1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How often do you play with your dolls?

Jan 18, 2021

    1. @The Narrative Nerd Take your time <3 They're definitely sturdy but it's totally understandable to be nervous with them. I still kind of am, but getting better. The first big moment for me was removing a head, and that helped me become more comfortable. Then I had to add tension to one of my dolls stringing situations... following that I'm more confident, but those were big hurdles! Maybe try starting with taking a couple heads on and off to learn how to do that and prove to yourself that handling them is okay? I tie ribbon around the s-hooks to "hold" the s-hooks when I'm removing heads :)

    2. I don't really play physically. More like, style them and experiment with angles and movements for photos.

    3. When I am motivated and have inspiration, I play with my dolls whenever I have time. For me, playing doesn't just mean holding/posing, it can make making something for them or painting a face, etc. When I'm in a bit of a slump, I tend to stay away from my dolls, but I still try to make time for them.

    4. Lately, I've been exhausted by work so I've been holding them and dressing them up. My dolls really comfort me after a long day.

    5. For me, I play with them when I feel like it, it can be daily for a bit, and then I don't do anything for a few weeks. I also just moved so I'm still making my office space useable.

    6. Good question! I was wondering the same because I don’t really “play” with my dolls. I mean I do have them out and sitting pretty with me for de-stressing purposes. They’re there to listen to me complain about stressful days at work and they make me happy when I see them.

    7. Everyday. :3nodding:

    8. Sometimes every day, sometimes once a week or once every two weeks. It depends on how busy I am!

    9. Playing with them is pretty much whenever I'm free, which sadly work doesn't allow most of the time :'( But I try to interact with them everyday at least. It feels weird if I don't greet them "good morning" or "good night" at least :'3 If they're in the room with me, I'll give them head pats when I greet them :XD:

    10. Every month, but after finishing their face up (5 or 6 heads), I'll take a rest and keep them aside for few months. LOL

    11. I take photos of them once in a while and just sitt and hold them quite a lot.

    12. It depends on how I’m feeling. When not feeling well,I’ll have a doll or two out to play with while I’m in bed sick. Other times I try to play with my dolls at least once a week in rotation. In groups of 3 or 4.

    13. You know? Not often enough! That's down to my health, I'm afraid.
For me, playing with them is changing their clothes, doing photoshoots, making them models for my historic costuming hobby, and even doing their maintenance makes me very happy. I do like the process of doing dolly aesthetics and mods when I have the energy that it's not just Work, and the results are amazingly rewarding.

    14. Everyday! Some days it's just holding them and hugging them but I think that counts.

    15. I play with my doll less than the time I discuss dolls with other people.

I don’t really know what can I do with them except from changing their clothes and taking photos.

    16. I don't play with them much. They mostly just sit/stand around, which is fine by me since I'm ok with just looking at them :)

    17. I will have a dress-up sesh once a week!

    18. Same here :love I need to at least do that once per day.

    19. When ever i have the energy or time. With 3 curious cats that also wants my attention, preferably all Day, its a bit hard, but I look at Them every Day :) also often bringes one or two with me for comfort when i need to do something that tends to tigger me emotionally.

    20. I have not played with my crew in a while , but that is because life came at me with Hell Fire and it was all I could do to keep from being burned alive. I am planning on getting back to playing and photostories very soon . Life seems to be moving at a slower pace now and I am able to breathe again. When I think about playing again I get excited and think about how calming it is and feeling like the little girl I wanted to be when I was a little girl. I have always loved toys and dolls and imaginative play not to mention storytelling. I can't even imagine my crew sitting in boxes or cabinets .... makes me so sad. Now that being said I do understand that some people in this hobby see their dolls as art or complex figurines and keeping them like that is their choice and honestly that is just fine too.
