1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Iffy auction?

May 5, 2007

1. I am confused because there have been so many different pictures being switched in the ebay auction...first Dollzone dolls, then different bodies, and pictures of 1/4 scale dolls that are listed as being 1/3 scale dolls (but not for sure, because there seems to be conflicting answers to that question)

Here is a head picture from Angel of Dream site:

and this is the head picture in the ebay auction:

Not the same sculpt. This is also the doll that has been listed as both 1/3 and 1/4. But, the first photos of the clothed doll are the same as the 1/4 doll listed on the AoD site.

edit: the second picture is this http://aoddoll.com/showproduct.asp?id=81 doll, another AoD doll. Too many photo mistakes.

And the page looks as if it was made by taking a snap shot of another site, because the side links don't work. It also looks nothing like the AoD site, and sells a lot of other things besides the AoD dolls. I know other companies sell different brands, but none of these things are being sold on the actual AoD site.

The site I am looking at is here: http://aoddoll.com/index.asp) and it looks fairly nice, so if Mr. Chang/Zhang is an official AoD employee (or is he just an official agent?) then why is he using an amateur looking copy of what looks like someone else's store front to sell AoD dolls when their own site looks professional?

If he is an agent for AoD that is fine, and his company is Hotdollzone (unfortunate choice of name, but whatever) but is he an independent agent with his own store, or is he from Angel of Dream? And who is Mr. Sun?

In any case, it is very confusing, wheter or not Mr. Zhang is an independent agent or is an actual part of the AoD company, he has caused a lot of problems for AoD by using other doll company photos in the ebay listings (as well as inconsistent photos).

Updating the photos are all well and good, but at this point it doesn't repair his credibility for me ("hey scammer, you are using Dollzone pics in your AoD auction...these pics (url address) are different." "Oh, thanks, I'll fix that." Goes to correct url to steal correct photos and updates auction) Not saying that is what is happening, but the auction now seems dodgy, and by assosiation, Angel of Dream now has a problem.

Hope it gets cleared up, I really like the 1/4 scale Ming(?) (google translates this name to 'Dust' on the AoD website) but I don't have a lot of confidence purchasing from the ebay store until some questions are settled.

2. I wouldn't confuse skeptical with negative, they aren't the same thing.;)

Without you providing more background about yourself, I would have no way of knowing you have any Ebay history, Still, we've seen perfectly reliable Ebayers and DoA sellers suddenly cut and run with money and dolls. Most of the other people on this thread I recognize as solid board members. I've had discussions with them before, have done transactions with them or know them personally.

I know you are interested in becoming a doll dealer, but if you find yourself flustered by questions about AoD when you aren't even a representative yet, how will you handle customer service issues with difficult clients? You can't affored to take things so personally. You might want to think about waiting until you own a few BJDs and have spent some more time building relationships in the community before you start as a rep. It's tough job with a lot of pressures after all. :sweat

3. i've edited fot the nth time here. I give up on writing ANYTHING on this thread as every person i direct seems to think i'm personally attacking them.

So guess what? i'm not going to comment again on this. geeez

4. Okay, I took two pictures of my Rao. She's the first female doll on aoddoll.com. I changed her faceup and all, but she should be still quite recognizable. I hope. @__@

One is her with my DOD Lahoo and the second is just her with a piece of paper with my name on it to ensure that I'm not just grabbing the pictures off from somewhere else. I couldn't find a cat plushie or anything though. >_<

If you'd like to see more images, (close ups of the body, etc.) just let me know and I'll take them when I get home. >_<

5. I feel sad for a new company fail to manage to build up a decent reputation. I think they are too rush to get into international market, and didn't build up a system which is clear and simple enough....they probably need to take a step backward.and start over when everything is ready...

6. Thanks! You have your act together and are the most reliable source of info I've seen on this thread. Please keep us updated with anything you hear. :)

7. The bodies they have are the ones you see on the website. ^^ I'll take a couple of pictures of the female body for you when I get home later today. :)

8. Yukihotaru, I just joined DOA and I searched for threads on DOD dolls, because like very one else I saw their auction on Ebay and I was interested in their dolls.

9. thank you!!!! that is great news. I love that body and I'm totally puzzled by the body shown in the auction and also the photos sent in email ot the 1/3 male body.

I'm still hoping this whole mess is really just communications problems and going global without really being ready. Please keep us posted.

10. I would love to see pics of her. I really liked the Nana head sculpt :)

11. Oh, wow, izumiyavi. She's gorgeous. *_* In light of the recent information that's surfaced, I don't think I'll be buying until the international website has launched and someone else has purchased from it, but that is the girl I've been drooling over and she looks amazing!

How well do they pose? Do you mind send me some more pictures of her, if you have any? ^_^

12. Whew...

... well I still want my Ming, at some point. The one with the half-open eyes. But I think I'm going to wait until the dust settles a little ;)

One of the things that makes Internet "life" so interesting is that it's like a huge game of "Telegraph" -- the one where you form a line (or circle), the first person gets a word or sentence to tell and whispers it to the next person, and so forth. By the time it gets either around the circle or to the end of the line it's likely to be unrecognizable. ;)

... and on the Net it's a blindingly fast and huge game of Telegraph!

No wonder we're all a bit... muddled.

I'm still optimistic that we'll see this all sorted out before too long.

13. Wow... okay. Well I've been following this thread and decided to put my 2 cents in. I really hope that all of this is resolved and they're a legit company as I do like the doll molds. But like most of you here (that I can see) I wont buy one until they open their international site or someone else buys one. I really hope things work out for this company and they get their act together. :)

14. This may just instigate things..
But you know who the moody-eyed boy reminds me of?

That boy doll there was only 10 or so sold of on ebay, he had a very muscular body and I believe slitted eyes, and a mask? he came with many sets of hands, one of which was giving the finger.. I cant remember his name. It was something short and chinese though.

=/
I think he was 60cm too.
But he had a much deeper color resin..

15.
16. The AoD sculpt doesn't look like Dollti D. D's face has more strong planes and an entirely different nose. Really not at all the same.

17. XP
I dunno. I havent seen D in a while, since the first auction XD
But I'm just saying, once I saw the pic of Ming's unpainted face I instantly thought of that.

18. I guess he doesnt, seeing it again.
It mustve just been the eyes

19. Ok First off I know I am new and MY two cents isn't worth much but opinions are like....well you know the rest and yes I too have one:)

We should all calm down about this. From what I can tell about seven people are e-mail this one poor guy at the Chinese company who happens to be the only one who speaks English...and gods knows at what level he speaks. I can go around saying I speak Spanish but all I know how it say is "my name is Milk." my roomy can speak German but you have to go slow and it takes her a moment to get it.

So lets assume he speaks English on a fair level...my roomies level of German lets say. We are all sending him quiet a few e-mail with words I am sure he doesn't understand and doing the best he can with an American launch an dealing with who knows what else. I think a lot of the miss communication is just a language thing...and the ebay screw-ups could be a number of things. I really do think they are using a template and the pics on the side are just imbedded code. I do coding quiet often and it doesn't take much to over look a line or take a line out and have it look funny.

Speaking as a graphic artist...and someone who has had work stolen...the 30% rule does apply. It’s a crap rule but that’s how things go...as long as you change things at least 30% there isn't much someone can do.

I can also understand being UBER care about things. I have never been scammed about a doll but I have on other big-ticket items...Car...computer...you get the picture. Always being an informed buyer is a good thing and something my father taught me...buyer beware is a motto for a reason. But this doesn't mean we should get all paranoid about it. I know there has been a lot of cut and runs going on in the forum lately...I don't post a lot but I do read almost all the threads to stay informed. It's wrong and stupid but it happens but that doesn’t mean EVERYone on ebay is evil or EVERYone who is new is trying to steer you wrong.

I just think we should all be a little nicer in our wording and questioning. Speaking as a newbie, both to the forum and to BJD collecting, it’s a little off putting. These are my two cents on the matter anyways…I hope all turns out for the best and the company has a good launch after the rocky start.
