1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I have all different sizes so have to buy outfits for each size. I don't have a number I am still buying:)

    2. Honestly, If I can find them ONE good outfit each, then I'm overjoyed!!! It's pretty hard to do, though!

    3. I could change my SD girl every single day in a month and still have leftover outfits. That is how addicted I am to buying her clothes. And, that is why I had to get her a friend.

    4. I was feeling generous for Christmas and decided to buy some of my 1/3s new outfits. My new girl was bought 5 full outfits + random pieces but only has one outfit that is truly, 'her'.

    5. I don't ever feel like there is a maximum number of outfits I would want for my dolls. I love changing their clothing; for me, that dress up action is a big part of the hobby.

    6. I would love to make each of them 10+ of outfit as I am doing design in college, but I was just too lazy to get start...Hopefully I can cheep myself up and achieve that soon~

    7. I have been thinking about this thread for a couple of days. I am the type of collector that loves to change my bjds clothes frequently. I am not very interested in buying one-off outfits or elaborate costumes. My crew prefer to wear for the most part-casual clothes.

I have 6 slim mini girls. Because they are similar in size the clothes for the most part are interchangable. I did a quick clothing inventory and I am a bit surprised about the amount of clothing I have acquired in the past 7 years!

I am skipping the clothes I have for the boys; this is what I have for the 6 mini girls:

      Jackets/hoodies 13
      Dresses 14

      Pants 14
      Skirts 30

      Tops 52

      Stockings/sox 48
      Hats 17

      Shoes 42

I obviously have a thing for tops and stockings and shoes! I don't want to even think about the wigs!

    8. It depends on the doll. Most of my dolls are the same size and males so when I buy clothes, they usually both wear them. I never bought anything for a specific doll until I got my first girl. I couldn't stop myself and got her like ten outfits because she looks adorable in them and I guess since she's my first female doll, I kinda spoil her a bit more than the others.
I can tell each has at least two different sets of outfits. That's really a lot of stuff... xD

GOTTA keep them interesting, the verity wide.
      Things will get boring fast.

    10. voted for 7-9 but i think i have more ... Some I bought from others, some I made by myself.

    11. I make a lot of clothes now for my yo sized doll. But I bought 3 sets of clothes for my SD that I am still waiting for. >:/

Nicky (my sd) has two pairs of jeans and a striped suit. He has one shirt to go with the jeans, and 3 pairs of shoes. Marc (my Yo) has a bunch of hand made clothes, but his best pairs are a stash of machine made shirts and shorts +socks from a swap, and my hand made pants and shirts. :3
I did order him a brand new outfit, after 3 years of owning him. <3 lol

I haven't sat down to sew anything new just yet, but I have a lot of fabrics to share between my boys. I hand sew, so it takes a million years to get stuff done. XP

    12. For a BJD, especially a boy BJD, I would say 4-6 (even that's a bit much!). As for girls, you would need more clothes; around the 10+ category. (EX: Dresses, skirts, pants, stockings, shirts, etc).

    13. I don't have one yet, but I am debating weather or not I want to get one doll and get a bunch of outfits that fit that one's 'personality' or if I want to get one outfit/wig to sort of morph him into multiple characters..

    14. currently my only doll has 2 outfits but i plan to buy him more. so he will probably end up having around 5. i like each outfit to symbolise a part of his character which is the main reason i like to have a few outfits. :-)

    15. I usually buy articles or full outfits specifically for one girl. I try to keep it even, but sometimes you just find the perfect outfit for a doll, you know? They occasionally do wear each others clothes, though. My fiance and I tend to share everything we buy for our dolls. We only have MSD girls right now--and recently a MDD, so all the clothes fit everybody!

    16. Oh wow, I feel so naive! I was shocked to see how many people like changing/buying dolly outfits. It's the thing I hate the MOST about this hobby. Handling the resin so much with my bare hands feels dirty (dirty for the doll, coming in contact with my greasy acid fingers) and I always get hot and exhausted forcing all those ill-placed fingers in narrow sleeves, lacing up tiny corsets, and delicately placing wigs and jewelry. Ugh!

When I have a character in mind for a doll, it includes a VERY specific costume as part of that doll's character. I agonize over all the small details of their costumes and search for many, many hours for the perfect footware and accessories. Because of that, all my dolls have ONE outfit that is part of their character and almost all my doll's outfits are custom made too, because they are so specific. If they had different costumes then they'd just be different characters!

I guess I'm just neurotic :sweat

    17. as long my doll can wear it, I'll buy it =D

    18. Most of my dolls have just one special outfit each, especially the bigger dolls, and all the guys. My tinies have two or three each.

    19. I have just one outfit on each doll. Dolls I buy quicker, than I manage to put on them.

    20. Most of my SDs have one outfit, but eventually they'll have two- casual and formal wear. The tinies have tons of clothes because it's easier to whip out fun little outfits for them and I like to sew!
