1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How the heck do you pronounce Delf "Lishe"??

Jul 6, 2005

    1. :mad giggles:

      I'm sorry if I'm dragging this up from a while ago (I found it during a search), but this is the funniest post I've seen in a while! Tehe... I was always wondering too! Me and my mom argued over it a while ago. I thought it was Lee-shay and she thought it was Leesh. tehe

    2. Well I call her "Lee-She" But I dont know if thats right or anything. Concidering its a Korean company its most likely a korean name.. I could ask my friend who is Korean, maybe she would know. Though I am sure she would know right away if she saw how its spelt (character wise)

    3. :D :D :D giggles ^^
      so this post´s been going on for so long I even have my own Lishe here now to witness all the opinions :grin: :grin:

      As I said before, I´d go for the "ree´sheh" japanese romanji version. Anyway, even if nLishe is korean I would never go for the chinese translation LEEE SHEE (LIXI) . Romanization seems to be meant for us foreigners, and for us foreigners the first dolls were the volks ones right? (I mean they were the first ones ever anyway but maybe in korea many poeple got to know they´re own brands first)

      so it would be LISten -SEbstain, LEE-shay , reee´sheh (taking in account they mix uop R/L sounds like in naruo´s character "rock lee")...Lische (if it were a german word)..I think all options are meaning pretty much the same thing^^

    4. I'm the same as Zoi and Noretus. Though I think Li Xi is an awesome name and I wish I'd given it to my girl! ...she's glaring at me. Maybe not, then...

    5. I say Lish-uh, as it seemed French-looking to me, so I expected the 'e' to be pronounced that way...

      Hoo boy. We need a Korean person to record themselves saying it, if we really want to know how it should sound, I suppose...

    6. There's also this thread. If you Google "Enuma Elish" quite a lot of things will pop up.

      Not exactly sure if that'll help any, but no one had pointed out the thread yet XD;;

    7. Newbish question, but... meh >.>;

      How is 'Lishe' pronounced?

      Lee-shee?
      Lih-shee?
      Lih-sh?

      Everyone IRL I ask says different >.>; Sorry if this is a bad topic or in the wrong place or something ;.;

    8. I always assumed it was "leash"

    9. I assumed it was "Leash" as well...I doubt it matters much, but someone should probably find out eventually. ^^;

    10. I would assume that the syllables would be pronounced as Lee-sha (the a as in "arrival" or like the e in accademic) - I´m pretty sure that the "e" in Lishe isn´t silent but might be pronounced like the Latin "e" ... (see pronunciation above in my poor examples)

    11. I had always thought "Lish" until I saw how they write her name on the Korean site. It's "Lee-shee" ^^

    12. I pronounce it Lish... Going by the general asian pronounciation rules however, it should probably be Lish-eh.

      *shrug* I think I'll keep saying Lish though.

    13. Am I then the only one who says "Leash-ay"? XD

    14. I pronouce it 'Leash' too. o_O

    15. Thanks for all your input <3

      I'm still confused though XD I'm just contemplating asking Luts... nah. lol

      I've been pronouncing it 'Lih-shee' for a while but then I started to question it >.>;

      I was reading thse threads, it doesn't look like anyone knows for sure on this forum XD I guess it's up to personal choice then! lol

      I'm just so glad I'm not alone in the confusion XD Seeing as I actually have a Lishe... muha!

    16. We've always pronounced it 'leash'... though my friends and I have started making jokes that it should be pronounced in a way similar to "lich"...

    17. I actually pronounce it "Lee-shee", but everyone else around here pronounces it "Leash". XD I sometimes catch myself saying "leash" as well, but I much prefer "lee-shee".

    18. I too am in the bad habit of pronouncing it "lih-shee". It's, um, a nickname! Lishie! XD

    19. Like Nena said above, the Korean characters spell out the sounds "Lee-shee". Hangul is delightfully phonetic that way~<3
