1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    2. I.m 23 and I started when I was 20 with my boyfriend ith the dollfie dream Red Sabe.r

    3. I was 19 when I got my first doll <3

10 years later my love for them is still strong. :)

    4. I'm 21 and have been in the hobby since I was 18~ :whee:

    9. 28 now, got Soom-ed when I was 22 or 23.

    10. I'm 16 and I've been in the hobby for about 5 years! I started collecting dolls when I was around 13. :)

    11. 21, got my first doll at 13! I never realize how long it's actually been.

    12. 22 now and my first BJD arrived when I was 14 :)

    13. I'm 31 now and was 29 when I started collecting Azone Pure Neemos... which led to a Dollfie Dream shortly after I turned 30, and then a mixed collection of DDs and Resin now. It's hard to believe that I'm going to have (at least) 11 girls by the time I'm 32... lol

    14. I am 43, and i started with Bjds about ten years ago with a Volks Nono. I had a pretty size able Barbie and Fashion royalty collection, and then saw the Volks booth at IFDC con in Vegas. The beauty of the dolls, their pose-ability, it was a pivot point in my collecting. I haven't purchased a Barbie in eons, but i never seem to lack the hope of another Bjd coming into the family! :) My son even has his own BJD lol. I think it is also a blessing that these dolls are so open for interpretation, limited only by your imagination, it allows them to transcend barriers, and it is opening up doll collecting in general to a new world of possibilities!

    15. I'm 26. I just got into this hobby very recently. My family doesn't even know about it yet. I think my S/O thinks it's just a phase. But I have 5 already.

    16. I am 25, but I got my first doll, a CP Delf Chiwoo, 10 years ago when I was 15. I still have him - and needless to say this hobby has definitely survived the "fad" phase for me! I think it's more of a lifetime venture now. haha

    17. Okay, so I'm absolute shit at maths and I don't know why I did this, but I did.

Out of the 339 people who answered this question
      18% are teens
      60.5% are 20's
      21.5% are 30+

So I wonder if that means in a general pondering that 40% of the 20-somethings will move on and away from the hobby? Or something like that?

Becaaaause, that means I DO have a chance of snagging someone's 4arm sandy skin Souldoll Shiva.....<rubs hands together in a villainous manner> yessss....she will be mine, oh YUS, she will be.

    18. @Vesuvia, unfortunately, your math is not to be really trusted anyway, due to sample size; this is the second version of this thread, meaning that a large number of the older users (both in time on DoA and linear time) have already responded and will not be responding to this second thread with a repeat of their original comment. You'd get a better result if you picked up the older thread, with a much larger sample size than this one.

    19. Or not. My math is never to be trusted. Thanks for the logic. :3nodding:

    20. It would at least be closer. ;) Percentage breakdowns are a lot easier to do than some other, trickier forms of math at least!
