1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Iffy auction?

May 5, 2007

    1. Mamehisa, has the ebay seller told you it was 1/4? Maybe it's the website that is wrong. Both the auctions and the website seem fairly new and I'm not sure yet how they are conected.
I have emailed the seller the question about the size of the boy in the auction and I will post the reply here when I get one.

And if anyone has a translation of the allegations on the chinsese boards, or any other info we aren't finiding, please post them here for all to see.

      thanks, M

    2. I posted earlier in this thread the email content i received from HotDollzone and yes, he is definitely 46cm high and they apologised for the error in the eBay listing but as yet have done nothing to change the description although they have amended their other auction with correct pics etc.
Is it a genuine mistake or intentional to mislead bidders? Who knows - i'm slightly fed-up with HotDollzone already. My attention span is slight at the best of times.

    3. I've edit all my posts because they are unnecessary for this debate. i wanted to remove but can't find the button

    4. She's pretty but the face-up is aweful. It's so..pink? It could be just the photos though ;D And a full body photo!

    5. PancakeGenocide - it's sad to read that a few people have had troubles with DZ resin. I count myself super fortunate that my boy came perfect and his resin was just..amazing to me ;3 Super smooth and soft. Weird to describe resin as 'soft' but it did XD! <333

I still think Ming is one gorgeous as hell boy!

    6. I emailed sincerity2058 and asked if they would send nude pics of the Nana doll. Here was their repy:

      Item: AOD.BJD MINI SUPER DOLLFIE NANA. L@@K..FREE FACE-UP.. (130110005782)
This message was sent while the listing was active.
      top_sincerity2058 is the seller.

sorry,we don't upload more pictures currently. We will give me pictures in future.

    7. Does any one else have troubles opening the links on the side bar to the left? They don't appear to go any where. Which is a bit suspicious.
Nobody has bid on anything yet! What do you think about emailling them and telling them that we are afraid to trust them?

    8. You and me both CalfLove - wish they would sort out his auction, then we could fight over him. Handbags at Dawn mebbe? ^_^

You could certainly try elljaye, let us know how you get on. Those links have'nt worked from the beginning, i don't think they have got that sorted out yet.

    9. My DZ resin has been wonderful too (I own one full dz doll and 3 more dz heads) I think ming is very cute and if they fix the price I would consider bidding on him :) mostly because I am curious if they are any good or not

    10. CalfLove, a couple of people have reported that when their dolls arrived, the resin was chalky and actually lumpy. It's been a while, though, so I imagine that it was a problem with a specific batch of resin, or when they were first starting out. There was a lot of yelling over it.

[This part removed due to seeming resolve of conflict.]

    11. Oh Pancake I hope you don't think I'm yelling ;_; <33

      It seems to have been a problem with a specific batch! A shame really since DZ's resin is pretty damn nice in my opinion ;3 Shouldn't be any yelling tho since afterall, as long as something was done and dolls after that batch have come out wonderful, no one should be upset over it ^^;

Mamehisa - I best put some rocks in my handbag XD I'm a lousy fighter ;D!

    12. No, no, I don't think you're yelling. ^^; I was just explaining the issue. I've actually been wanting a DZ Megi for a while, I'm just holding off on the purchase to make sure the whole chalky/lumpy resin issue doesn't happen again.

Edit: I don't think anyone has ever called me just Pancake before. It has a nice ring to it. I like. :>

    13. Thats ok then :D I got my boy recently with Emory [DZ Mo] and I've heard no complaints from people owning dolls that came from him ^_^ And I can't recommend Emory highly enough. He's absolutely fabulous! When you do get your Megi, definitely go with JunkySpot! He also has tan Megi! :aheartbea

    14. Just for the record the chalky resin problem doesn't happen anymore, this was a problem that existed when DZ first started production and used polystone resin filler to produce their bootlegs. They stopped using this type of resin when they ceased the production of "Lynn". Like yukihotaru pointed out earlier I did take my Megi to a friend of mine who produces resin model figurines for a company that specialises in comic and film collectables. He was very impressed with the quality and assured me that there were no fillers in there.

Edit: I really like some of these molds. I do find it a little suspicious that they used pictures of a Fenyo in the auction and that, from what I've heard so far, they have been banned from some forums. Until I hear more information about them I won't judge :)

    15. I'm going to need to track down that other DoA member who ended up with a DZ doll with the resin problem and ask her when she purchased it. I trust that they're done with their bootlegging, so I want to trust that they're done with their use of fillers as well, and since I've heard nothing but good things about their resin as of late, I can only assume that the issue is resolved. I guess that means it's safe to bring my Megi home. ^^

However, these dolls are so rediculously cheap, I'm not seeing any way that they aren't using fillers of some kind. I guess we'll find out. =/

    16. thanks. I thought I saw that somewhere, but when I read back though the whole thread I couldn't find it.
so, yeah, why is he priced higher if the only difference is male/female? most companies price them the same, the excpetion being DZ, but then they are 60/70 so it's justified.

I haven't heard back from them, so maybe if they got a couple of people questioning the size they wil fix it.

      thanks,
      M

    17. ummmmmm..... if this is a thread about the legitimacy of AOD and this ebay seller, why are folks arguing about the quality of DZ resin?
I can understand pointing out the photo errors in the girl's auction and id'ing them as a DZ girl, but the discussion of DZ quality seems a bit off-topic and like a thread hijack to me.

However, if someone does have real info on the mystery (so far) allegtions being made on the Chinese boards or by DZ, plese do post that.

      M

    18. It got off-topic because I made a comment regarding this company possibly using fillers in their resin to allow such low prices, and linked it to DZ's previous use of fillers in their resin. It turned into a huge rawrfest, outbirk insued, outbirk ceased, and so I nudged it back on-topic. x_o Sorry about that.

    19. You and me both... I'm very in love with his head.

But the outfit copying has me nervous. Actually, my first nervousness came from the name of the seller "Hotdollzone". Sure it might be an attempt to say that these are going to be really popular dolls, but "hot" also carries the connotation of "stolen" in most places. I would hope nobody would pick a name with that thought in mind, but it did immediately leap into my rather warped consciousness.

*sigh* I really really really LIKE Ming's head! :doh :doh :doh

    20. I really hope it is all legit. The dolls are pretty and I don't see resemblence to other dolls, personally. I hope the name hotdollzone is a coincidence. It's easier for a name similarity and sculpt similarity to be a coincidence. Still, I'm wondering how a Chinese doll seller wouldn't know of Dollzone, which makes me a wee bit suspicious about the name.

As for the prices- stuff is cheaper in China. I agree there is a possibility of fillers but they could just have slightly lower grade resin and lower overheads due to their location. Dolls half the price of nearly every other doll does look suspicious.

I just don't know what to think, so I won't make any judgement until there is something to base it on.
