1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

If You Had To Choose One

Aug 8, 2022

    1. I guess if it was like “pick one doll to keep or die” I would pick Bellamy, my SOOM Romantic Dillui, because I have no idea how I would replace her and she was my first doll. If not her, then Genadiy, my Breakaway, and if not him, then Krasnya, my Souldoll Moa. I can probably replace and recreate the others, but those three are all limited or discontinued…

    2. I didn't post here because I didn't want to jinx it. I've been very bad at keeping dolls around because my tastes change so often, so I didn't want to post something and then sell that doll off immediately after...

I feel pretty comfortable saying now though, that it's my iMda Amellia, because she's, well... The only one still around. She's the first doll I gave up trying to shoehorn into a specific character (they never match my art style anyways...) and now just go with "vibes".

    3. I honestly do not know. I think I would rather sell them all than keep only one and then regret my choice and come to resent the doll I kept.

I would probably quit the hobby and maybe keep the CCC hedgehog fairies because I have a big hedgehog figurine collection they could live in.

    4. I always joke that if i had to keep one it'd be Stella, and I'd slide Pip the puki into my pocket when no one was looking.
This is Stella. Fairyland Littlefee Pipi mod, very OOAK

    6. If I could only keep one, it would be my Parker, my Irrealdoll Nur. She has been with me for 4 years and I feel I am only one who knows how important she is.

    7. Similar for me. I would keep my first, my Volks Link, Hiro. He's the basis for my entire collection, and I wouldn't have the rest of them if it weren't for him. All of the others are connected to him in some way, and whenever I consider buying a new one, I make sure they will look "right" with him.

If I had it all to do again, I wouldn't buy as many. XD

    8. That’s a really hard call, but I think I’d keep my Magic Mirror Levon. He’s really special because finding him and figuring out his character launched the characters for every other BJD in my collection, even though he is my 9th doll LOL

I wasn’t really sure what to do with my BJD’s until he came along. ^.^

    9. This is a a tough choice. I’ve been building my collection since 2009 and have 17 dolls plus 11 floating heads. Most are long-discontinued sculpts that rarely come up for sale in the Marketplace. Assuming this is the House On Fire scenario, I’d be able to rebuild my collection because we’re insured so I’d grab my Dollshe Bernard Ethan for sentimental reasons. If I have time, I’d throw all the heads in a bag.

    10. Definitely Liora, my fragile dolls joodella. She has a special place in my heart due to the character she represents, and she would be the hardest to replace.

    12. I'm a bit scared of how easy it is to answer for me - definitely Nuoyi who is a Doll Legend practice head and Soulkid body hybrid. Very much not an expensive or super rare doll in any way, and also not my first ever, but her expression constantly amuses me like no other doll I've ever owned (which is only a handful, but still). She gives me so many ideas that I could happily manage having her as my only one, although I do like that she has a bit of company to hang out with. I don't know - something in her makes me feel like she's my ride-or-die if it came down to grabbing one, even though she contains parts from 3 different companies and none of the resins match nicely and I doubt anyone would want to buy her in one piece anyway.

    13. for me it's my volks syo.. when i first saw a syo i instantly fell in love. she is so far the only doll i have that is "complete" but i do plan on changing her up and letting her grow as time goes. i got her during a rough (the roughest) time of my life so that's definitely part of it. when i unboxed her and saw her i was like... ok that's it i can get rid of all my other dolls.. She's The One... dramatic....

    14. Well so much for never. I sold her after all as found my hands couldn't deal with her fussy joints and especially since husband and I won't be traveling like we used to. So she's found a new home and is traveling the East Coast.

    15. That's a hard question because I really love all my MSD sized resin BJDs. That being said it's been like 8 years since I had an SD sized resin BJD doll and I just got the doll I've been wanting badly ever since I first saw him in a friend's collection. I wasn't going to go up in size. I was going to stick with MSD sized dolls because space is tight here. But I don't think he's ever been available in a smaller size. I've not seen it. So SD it had to be.

In order to get him for a price I could afford I had to buy him used. He's a hybrid. I got him that way because he's just really expensive boy on his original body and you just don't see him even sold that often. Not even as a head. After looking for quite a while I got lucky finally. I found him at a really decent price. The seller practically gave him away so it was definitely meant to be.

So I'd have to say my new resin boy he is definitely top boy around here right now.

I won't say who he is because I am saving his debut till I have him all costumed up and when his new face is done. But he's going to be GORGEOUS when I am done.

      :)

    16. OHhh my god . . . painful question since a few of my MSDs would be a pain to replace and I really do love them.

But no hesitation, I'd definitely keep my DollZone MiYou, Minou, one of my little YOSDs. For whatever reason, he's just the one I instantly bonded with the most. And I'm a sentimental weirdo, so even though I could find another MiYou relatively easily, it wouldn't be THAT MiYou, the little one who's slept on my bed with me since the day I got him, who I hold and cuddle and talk to all the time.

As much as I adore most of my other dolls, Minou is my little baby and I could never give him up :pout:
Even if I do leave the hobby and sell most of my dolls one day, he's the one I'll definitely always keep with me.

    17. I've been struggling with trying to downsize for a while, so this question has been on my mind a lot! I have a 40cm Obitsu that is my usual answer to the question, because she's the one I take the most pictures of and the one I tend to carry everywhere...and she's also so heavily modded that replacing her would be a MASSIVE pain, and the replacement would never be quite the same.

But then I ended up putting the thought experiment into practice a little too literally recently - we had a fire alarm scare at my apartment, and the only one I grabbed (despite having a couple dozen dolls in addition to that Obitsu, quite a few of them irreplaceable or sentimental) was Verdigris...because I keep her in her carrier bag in my room as a nightlight, so she was on my way out.

So apparently, my REAL answer is "whoever's closest". XD
Thankfully the fire alarm was a false alarm, so now I have time to figure out some way to keep my Obitsu on my person at all times...

    18. I only have one doll, so that's easy for me!

Though I have a second one on the way.
If I REALLY had to make such a decision though, I would stick with my first

    19. If I could only save one, it would have to be Aiyu, my F60 Juri 2012. She's been my grail for a very long time and she would be the hardest one to replace, logistically speaking.

That said, giving up the rest of my crew would gut me, so I hope I never have to!

    20. I think about it quite often and, if I had to keep only one doll in my collection, it would probably be my 5th motif Venitu.
my mom helped me to buy him (as a partial gift) and she passed after a few months.
he's not my most played doll, but I tend to be attached to him because of her.

I don't see myself selling like 25 dolls from my collection (the list of those who I refuse to sell), but if it was a bizarre case of "stay with one single doll or your whole house will fall apart" or something life critical l, then it should be him.
