1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How Old Are You (continued)

Mar 16, 2015

    1. I'm 21, feel quite old despite not being anywhere near it within the hobby. I got my first doll last year, but I've wanted a BJD since I watched Doll Master when I was 13.

    2. I'm 26. I first fell in love with BJDs when I was in high school, but I would've never been able to afford them then. I loved the Volks dolls I looked at, and I printed pictures of them and everything. Then I graduated, went through a few jobs, started community college, and one day it hit me that I could afford BJDs after years of not thinking about it! It was a really good day... I got my first doll in 2011, from Peakswoods, when I was 22. :3

    3. I am 22 and bought my first doll when I was 20, I believe. I have only been in the hobby for a few years and only have a few dolls.

    4. I'm 24, turning 25 in December. I don't have a doll yet but plan on getting my first one this year, I've been wanting one for several years and I'm finally in a position where I can afford one, so woo! I feel like I'm joining the hobby a little late though, haha.

    5. I'm turning 30 this year. I've been in the hobby since 2008 (with Dollmore Model and Glamor Model Doll. I got a Mecha Angel Saiph, but sold her -- to my utmost regret); but got sidetracked with porcelain dolls, vinyl Masterpiece dolls, and reborns. My bjd love slowly crept in by 2012, and I got another bjd by 2013 (Magical angell Iris), and Dollmore Trinity doll Persona pathos Lumie. I see myself staying in the hobby for good.

    6. i started playing then in my early 20s
      i m in my early 30s now :)

    7. I'm turning 28 in this October. I've been fallen for bjd since I was in high school, but had no chance to own one at that time. After graduated and began my working life, I forgot all about this interest until last year when I ran into some random bjd pictures, I thought may be it's time to have my own ones :)

    8. I'm 24, will be turning 25 this year and I started collecting dolls when I was 18, bought my first BJD when I was 20.

    9. Oh dear, I'm old compared to you guys. I'm nearly 59. Good side of this is that I have a wealth of experience with sewing and making clothing for bjds and as soon as I have posted enough postings on doa I'll be able to advertise my etsy store. lol.

    10. I'm 27. I've known about BJDs for years but I was too busy collecting other things to pay them any mind. I recently got into Pullip and Blythes but there was something about them that didn't satisfy me... so I moved on to BJDs :)

    11. Wow, so many people in their 20s here! I'm your granny's age (65) and if I had started collecting bjds in my 20s, I'd probably have a gazillion dolls by now LOL. As it is, I started collecting bjds 3 years ago and have 7 dolls.

    12. I'm 24, and first doll I had buy in the age of 19)

    13. I'm 22, I've been collecting dolls for about two years now. I currently own 10.

    14. I am even older (72) and do have a gazillion dolls. Most are OT, but 14 are BJD's the first of which joined me 8 years ago.

    16. I am 23 and got my first lovely lady last year - haven't stopped loving them since! :)

    17. I'm 22 in November! Been in the hobby since I was 14. :)

    18. I just turned 25 last month and also ordered my first doll for the occasion. And since then I've already ordered a floating head and a 70cm boy on layaway. I haven't even received my first doll but I'm already working on getting a lot more!! ^^;

    19. I'm 19, and just discovered the hobby early this year, maybe in March? I don't yet have my first doll, but I'm hoping to order one this year. However I did just recently get a practice head, and even though it's got no eyes, no wig, and no body, I already love it!

    20. I am 22. I joined the hobby officially when I was 17 after researching them for years! Wow, time has passed so quickly!
