range, with my DOT Lahoo being the shortest at 64cm: EID Luna (65), EID Akando (70), Buddydoll Teo (he's listed as 70 but he's really 71cm), Dollmore Lasia (68), Spiritdoll Cyathea (66), Angelheim Ryan (71).

I just ordered a DOI 70cm body for my MnM head, and I'm saving up for a Feeple girl (68cm).

    4. You own Nori? ~jealous!~ I love the Bishonen boys but they're so limited and expensive.

I don't have a doll yet but all the ones I've found to fall in love with seem to be the 65cm and bigger size dolls. I just know that I'll end up with a collection of big boys. If I can ever stretch to a Bishonen then I will. They're huge, impressive and I love the body sculpts of them.

    5. I've got a Spirit Doll Dark myself, and I want a Thorn... I'm falling in love with the bigger boys - they're so beautiful!

    6. I have a Spirit Doll Acer ;) I was a little shocked at his size at first (I jumped straight from MSD to 70cm), but I absolutely love him now. I`m also thinking of getting the popodoll 68cm body for my Dollgru 08 head.
I find it a lot easier to bond with bigger dolls.

    7. I am yet to buy a doll but i would really like to and i was wondering if a 70cm would be too big for a first doll?

    8. It really is all down to personal preference, my first doll was 70cm my second was 80cm. I have seen 60cm dolls in person but that size seems too small and delicate to appeal to me but quite a lot of people find 70cm + unwieldy

    9. i ordered Andraye my D.O.I Luke V.1 about four-five weeks ago :3
he'll be my first sd and 70cm boy x33 <333
my other two are Msd's ^o^ so it'll be quite a change lol

    10. Lol, I have a DragonDoll TangYao and he nailed me in the shoulder the first or second day I had him too. Uncle bodies are known to do that, I guess. You'd think with all the versions of the 60cm body they've put out they would've fixed the weak hips by now... I've learned to be very careful when doing anything with him standing in front of me.

Clothes I've found are harder to find for these guys because they're both really tall and really muscular. Shoes can be iffy if you don't sand down the sides of their feet (which I have) because they're too freak'n wide.

    11. I recently got my first 70cm doll. I had told myself I'd never do that, but rules and me never seem to get along!

I've had SD-sized dolls from 2004, so it's not a huge leap for me. Then I got SOOMed and got a couple of 65cm in 2008 and '09. And finally caved and got an Iplehouse NC EID (model body) Tedros. After easing up like I did, he really doesn't seem that huge. I still don't think I'll haul him out to tons of meetups, but I could... I've taken my 60cms and my 65+cms and it's not been that big a difference... It might be more of a shock to someone used to smaller dolls, but I think if they really like the doll, it shouldn't be a problem.

Also, Iplehouse has had time to make some clothes for the size, and some seamstresses/designers are making stuff... so that hasn't been too much of a chore. (And I've been happily buying a huge range of fashion in 60cm size, so I've got a lot of that out of my system. As long as my dolls have a few cool outfits I'm happy with, it's all good.) I used to be worried about clothes sizes and matching with other dolls and all that, but after all these years, it's no longer a big deal for me.

    12. My only 2 dolls are 70cm. I love big dolls! The bigger they are the more I want them! hihihi I think they require to be more careful cause they're not so light

    13. I've been finding that I really enjoy Erastes with his shirts open. And tight pants. So, I've come to the conclusion that this DragonDoll Emperor is really a Rock Star! [IMG]

    14. I have one, a DoI Kalix, I love the size and proportions of them; I so want more of this size and maybe bigger!

    15. For my B-Day this year I ordered my first BJD. He is Dragondoll Uncle body TangYao. It took only 3 weeks from my ordering him from Dragondoll company to get to me. Now he is sleeping in my wardrobe and waiting for my B-day to come. He is 72+ cm. And gorgeous. But I dnot know where to buy clothes for him. If you have any idea please share with me. You can PM.. :-D
      I love big boys. :-)

    16. He is just so perfect. What clothes will fit him? Do you know if Hound/70cm pants would be ok for him?

    17. I find that clothes made for hounds are generally too skinny. I've got my DD in Dollmore Model M clothes that seem to fit alright. Pants are alittle short when his sits tho >_>;

    18. Umeboshi is a 70cm resinsoul long, his clothing was made by my wife and he wears dollzone yue boots which fit him really well the only issue I have with him is unless he's thickly strung_ wired and sueded he's a horrible poser.

    19. http://marshpants.com/gallery/lost/index.html is where I got three wonderful pairs of pants for Erastes. Marsh is also a member of DoA.

Believe it or not, his fur coat is an American Girl doll coat. I have some AG shirts for him, and they look damn good. But, he is a rock star after all, and can wear unusual things.

    20. And what about Glamour model doll from doll more? Wouldnt that be better?
