It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. How would you feel if someone gave you BJD clothes as a gift?

Dec 24, 2009

    1. i would be really happy , and i would finde a doll that would fitt the outfith that she gott me ^w^

    2. I love getting doll clothes as gifts, but it doesn't happen often. On Christmas when my mom asked what I wanted, I sent her a link to Denver Doll and told her I wanted doll clothes for my MSD. I gave her a few outfit names, but mostly just left it up to her. And she did great! She picked out a really cute set and on top of that picked out some sewing patterns. My ex never really bought clothes to give to me, but a couple times I got a card saying "good for one outfit" or "good for $50 at Denver Doll."

    3. I would cherish it, like if someone special give me an outfit. I wish someday my friend or family would do that for me, would be so awesome. This is a sweet thread btw.

    4. Wow, I would be thrilled. Then again, I am grateful for anything they do for me. (My sister got my Kermit and Marbles dog toys for my most recent birthday. Any Jenna Marble fans will know what I'm talking about :D )

Even if they picked out some clothes at random, I'm bound to have someone that would fit it! My dolls would proudly wear anything my family gave me :) And if I actually had other BJD friends, you can believe they'd be getting BJD-centric presents from me!

    5. I'd be really happy. No one I know has any interest in BJDs so that would mean they'd really thought about what I might want, even if they'd got the size wrong, or picked a style I'm not keen on. I'm pretty good with a needle and thread, so I could probably adapt anything that wasn't quite right.

    6. I would be happy, and if the clothes fit and look good I would be even happier. It's a good thing when I don't have to spend money on clothes when I get new dolls and they don't have to be naked for a few weeks while waiting for their clothes to come in....

    7. As I make all my doll clothes myself so far I'm more likely to be the one giving clothes than recieving them, I think. However, my parents and some of my firends sometimes find other cute miniatures I can use for props. I am always happy when that happens, it means they thought of me when they found the stuff.
Oh, and I just remembered, my mother actually knitted socks for one of my dolls once! Like really tiny miniature knitting. I was quite impressed by that.
They are not exactly my dolls style, but every now and then I want to take a photo of the dolls just looking relaxed and cozy and then the socks come in handy. Most things ususally do sooner or later. So if it's a gift I would keep it.

    8. I would be happy they were supporting the hobby!

I often make BJD clothes to give as gifts, so I don't really see the problem. If you absolutely hate the look, you can always take it to the next swap meet and get something you really enjoy.

    9. I'd be over the moon, honestly! I mean... I understand dolls can be really expensive but, especially if it's coming from someone not directly involved with the hobby, it means they understand how much these dolls and the hobby mean to me and are trying to get me something I could put towards it~ it's an affordable way to show they care about what makes me really happy! even id it's not exactly the style my dolls would wear I have dolls in most available sizes and thus don't have to worry about the fit. I'd make the clothes work for my crew no matter what uvu after all they'd mean a lot to me!

    10. I'd be ecstatic but as BJD clothes are more expensive than mky own clothes it ain't happening anytime soon .:D

    11. I'd honestly be thrilled. My dolls have one outfit each right now, so I'd gladly take anything, even if it isn't really their style or something I had picked out. Honestly, I don't think anyone has every outfit that is exactly their style. As for a wrong size, depending on how off the sizing is, I could try to adjust the outfit, or save it for a doll that it would fit.

    12. I would really love it and found it a nice present :apresent: !

    13. I would be over the moon!!! I think getting anything dollie related as a gift is great!!!

    14. I would just appreciate it. Even if they don't work for my current dolls, they may work for my future doll. The only person that would get me doll clothes that knows very little about them is my boyfriend. If he did, I would hope he is at lest smart enough to go to my roommate for size info. She has BJDs too so she would know. But even if that is not the case, I would be happy with just him buying me stuff for my dolls. It shows me that he understands how happy this hobby makes me.

    15. The whole point of Christmas is going the extra mile to hunt something down for the ones you love. So that they can be surprised and overjoyed, and you get to see that amazing look on their face. this goes double for parents buying for kids in my opinion. If we all just exchange money/gift cards then everyone may as well just buy presents for themselves and call it a day.

    16. I would be very happy and i would love her a different way, it would be a "special doll", the one i couldn't sell because it's a present, so the one i know will always be in my house

    17. I'd be thrilled. As long as the clothes weren't too small (which is unlikely because I have all kinds of size dolls) then I would just try to modify anything I liked. The rest I would probably keep and maybe sell or give them to another dolly friend that would get use out of them.

    19. I would love it but it's unlikely. I doubt anyone in my family could even tell you what size my dolls were. But if they decided to go ahead and buy something and it did turn out to be the wrong size, I wouldn't mention it and I would definitely keep it. It would mean a lot to me to know they made an effort and showed an interest in my hobby.

If someone asked however, I could easily link them to about 30 different things I've been stalking that I would love to have :)

    20. Ahhh if anyone got me BJD clothes I would be absolutely ecstatic! I really don't mind on size since I do plan on owning various sizes. (Though I wouldn't want SD and up). Styles I like to mess with so I'm good with any c: I wouldn't return or sell it unless they were SD or bigger since I don't plan on having that size for quite a long time. Now that I think about it I should see if I can put any on my christmas list haha!
