1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How the heck do you pronounce Delf "Lishe"??

Jul 6, 2005

    1. There was another thread somewhere where someone made a sound file, pronouncing all the names like they were supposed to be, and Lishe was Lee-shee. XD it's the same thread that let me know that Yder was pronounced Ee-dah, not Yih-der.

    2. i pronounce it lih-sh only because i usually go for the easiest pronounciation of things...i don't know why ^^;

    3. I call her Leesh since they once said that El and Lishe got their names from the Enuma Elish epic, and if they're supposed to sound like "Elish" combined, then her bit would be pronounced Leesh.

FWD - let's just not talk about Yder. ^_^

    4. I tend to say LEE-she, just because that's what the word looked like to me when I saw it the first time... A lot of the other people here in the Seattle crew pronounce it LISH.

    5. I call her Leash, I know some people call her Lish and leashie.

    6. No 8D

      *it must be the Dutch*

    7. here, this is from the other thread linked at the top...you can download the sound file at the bottom and hear her say these names :)

    8. Wow, that file is awesome. I had no idea 'Luts' was pronounced like that, I thought it was Luts like huts. I had all of them but Lishe,Yder lol.

    9. Wow, fantastic! XD I didn't even know luts was pronounced differently ^^

      So now we know - Lee-shee X3 <3

    10. Hehe, I knew Luts was pronouced "Loots". xD But I was pretty much surprised of the Lishe and Yder. xDDD I always pronounced Yder "Yuh-durh" or "Ye-durh". xDD Well, that recording totally helped! ^O^

    11. Heh. I'll still be calling her Lishie. I always said it like Y'dur.

But, looking at this thread, I can see why no one can pronounce my actual name right. XDD

    12. People will just pronounce Lishe as they wish, I wouldn't worry.

As others have shown, in Korean, it's LEE-shee. That's got to be "official" as you can get.

But if you're not Korean, then just say it however it is comfortable in your area. Most people will understand what you mean!

I've always known it is properly LEE-shee... but I still say "LISH" (like dish or fish), since it's an easy Americanization of the name. I don't really care, either way. I think it's not a big deal.

(I still say "LUHTS" and "EE-der", too.)

    13. nope I pronounce it that way too :D

    14. Ok this is a true story and I have proof to back it up :)

I meet the owner/CEO of Luts at the New York toy fair last February.

Although he did not speak but a few words of English we communicated through his interpretor and pictures.

I showed him a picture of my Lishe and asked him how to pronouce the name. He quite distinctly said Lih-sh and point at my picture.

He was a lovely man. I hope to see him again in the future.

      Rin

    15. Hehe, now I'm even more confused XD

So the Korean pronunsiation is different to the Luts way now? XD
