1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I debate about this quiet a bit. Should all of my dolls have their own pair of jeans each OR can they swap. At approx. $35 per pair, they can swap! Everyone has at least 5+ outfits that I bought with just them in mind. But because none of my guys are fantasy characters, all live in present day and more or less the "regular Joe" down the street - I buy separates that they can specifically share, especially because I can't sew as well as I would want to for them and the stuff I like tends to be $$$.

    2. My two dolls have one complete outfit each, socks, undergarments, and a pair of shoes each. I also have a few extras, and a friend owes a dress for my girl.

But, they'll share clothing too. My girl doesn't mind wearing boy stuff. ^^

And, as I can afford it, they'll both have tons more because I like to switch stuff up and take photos. As my dad said, "You can only take so many pictures of them in their outfits."

    3. Right now my dolls have one outfit each. :sweat But I shall get more someday! :kitty2

    4. All of my girls have tons of clothes. I don't know why, but I feel the need to dress them in a lot of different stuff. My boy doll on the other hand, only has one pair of jeans and a few shirts.

    5. I try to find one perfect outfit for each doll that they will wear forever.

    6. This is a tough question for me. My dolls all have an outfit or article of clothing that is specifically "theirs" but since most of my dolls are around the same size, they all share clothes too.

    7. My one doll has about 4 or 5 outfits depending on how I dress him but he's got a new brother on his way with 1 complete outfit and an extra pair of pants lol. I wish I could afford to get some sort of armor or something fun for him/them.

    8. Most of my girls have a distinct style so can't share. They probably each have about 3-5 outfits. I make some things and buy some things, it depends. But I am still in acquire dolly mode, so maybe once I've acquired most or all of my wishlist I'll work more on their wardrobe.

    9. Right now my first doll has one outfit. I'm delaying starting on another outfit for her because my second doll should arrive soon and I don't want to have to stop working on her second outfit to make his first outfit. My characters each have their own distinct styles, so when I get dolls for them, they aren't likely to share clothes.

    10. My rule is, at least one complete outfit that each doll can call its own. After that, if sizing and clothing tastes permit, they can share. Some clothing articles are distinctly tied to certain characters though, so those can't be shared (for example, Peppermint is the only one who wears puffy prince shorts, while Ronnie claims turtlenecks and off-the-shoulder tops).

As far as total number of outfits... I'm obsessed with minimalism for my BJD collection. I don't like having outfits that aren't worn much. So I would generally like to keep the number of outfits down to a minimum - having only the most fitting and most attractive outfits. I'd say 3 is ideal right now - this is counting a complete underwear-tops-bottoms-socks-shoes combos. Veronica needs a few pairs of Mori girl-inspired items, plus her "work" clothes - an undersuit/uniform and a space-suit. Peppermint needs his Oneiroi outfit, a modern-day outfit, and maaaybe his princely clothes (maybe not - he would technically never wear them in this size). Neither of my dolls have any of these right now, by the way. =P In the future, if I get more dolls, I might relax the "3 full outfits" rule because some of those dolls' characters are... well... calling them "decadent" would be an understatement. They would never wear the same outfit twice, so they'll need an appropriately-sized wardrobe (actually they'll probably take over mine =P).

    11. My girls have many outfits. I make them when I have time and/or am not lazy :)

    12. Every doll of mine has to have an outfit for when they come home. Currently all my dolls have a few outfits each; except Fox, who is just a head right now. I took a quick inventory:

      Cesavier
      2 jackets
      1 hoodie
13 shirts (6 that he wears regularly; 1 Is formal, 1 is fullset, 1 is pjs, the others don't suit him)
4 pairs of shoes (2 that he wears regularly; 1 is formal, 1 is ugly fullset)
      1 pair of socks
      1 hat
      1 set of bandages (fullset)
      7 pairs of boxer shorts
5 pairs of pants (3 he wears regularly; 1 formal, 1 pjs)
      1 set of eyes.
      1 wig.

I'd like to get him some better pjs, some more jeans, a few more shirts and some fancy costumes. A beanie hat and arm warmers are in order too.

      Seraphine
5 shirts (2 that she wears frequently)
      4 pairs of shoes
      2 dresses
      2 skirts
      1 pair of knickers
      1 jacket
      5 pairs of stockings
3 wigs (same colour and length, different styles)
      1 set of eyes.

She needs more pretty dresses. I wouldn't mind getting her a few more fancy shoes and costumes too. She needs some pjs and jewelry.

      Neeko
      4 pairs of pants
      1 pair of shoes
      2 jackets
      3 shirts
      1 pair of gloves
      1 set of eyes
      1 wig

He needs more shoes, shirts, pants and jewelry. He's going to get most of the fancy costumes. He needs some pjs and an over the top kimono style dressing gown too.

      Fox
      1 wig
      1 set of eyes.

He needs a body, jacket, shirt, pants and boots.

      Spares
1 pair of jeans that don't fit anyone
1 wig leftover after Ces got a new one
      1 boot missing its twin
1 wig from when I was deciding which Fox should have.

So yeah - enough to fill a shoe box and carrier bag, but I've still got lots planned :) Especially since Fox will be my last doll for now.

    13. Oh, my. Well, I only have one doll and I sew for him. So... he has 3 shoe-box sized boxes full of clothes (they're pretty stuffed), 1 same-sized box about half full of knit items, and 1 box of miscellaneous items like necklaces and hair elastics. I'd say that he has well over 15 outfits, many with the ability to recombine. Right now, I'm only hindered by time and space (mostly time) in the amount of stuff he has.

I imagine that the amount of clothes per doll will decrease as I get more dolls, if only because a lot of the items will be shared. I do enjoy sewing, though, so I think that my dolls will always have way more to wear than they actually could wear.

    14. My doll has 2 outfits at the moment but I'm hoping to get/make more in the future ^^

    15. Somwhere around 3-4. I don't mind for them to have more, and I bet they will in the future.

    16. Since most of my dolls is sd size so they can share their outfits. For this reason I can buy a ton of outfits.

    17. Currently, the most outfits any of my dolls have is one... but that's only because doll clothing is so expensive! Eventually I'd love all my dolls to have at least 3-4 outfits (indoor/travelling/winter/etc).

    18. Most of them only have one or two; I like my dolls to have "default" outfits. It might take me a while to find their right look, but when I do, typically they're stuck with it!

    19. I have about 5 outfits for my doll. But I want sooo much more!!! Right now I'm getting a cool casual outfit made, but next I'm gunna commission a cosplay outfit for him! Pretty soon my doll will have more clothes than me.

    20. I make all of their clothes, and I sew a LOT. So at least 10 outfits each. I have a new boy who's trying to catch up, but it won't be long now. :)
