1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

I take issue with the term 'Random Eye Color'! Do you?

Jan 8, 2012

    1. I more worry about the phrase 'random wig'. That could mean anything!

    2. Haha no kidding!

    3. I have mixed feelings on it. On one hand, it's nice they are free...on the otherhand, I prefer darker eyes (or pink or purple) and have seen some dolls I really like, but feel they look iffy with certain colors so it's kind of a mixed bag.

    4. LOL, someone who actually wants pink eyes! I got free pink eyes while i would have been happy with any natural color.

    5. I consider that "Random Eye Color" option is a present from firm. "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth". Anyway almost everybody change default eyes for another: more suitable or may be more expensive.

    6. Hehe :) I like some of the like...pale magenta or the strawberry-ish color eyes especially for pink eyes--or even a pinkish brown. I wouldn't want hot or bright pink eyes though.

    7. I keep opening this thread and regretting it. it honestly makes me want to bang my head against the wall to see quibbling over something that costs less than a coffee and a muffin when this forum is dedicated to big, ultimately useless, but over all ridiculously expensive, dolls.

if buying eyes for your customisable doll is really a problem, just buy something with the eyes painted on. Or stick to good old volks. I know, it's totally uncool to buy volks dolls now but every doll has an allocated eye colour. No more random!

    8. I don't know about you, but I don't complain about free things.

    9. I find it frustrating, since I do prefer certain eye colors for my dolls, but I don't think it's something I'd stress over too much. I simply purchase the eyes I want for my doll along with my doll order, and I'll sell the "random eyes" if I don't like them. :)

    10. Well, though i dislike the fact of them not giving us the option.I do agree with what others have said in the company not carrying the color requested.

I do respect the company's which allow us to pick. And i adore the company's which allow comments and you commenting requesting.^-^

    11. Hmm, well I think it would be nice to be able to choose your eye color to save a little extra money. However companies may not be able to cater to everyone's needs.

    12. Most doll companies also sell eyes. You have the option to purchase a pair of eyes in the color you want along with your doll. When you buy a doll, you're paying for the DOLL. The random eyes they throw in? Those are a GIFT.

Some companies don't even give you those! If you don't buy eyes with the doll, they send you an eye-less doll!

The color of the eye =/= color of an expensive car. A.) It's very difficult and expensive to repaint a car. B.) You CAN choose the color of your doll's skin, which I think would be a closer simile. Like how hard is it to buy and install the color eyes you want? Not very, that's how hard. For me, it was $11 and five seconds.

How entitled are people on this board? Geeze.

    13. I only have one doll so far with another on the way but i got pretty sky blue eyes with my first ... i changed them due to the doll having green eyes as a character but i love the surprise of opening her up and going ooooooh at it

    14. Nope, I've never really thought about it actually. I'm just glad they're free.

    15. I don't get frustarted but I buy extra eyes for my doll of the right colour for the character. I don't mind having a collection of eyes because i have one doll i liked to change the eyes. Plus with my last doll i bought eyes that i thought where "right" for him. But i liked the FREE random pair that came with him much better. So i kept them in instead.

I understand that people have "set" character idea's and with a lot of my dolls i do as well. However i think free eyes you can't really knock. Also because some people buy the doll first, then things later when they have the cash, it is better they come with some eyes. So you don't have to deal with a creepy eye less doll until you have the cash.

The companies don't have to give you them, they are a free extra. So it seems silly that people complain to me. Especially if you really don't like them, you can always sell them.

    16. HAHAHA! Well you can always go for color contacts LOL.

Thank you for THIS. I too am surprised something like this can be discussed for up to this many pages.

    17. I personally love the surprise of getting different colored eyes. For one they don't have to and it gives me the chance to try colors I may not have before. For example I don't like the idea of brown eyes, but if i happen to get them I would try it out and see if I really do or don't like them.

    18. this. a lot.
it's exactly like when we have clients who come to the garage with their big BMW but don't want to pay for half of the stuff the car needs! >.< you should have bought a f**king honda then!
      </rage>

    19. I don't take issue with it, but there are times where I'd like to be able to specify it--even if it's for an extra (small) fee. I'd feel like I was wasting a pair of eyes that I couldn't find a buyer for if they weren't to my taste. Something like being able to specify size or color (even just "green" and to then get a random shade of green from their available inventory) would be nice, but I'm sure it would be a pain for the companies.

    20. Im glad they give a set of eyes with the dolls, its kind of like a nice surprise when they are just random , but then i didnt have any colors in mind when i ordered my girls, so for those people who DO mind about color, they should have a place to request color in the ordering :)
