Huajing-Doll 1/4 Discussion

The fullsets are pretty pricy for Huajing, yeah! But it's also it's the special body + new head + 2 pairs of elf ears + extra heeled feet + heeled shoes + wig, eyes, outfit, wings so I guess the value kind of checks out? I didn't notice that the plain elves (haha) are available as regular dolls, that's good to know! I think it actually makes sense for them to raise the price with the new bodies and sculpts, they seem to have put a lot of work in the aesthetic direction with the new bodies and head sculpts.

@puppymush - if it helps you any: based purely on how the joints are placed, I'd expect more torso movement and slouching poses from the special body. The v4 body has a high bust joint similar to minifees which... I guess you know how useful it is.

 

Yes, I was definitely wondering about that. Slouching is a big priority for my dolls lol. I'm also concerned about the knee joints...the company photos never show whether the body can sit flat on its legs, and I wonder if the knee peanut is large enough (also if the calves are small enough) or if I might have another Minifee situation on my hands, where she's stuck in that awkward half-kneeling pose instead of actually being able to sit on her legs...

 

the special body seems to be a lot more slender than their usual, the neck is listed as being 5.1cm and the waist is 11cm compared to 6.9cm and 14cm respectively.
Their standard body is pretty slim so this one must be VERY slender.

Looks like interchangeable ears too? that's fun. I wonder how that's done. A slot or magnets or what? I'm very curious to see the sculpts blank and get a look at that ear gimmick.

 

They have video on their weibo showing the wings and ears are attached with magnet. Video also shows the movement capabilities of the body, seems to be rather nice.

A really sweet person on IG sent me that video and it pretty much made my decision. I let the event pass without getting one. But hopefully they will eventually release a body with superior kneeling capabilities, because I'd love to have a doll from this company...

 

The two new fairy dolls are absolutely beautiful. Emilia is my personal favourite!

 

Do you think the v4 body always has that slot in the back regardless of whether you order wings or not? Or will they fill it in with resin?

 

You mean the special body? When buying separately, it seems to have a normal smooth back.

Hey guys, does anybody know if there is a difference between this ver.2 body on Dolk and the ver.II body on ACBJD? They look super similar but I noticed the photos are different and most of the measurements are slightly different as well. There could be some variations in the sculpting, but this could be a matter of the lighting or blushing vs no blushing so it's hard to tell.

 

I've been thinking if I should look ahead for some bits I can't make myself before my body arrives, namely shoes. Seems like the foot measurements of the v.4 are quite similar to the earlier bodies - what have you found fitting well for huajings?

 

I didn’t know about this brand and now I am in love with some of their sculpts: Violetta, Ai Xi and Tian Ni are my favorites ❤️

I want those wings ;-; lol I immediatly wanted one of these girls when I saw cause fantasy parts, and body seems pretty. I love Violetta's outfit and Emilia's face.

Yeah I couldn't resist lol I ordered the Emilia fullset with the painted wings. This is my first time ordering a Huajing Doll! I'm used to 6month waits from elsewhere so if she happens to be less I'll be blown away

I'm really excited about the wings. The video sold me with how posable they are! I just adore fairies so she'll fit right into my collection

 

AHHH that's so cool! I love fairies too, I have a tiny fairy bjd, but her posing is ehhhh terrible (single-jointed). I had missed the video, thanks for mentioning it on the thread again, I was thinking of ordering her later on without the wings. Now I am having doubts again haha. I am torn between Emilia (although I would paint the wings myself) and another limited doll. I like the Huajing body a lot, it looks elegant to me.

 

I think the proportions too! This body reminds me of the fashion style that Russian bjd artists do. Except not so malnurished looking Just pretty and elongated!
