Hybrids other than body/head?

Lilja is a Volks MSD F-09, with the exception of her lower right leg. That is a combination of glue, leather and hardware store items I cobbled together to represent a prosthetic. It's not resin, nor is it part of the body she came with.

 

as the text under my username suggests, I make a lot of hybrids. probably half my collection is hybrids in some form or another. mostly it's just heads and hands, but I do have "franken-deer", my HTT bambee head on a female resinsoul body, with legs from a completely different, male resinsoul body, ears from Dreamland Doll Studio, and tons of mods. I have plans to do something similar with my f&j yabi on his dv body- I have some soom hooves ready to go, I just need to actually get around to modding him.

I didn't want to dye her already existing arm for it, so I asked Impl if they'd be willing to sell me a black single arm for her, and they did (among other things I ordered from them)

@MaleficentMrsofEvil the wrist ball-joint of the Xaga hands are a smidge smaller than the Dollmore Kidult ones, so they should fit fine. Xaga's Fairy White is probably a better color match for Dollmore's Normal than the Xaga Normal.

 

I enjoy hybriding various Soom legs on non-Soom bodies. It's pretty common for me to hybrid heads and bodies of various companies, but the hands and legs hybriding is fun too. My most recent one is my Soom Chrom, who has a DF-A 65cm boy body with the Soom Chrom paws from the knees down. The fit is horrible, but with enough hot glue stuffed in there he stands. Besides, he always wears pants anyway!

I have a bunch more hybrids similar to his composition. The most creative one has to be my Soom Beyla human head on a Soom Glot torso with Soom Eliv arms, and a Peapod doll mermaid tail. I bought her like that though secondhand, and she is adorable.
My Resinsoul Ai is a similar hybrid, on a DF-A V2 60cm girl body with Soom Beryl hooves. I hated her single jointed body from Resinsoul, so I pieced her together out of parts I liked better.

My Soom Beyla unicorn is on a Fairyland LTF body with Daiys Dayes hooves, which were sculpted for that body. She's a fun little triple hybrid.
Then My Dollzone Stramonium has a Ringdoll Mechanical arm in 1/3 size, which is way too big for her dainty little arm, but it works as a cool cybernetiy/prosthetic addition to her character.

A more tame hybrid is my Dollzone Asura/Chen on a DF-A 68cm girl body with Doll Chateau Youth jointed hands as the hands she came with reminded me of paddles, and the sculpting on them is an after thought at best.

I do have another fun hybrid across 2 sizes and 3 companies. My Dollzone Miss Kitty is a 1/6 scale head, but I have her on a Doll Chateau K-01 body with Soom Little Gem Cheshire paws. Just to be even more extra, she has DC 1/4 scale jointed hands that typically come with the K-07/11 etc bodies.

Oh man, I didn't really realize just how many weird hybrids I have, and this isn't even all of them. I have 40 dolls, and a good chunk of them are hybrids in one shape or form, and many are secondhand or have secondhand parts.

 

Yes, I do hybrids I have one doll which i constructed of 3 different dolls, which included chopping off whole upper leg parts, to fit another upper leg part form a different doll into it, dyeing to match it all, making the hand joint smaller etc. My biggest hybrid work was joining a Resinsoul Yao body with a DollLeaves body and a Supia head, and then I gave the head a horns mod too to wear horns. At the end i heavily modded the Resinsoul Yao hooves feet, into more horse like hooves. Carving, ApoxySculpt and dyeing was working out great for the hooves I love hybrid work!
She has a Supia hannah head, the torso/arms/upper leg joint insert is DollLeaves, faun legs (except upper leg insert that attaches into the body), horns, hands and hooves are ResinSoul.
I sadly don’t have better images, until I will give her a outfit, faceup and will take some good outdoors images.

This is Aneirin: Dollshe Saint head, home sculpted ears, dyed Little Monica body, Soom Benmore hands, Soom Monzo leg parts, all very much modded to go together in any way at all.

Hybrids galore!

 

Thank you! Yes, I shared the whole process on my IG account in detail (AmandaSue_BJD) And yes, that’s what I did.
So the Resin soul upper leg was a one piece, so i cut off the rounded part that sat in the hip. It was way to thin/narrow to be okay inside the DollLeaves upper body/hip. The Doll Leaves legs had a hip to upper leg insert for rotation. So I modded the ResinSoul upper leg, carved into the inside, Until it would fit nicely and sanded to smooth them together as “one flush leg” again No ApoxySculpt for this mod. She has faun and human legs she can switch between therefore. I kept the human legs from the DollLeaves body and fitted it all so she can switch.

 

I have an old Elfdoll with Resinsoul hands on right now. I am not sure if I will keep those on her or put back Elfdoll hands. I also have an Fdoll body with Elfdoll hands.
I find I try out switching hands often since sometimes I think some hands look too big/small for a given head, or I do not like the gesture. I also temporarily or permanently change hands in order to more easily dress some of my BJDs.

I am not very creative, my only hybrid is a head/body mix.

 

My most frankened doll is a doll I aptly named Franka. It is a modded Dream Realm Rad Coreco head on an early Dollmore body with iDoll legs. Both body and legs have been heavily modified.

I have a victorian conservatory display of various plant types in my collection, so I became quite enamored of Dollzone’s Renata vine arms when she was released. I purchased one body for a Doll Chateau Alberta head I’d gotten in a split, but the arms arrived broken. My dealer contacted the company and got replacements of course. But in the meantime, my husband was trying out a new kind of glue and experimented on the broken arms…and it worked! So I used the repaired arms with a Luts pumpkin head and body, and now I’m thrilled to have two vine-armed girls in the conservatory!
