1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Iffy auction?

May 5, 2007

    1. If anyone sends them an email, ask them when they are going to be available internationally, please!

    2. Email sent - now we wait!

      =====================

I and several members of a BJD forum "Den of Angels" (http://denofangels.com/forums/) are quite interested in your dolls, Ming especially. There is an auction on eBay for one, but he is listed as 60 cm, not 46 cm as on your website. Many of us are afraid that this auction is not authentic, and not from you or your company. When I asked the originator of the listing I was told it is a new version of the doll and that the website has not been updated yet. Is this true?

One of our members was able to translate some of your forum site for us and let us know that you were a new company trying to get started. We would like to know if / when you will sell your dolls internationally. If we were to get together for a group order of dolls, would that be acceptable to you? If so, is there a limit of dolls needed or that you would be able to supply?

Thank you for any information you can give us. Your dolls are very beautiful and a nice addition to the world of ABJDs.

    3. well done Lady Feather!

      very diplomatic wording!
i think a lot of people will be interested in the reply.

i really hope that they are able to reply quickly and that they realise that there is a market outside of asia.

    4. Good luck with getting a reply Lady Feather - let's keep our fingers crossed we have a new company to deal with!

When i emailed the seller via eBay they wrote back saying categorically (or so it seemed) that Ming was 46cm not 60cm and that it was an error on their part so how come they have changed it to 'He is 60cm' within a few hours?

That's the only thing that bothers me about his auction and i hope that whoever has placed a bid on him (one of you?) does'nt get ripped off. I might have bid on him myself if i was satisfied with their replies to questions but at the moment i will just step back from the auction. I wish the current bidder good luck with Ming and i want a full report on him when he arrives please..........he is lovely.

When i emailed them saying i was in the UK and would they ship to me they did'nt say no, just said it would be 2 weeks not 3-5 days. So obviously they do ship internationally.

    5. Well,
usually when an auction isn't legitimate, people can't provide extra pictures. So I decided to ask for pictures of Ming naked (no, I'm not a pervert ;) ).

They did indeed send me these pictures:
      http://pinkhazard.fashiondoll.nl/images/IMG_1670.jpg
      http://pinkhazard.fashiondoll.nl/images/IMG_1671.jpg
      http://pinkhazard.fashiondoll.nl/images/IMG_1672.jpg
      http://pinkhazard.fashiondoll.nl/images/IMG_1673.jpg

It seems tbe be the actual Ming doll that is pictured in the auction. I'm still not confident about bidding, but I got a little more peace of mind. I'm curious if the auction is by the same company that makes the dolls, or by someone else (since they call themselves Hotdollzone istead of Angel of Dream).
If we could purchase directly thru AOD, I would feel safer.

Good luck to evryone with finding out if this is a legit company!

    6. I do hope that whoever does bid, posts pics!!

    7. Mamehisa, this is very trouble some. The Q&A now posted in their listing iss the one I sent them, and their answer to me that I posted here previously.

The discrepencey bothers me a lot. And, if they do have a 1/3 Ming boy, why are they using photos of the 1/4 boy and not showing the actual doll? I replied back to the seller asking is the doll in the photos was the exact one offered for auction - I will report back if I get a reply.

ThinkPink, could those photos just have been copied from their forum and sent to you? I notice they do not have a faceup, and the doll on auction is supposed to have a faceup.

Is anyone here the bidder? If so, did you get any different info than this?

LadyFeather, thank you for contacting AOD directly. Hopefully we will have a way to buy direct from AOD.

      M

    8. OK, everybody, we got a reply:

      Have a good day!
First at all, Permit me to represent our aod to thank you for your attention and your support.
Being able to develop, design and produce many kinds of dolls in China, AOD is planning to take our advantage to enlarge our international market.
Yes, the doll (60cm) that you saw is the latest one from our company. It's 1/3 doll. There are four dolls of this 1/3 doll. (two boys and two girls). They are being maked up and taken photos. 1/3 dolls will be updated to Chinese market in mid May and will be showed up in our website at the same time. As for the international market, AOD is also preparing to do something for it.
Group order is certainly welcome. The MOQ for group order is 10. At present, our company can manufacture 1000 dolls per month. We are capable to make.
The detailed information about our aod dolls can be gotten from our website of English version that will be perfected recently as soon as possible.
Our plan is that perfecting our dolls firstly and trying our best to make our dolls according to international standards.
Thank your for your attention and support again.
      Any questions are welcome!

      Best wishes,
      Mr.Sun

    9. Doh! I didn't even think about that :doh . Sigh, getting Ming from that seller really seems impossible right now. I'm looking forward to the english AOD site, maybe that will clear some things up.

      Thanks everyone, for continuing trying!

    10. Oh its great to hear that there will be an english site in the future~!

    11. That's good news! Thanks Lady Feather. I will wait for the english site and then buy a Ming.
      :)

    12. Hm... thank you Lady Feather. That sounds like their release is in the works soon, but.. they didnt' say anytihng about Ebay eh? I think I'll keep my eye on their upcoming English page and steer clear of the auction for now. Good luck to those who bid though, and post photos? ^_^;;

    13. Yes, I think we have a 3rd party seller here, especially with the variety of items they have in their store. And the reply I got from the eBay seller did not have a name, while Mr. Sun signed his email.

    14. LadyFeather, thank you for posting this! I am really excited abut being able to get these dolls. If anyone decides to run a group order, I'm in.

ThinkPink, one option would be to ask the seller to take a pic of the actual doll with completed faceup, and something in the photo to prove it's legit and not just copied from another site (maybe a piece of paper with today's date written on it)

I have sent some more questions to the ebay seller and will let everyone know if I get a reply.

      M

    15. Well these are interesting. I am going to wait and see more owner pictures after the auction is over.

    16. I posted to AOD's board, asking if they had any relations with Hotdollzone and the auctions. We'll see what they say, I guess.

    17. krambear, do they have an english language board? (if so, can you post a link to it)
      thanks, M

    18. No, I posted in Chinese. ^^

    19. krambear, thanks. ANd please do let us know if yu get any more info.

Sometimes I wish I could learn japanese, chinese, and korean just to be able to buy dolls! :)

    20. uh-oh. just noticed this - the photos of the girl body are different.

      in the auction:

      and on AOD's site:

the thighs are completely different. AOD has a flange and a very curvy upper thigh. Auction photo shows single piece straighter thigh. Also bust joint is considerably different and definition in middle torso is different.
So not the same, but neither body is exactly like any I have seen before.

I've sent yet another question to the seller.......
