1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How Old Are You (continued)

Mar 16, 2015

    1. I'm 22 and I *think* I got my first BJD when I was 17, so I've been collecting for *around* 5 years. I don't remember exactly, I first collected American Girl dolls, then Pullip, then BJD. I'm just not entirely sure when the transitions happened. :doh

    2. I'm 34, I've collected dolls since childhood - mainly adult-aimed collectible fashion dolls, but i'm pretty new to BJD. Its great to see a wide age range - you are never too old or young for dolls and the pleasure they bring as far as I'm concerned!

    3. I'm now 17. I got my first doll 1 year ago after a year of reasearch. I feel blessed to have parents who trust me and support me with this hobby.

      Kate <3

    4. I'm 37 and have been collecting dolls and other toys for a while, but got my first bjd last year so I'm fairly new to this part of the dollie world.

    5. Turning 18 in.... a few minutes!

Wanted to get a doll since I was maybe 13 but didn't have the money. Now I have money, but can't make up my mind what I want. So no doll yet. :doh
      (First World Problems much)

    6. 23, got my first doll very recently, but I've wanted a BJD since I was about 12 :)

    7. Woow! So many different ages here! I'm 26 and I've discovered this world just some months ago :) When my mom saw pictures of bjds was so amazed about the realism and beauty that I think she kind of is into the hobby too, lol! She wants me to add her here in the age thread, she's 56, so the average is higher now with her :D

    8. I'm 21, and I'll get my first BJD in a few weeks (or months ^^) (I ordered her in December last year but haven't received her yet) :)

    9. I am 17 and recently just started collecting last year !! (my profile says 18 but I clicked the wrong thing :/)

    10. I am 24, and I have been interested in dolls since ever, But collecting them since I was 16 years old

    11. I was 24 when I got my first bjd. That was 10 years ago...

    12. My mantra is I am 40 years old and I still play with dolls. My collections are unique from hand made fabric dolls to a few reborn dolls that I did myself and even a few whimsical "Living Dead Dolls" Have been officially a bjd owner for about a year and a half now. I have 4 dolls total but am looking forward to falling in love with more.

    13. Turning 23 in one week and I just got my first head a couple days after Christmas, but I've been looking at them and wanting bjds since I was in high school, I think I saw my first one when I was 15.

    14. I'm 22, turning 23 this year :kitty2

I've always loved and collected dolls since childhood and when I was 16 in 2009 I got my first BJD and have never looked back since :XD:

I love and collect all kinds of dolls/figures but my BJDs will always be my favourites~ <3

    15. 30 been into doll as long as I remember. I just got into bjds last year.

    16. I'm 21, I'll be 22 in August. I have been into dolls my whole life really, but I got into expensive collectible dolls when I was 13 and I think I got my first BJD when I was 15. I got out of dolls from the ages of 17-20, but I just got my 'first' BJD since getting back into them. :D

    17. I just ordered my first BJD 2012 I think... and stayed with this hobby 'till now.

I'm 30 ... never to old for a lovely hobby like this! ^^

    18. I'm 23 years old now, and waiting for my first doll to arrive. Although, I've collected other dolls for more than three years now, and wanting a BJD ever since I saw them first, which must have been when I was around sixteen? So I've been keeping an eye on them for a good while now.

    19. I'm 35. I discovered BJD's quite some time ago (2004? I remember printing out a guide of how to make a bjd yourself, but gave up when I saw how awesome actual BJD's were! ) but never really got into them enough to buy one until I had one of those random string of Internet discoveries moments one evening.

I think I came across an article of the Tree Change woman customising Bratz dolls, which intrigued me. That took me to people doing faceups and customisation on Monster High dolls, which also led me to Nicole dreams faceup videos on YouTube. And within a week I'd purchased my first bjd! That was in the last week of January this year. How time flies!

    20. Bought my first BJD at 20, which is now 10 years ago. I think I am a pretty standard age for this hobby at 30.
