Illusion Spirit Discussion thread

Illusion Spirits holiday event started today too! Which makes it even more tempting but gosh. Thanks for the info AjiAji~ I'm still unsure since a friend recommended I go with pink so his color scheme isn't too yellow but I also don't want him looking too red either! Ah I'll probably figure something out though =w=

 

Does anyone else wish that Illusion Spirit would release better looking SD girls? Like, their eyes are normally very pretty, and their lips tend to be okay.. But THEIR NOSES. @_@ Like, too tiny, too pinched. Which is a shame, because their bodies are pretty nice. (the lips could be a little less kissy, but I can get over that.)

 

Their noses do seem very sharp that's for sure. Noses are a big thing for me too, which is why I wanted Valentine for his wider nose and I don't like the sculpts with noses that look really odd at a profile >.< I'm kind of hoping they release a couple new dolls and hopefully one of them will be an SD girl with a slightly cuter nose!


oh I have a quick question! What wig size fits your boys best? I've noticed some of them have slightly bigger heads so I was curious what wig I should get

Anyone tried ordering directly from company ? Also their white skin, how is it ? pure white or yellow white ? =)

 

I recently ordered Toki and wasn't sure of what wig size he should wear. I converted his head circumference to inches and it's about at 9.0, can anyone confirm this? Thank you all ^_^

 

I asked a question similar earlier, like a few pages back, and it seems the verdict is usually a 9-10 wig but some 8-9 wigs fit. I actually don't have my boy yet so I have no idea if he'll fit in the 9-10 fur wig I got him o.o I really hope so though. I'm kind of wondering around what size of clothes they fit best in... I don't have any other SD dolls to compare with at all

I really need some help deciding which IS resin color to go with.
I think I might like yellow (at least, all the pics that made me fall in love with the two sculpts seem to be yellow).. but then I worry the yellow might be too yellow.. so I guess I'd just like some thoughts/opinions? What color did you go with? How did it age?

The two sculpts I am interested in are Valentine (SD) and Zhuqing (MSD). I love them both

Any insight would be much appreciated ^_^

 

I have examples of all of IS colors and the yellow is my favorite (okay, they grey is pretty awesome). As it happens, I have a Valentine in normal yellow. It's pale for a nomal skin, but the yellow tones add warmth. "Old ivory" might be a more accurate name for the shade than "yellow". He's only a year old, though, so I can't say anything about aging.

 

Hello!! Thanks so much for your insight! That makes me feel better. I think having the name "yellow" is tricking me into thinking it'll be really really yellow. Knowing you have all 3 resin colors to look at physically and you like yellow best really helps make me feel more confident. Also, I keep trying to look at the resin colors when they're all compared together and that is making the yellow seem more yellow.. when, if I'd just look at it singularly, it'd seem normal.

So I think I will definitely like yellow skin for Valentine. It's Zhuqing I am having some trouble deciding on now.. I have a girl that I'm planning to get for him eventually and I think I might order her with pink skin. (She is a DollLove doll, Nichi ^_^). I'm not sure if the two will look tacky together if he is yellow skin and she is pink. I'm planning on photographing them together, of course. =)

I haven't really thought about skin color too much with my other dolls. I've bought my other bjds second-hand, so choosing a resin color hasn't been an issue in the past. This process of ordering a new doll is a little intimidating!!

 

I'll see if I can round them up for a resin sample picture. Granted, the only normal pink I have is a pair of jointed hands on another company body. Still, it is represented. It might help to show IS yellow with other company yellow, too. I'll see what I can put together.
Valentine is a great sculpt, though. I can tell you that for certain.

I also really like his skin tone, too. I think I am just over-thinking things with choosing a resin color. As I mentioned before, all of the Valentine and most of the Zhuqing pictures that I have seen have been yellow and I adore every picture.

Any comparison pics that you could possibly post would be amazing and genuinely appreciated. Thank you so much!! =) I'd also love to see the other IS members of your family!

 

Hi everyone! I'm looking into possibly getting an Illusion Spirit doll, and was wondering if anyone had any owner photos of the Phoenix and/or Annabel sculpts? I'm trying to decide between the two, and the official pictures make it hard to see the overall face shape. Also, does anyone have experience with IS Tan? Is it commonly marbled/sanded/otherwise imperfect?

I own a Illusion Spirit Curoi. When I bought him I couldn't find any owner pictures of him, so if you're interested in him I would gladly send some pics.

 

Here's a picture of my Phoenix in tan. The tan is actually really nice. I just looked her over and I didn't notice any marbling or seam lines. If you'd like, I can take a better picture of her face. She arrived last month, so this is their current tan color.

I ordered at the end of April (but the order was placed in May) and she arrived in September so yours should, hopefully, arrive in around four months.
