If You Had To Choose One

Most of my dolls are pretty replaceable, and at least half were on the cheap side.

I think I'd be between Suha, my Black Cherry Dolls Zeri, and Orchid, my Cusp. Both would be more difficult to replace; Orchid is a OOAK doll, so she might get priority. Even if it would be hard, there's a chance of waiting for Black Cherry to open their orders again. Same with my seed.arts Wol head - I love her but I know the artist is working on an updated version, so there would probably be heads for sale at some point. Everyone else is unlimited; it might be hard to lose them, but I could get them back.

 

I'm on the cusp of 60 full dolls... so goodness gracious, identifying the one that would rise to the top as my 'chosen' one seems impossible (but I humored this exercise knowing I won't be selling anyone right now). Although I agree with some other users, that in time I know that it might make more sense space wise to thin down the crew. Right now I'm just not ready to do that.

Probably my top 5 I couldn't bring myself to sell (in no particular order):

1. LUTS SDF Dion - my first doll of almost 15 years... all my other BJDs would not have coming into being without him.
2. Volks SD17 F-38 - He's unique among F-38s because he was modded by one of my favorite artists, alison_sky. He was also my very 1st Volks doll that started my love for Volks dolls.
3. Volks Williams - He was my first real grail doll that I paid a stupid amount of money for. :P The shock and disbelief I felt at that time acquiring him was like nothing else.
4. Souldoll Jinwoo - my 2nd oldest doll, purchased a few months after my first and been a special gem in my collection since he was only offered for a week's period so long ago.
5. Volks SD17 Shadow Shiro Tachibana - probably the 2nd grail in my collection who has such a beautiful one-off faceup that probably couldn't be replaced/re-purchased if he left.

...and the chosen one... (ie. someone held a gun to my head to choose)... My Volks Williams. Aside from the emotional attachment of this doll, I financially invested a LOT in him. He's not financially worth much now since he's been re-released may times, but in terms of what I put into him, he's probably my most expensive doll I've created. For those reasons I couldn't let him go.

 

I think I would keep the oldest doll I have left. That is Keshi, my Dollstown Soph B (the one on my avatar).
Even if I'm torn between her and my Otherside doll, which is more rare... but I think Keshi and her many outfits is a better choice.

 

If I could only run out of the burning house alive with grabbing just one doll to save, it would be my DollsTown Seola7, not a second of hesitation.

 

Shrike. That’s not even a question. I briefly considered Devon, because she’s the same sculpt as shrike, Lilith because she’s nearly irreplaceable, and Vidania because she’s a very important character for me to be able to project on. But it will always be Shrike. I’ve had her character for 2/3 of my life, and written her virtually every year of that. She’s my favourite sculpt on my favourite body. It would absolutely suck, losing lilith who I might never have the chance to own again, and having shrike but no Aura, and Amor and her awesome hybrid and Cassandra. But if I can only have one doll, it’s always gonna be her.

 

I would absolutely keep my first Dollfie!

The reason? Because it's the only doll I have right now ._.

 

My tan minifee karsh, only because I think he is the one who is technically an actual rare doll? I guess?
I know fairyland in recent years has offered tan all the time. But I know back then there were only certain periods. Also he is rhe first bjd I found and fell in love with.

 

Probably my Emmeline! She's my favorite and my good luck charm!

I could get it down to the last few, but not to any single one.

Give up Al ("OG" Breakaway)? Not even.

Teacup (Elf Shiwoo)? Heck no.

Harumatsu and Tien Jen (my first dolls, the Shiwoo twins)? What... Are you kidding me?

Solomon? Darcy? Bennu? (rare Lati guys) Nope. I'd never be able to replace them.

Shonokin or Ifri (Volks Kiriko and Oscar)? Don't make me get stabby, here.

What I'm saying is favorites are favorites. They're not going anywhere.

 

I would keep my Doll Chateau Gladys. The reasons are personal and she still needs me to paint her arm and leg but that would be the one.

 

I... would take both the big girl and big boy -- one is limited edition and the other is discontinued. Can't replace them, so they're both coming with me. But since the little girl and machina are in the same bags as the big kids, they will come too. Welp, that's my whole crew - I rescued them all!

But if I really must keep one, it'll be my Crobidoll Lance girl - every part of her is irreplaceable these days.

 

I think out of the 4 dolls left, I would probably grab my first doll, the Luts Woori, purely due to my connection as my very first doll. Grabbing either of the two bigger boys would probably make more sense since they're limited/no longer in production lol.

Funnily enough I think it's a doll in my wish-list that would actually be 'The One' if I had him currently. I get the feeling that doll is going to be my absolute favorite once I actually own him (the Amerai Ryou, chompy teeth boy).

 

OH Gosh, I would be devastated to get rid of any of my dolls. It would seriously mean something awful has happened in my life. IF in a situation I could only grab one it would be my Romantic Dillui Gem Doll from Soom. She was my first bjd and her sculpt is super old and discontinued, I also received her as a birthday gift from my family they saved up money and put her on layaway (I was in middle school at the time). That doll holds a lot of sweet memories for me and all of my other dolls can easily be replaced atm. But like as old as she is, she is also my best upright poser and could and still can stand on her own right out the box unlike the others I own lol.

 

I don’t know if I could keep only one doll . . . I don’t even want to entertain the thought. I feel as if I could only comfortably part with two or three of them, and that’s only because they’re unfinished projects.

I want to say that I’d only keep my first doll, but my favourite at the moment is my Loongsoul Snowball, so I’d probably only keep her if I absolutely had to choose. That being said, I have no intention on parting with any of them any time soon.

 

This would be a difficult choice because I love so many of my dolls. If I could only keep one it would have to be my Volks FCS Ever Beauty F73, since she was my first resin BJD. But I'm glad to have a little variety in my collection!

 

It wouldn't be my first, second, or even third doll [I'm so sorry my pretty boys...].

I have just started collecting and was fortunate enough to buy second-hand Doll Chateau Christina head. Even without body, [yet] face-up and styling this sculpt is so dear to me for some other-wordly reasons. I literally want to keep her around all the time.

I suspect she'd compete with DC Bella that I'm currently waiting for, because Bella is such a heart-melting cutie.

 

I would struggle to part with my Shinydoll as she was a grail, and virtually impossible to replace. But my Huajing Kui Ning holds a special place in my collection, as does my Ai Xi… so really, I would have to keep three.

 

This would be so hard! But I think if I could really only choose one, I’d grab Ambrose (Withdoll Jiho w/ Scowling Face) because he was a birthday gift from my husband, so there’s some sentimental value there that I don’t necessarily have with my others.

 

Oh no! That would be a tragedy.

It would be between my Minifee Liria and my Honey Delf centaur based solely on how hard they would be to replaced and the fact I would desperately want to. If really pushed, I would save my centaur but mourn the others for a very long time.

 

It's a very difficult question. I dont't think I could chose only one of my dolls... Maybe I'll chose Megumi, my Volks Nono 1st gen. but I would chose all of them if I could
