1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How Old Are You (continued)

Mar 16, 2015

    1. YOU GO GIRL! LOL

I already replied a few pages back, but I'll say it again. I'm old!
I'm going to be turning 66 tomorrow and I am not ashamed of being a doll collector. I've collected dolls of one variety or another most of my life. My best friend who is also my age, has just gotten her first BJD and she is like a little kid, playing with her doll, making furniture and accessories, and just loving it.

We're not bored housewives or anything like that either. We're both retired professional career women. And we're proud to be BJD owners.

    2. I bought my first bjd when I was 17 and I'm now 26. Time sure flies.

    3. i am 26 only been collecting for 3 years, only this year its been more serious. when i was 18 i kinda like bratz dolls as i had no idea bjds existed if i had i think i would have started collecting them since then

    4. I'm 22, and I got my first doll last year. I was always curious about dolls and figurines, but never got into any of it until recently. I'm so glad I did. This is a wonderful hobby!

    5. Snarkin, I'm with you!

    6. I'm 18 and I'm saving up for my first bjd :dance

    7. I'm 27 and I've had my first doll for nearly 10 years.

    8. I'm 26 and got in the hobby 10 years ago. I remember all the crappy part time jobs to support this hobby at 16.

    9. I'm 23 but, heard about these little beauties and signed up here when I was 16 or 17. Had dolls since about then, too. But am getting more hands-on by now. Bigger dolls still make me kinda skittish though. lol I've been sewing clothes for my smallest doll, lately. XD

    10. I'm old and got in the hobby over 10 years ago. I had a full-time job by then, so it was a good time to get into dolls!

I love that it really doesn't matter what age you are in this hobby. I was into dolls and anime and goth and music and cons and comics and costumes-before-it-was-cosplay way before some of the people here were born, but it's all cool! :)

    11. Hi!
I'm 21 and have liked and collected dolls for a few years now. Started early, I guess)
My collection is small but steadily growing because I have still lots to collect and achieve =)

    12. 24 over here, my interest died down 6 years ago but is now rekindled!

    13. I haven't posted in one of these thread since I first joined. I am 21 now, but I was 13 when I joined DOA, 14 when I got my first doll! C:

    14. You are my idol and I want to be like you one day! I have loved dolls since forever and I am 31 now. I have collected other dolls in the past and it has now led me to the path of BJD! I am afraid I am inexperienced and late to the BJD game, but better late than never, right? :)

    15. I was 15 when I got into the hobby but now I'm 21! Gosh time sure does fly!

    16. I first got interested in this hobby through DeviantArt, and a few years later I joined DoA (2008). I'm now 22 and I'm getting my fourth doll soon. I'm so happy I found this hobby, it has given me a completely judgment free community, that's something that's hard to get and I like that a lot about the hobby.

    17. I got into the hobby when I was 12 (thanks for that, DA) and now I'm 22. I've only ever owned one doll and had to sell her a year later to get money to fix my car. But now everything has settled down and once my BF and I get our apartment in December I can finally get started back up with my hobby.

    18. I'm 26, I got my first doll when I was 25. :)

    19. I’m old enough to be your mother.

    20. When I was little I collected barbies. Stopped playing with barbies at 13... Then at 16 ( a month before I turned 16) I found bjds. I've been here for almost 10 years. I regret nothing! I will be 25 next month. I have no intentions of stopping. I did about half a year ago but I bought a lati, and fell in love with the hobby again.
