Illusion Spirit Discussion thread

Im really interested in Illusion Spirit's two new vampire boys, Basilisk and Curoi.

But, Im very curous, is Illusion Spirit redesigning the boy's body? I think I read that somewhere in this thread. Does anyone know if that is so?

 

I assume that they would be since they have redone the 1/4 bodies. All of them have 'peanut' joints while the male 1/3rds do not. Also most companies have a body revamp at some point so it's bound to happen.

So no I have not heard anything official about this. It's just a general assumption.

 

My Grover just got here yesterday. Working on putting up his opening box photo's now. I love his body , his jointed hands and his face is so perfect for Grover. I'm so excited. Can't wait to make him Satyr horns and hooves.

 

Hisukioni, you are right! I just got word from Jeeryama on ebay that Illusion Spirit is indeed working on a new sculpt of the SD boy body. No word on when it will be released.

I will definitely wait to see what the new body looks like before I order Basilisk. It would be great if the new body has some of the nice details in sculpt that their new 70cm boy has.

That would be VERY nice. However do unfortunate events I have all my bodies.

I will put it out there that if they redo their bodies they most likely be taking out their hip joint. The hip joint now is a series of grooves that keep it in place. I personally haven't used the hip joint at all so I wouldn't be missing it, at least I think.

Basilisk is a pretty sculpt. I can't wait to see owner pictures of him.

I actually used my Minos hip joint today. It helped him sit with one knee to his chest a lot. I was excited.

 

Oh joyus day!! I have pictures of a boy body actually doing the one foot pose seen on the website!! Free standing and all! It kinda happened accidentaly but I'll upload it in the afternoon.

I love him so much. He is fitting right in with our crew here. Can't wait to satyr him up this weekend.

 

Thanks unoa. His face is done now and if it ever warms up here I will get pics of his face up. Thats so kool you got to meet Rick too. I got to meet him last year at a book signing in Toronto and he loved my dolls. I brought my Percy and Chiron to see him.

Hi guys, I just got an IS Annabel and I looove her. I don't have much else to say on the matter hehe but I'll be sure to post pictures when I have time. I am seriously in love with her hands, they're so...idk, graceful and not boring. She's a little kicky but nothing a bit of sueding wont probably fix. Lovely doll for not too expensive!

Glow: I haven't tried that with my Grover yet but I might tonight. He does stand very well and on one foot.

Heres my Grover with his horns. I need to get a better picture just the lighting around here has been really bad. Weather its raining or snowing. I'm hoping for a sunny day soon.

 

I'm having trouble with two things.

First does anyone here own a normal skin popo? I want to hybrid my minos with the new body but I'm not sure how bad the match is going to be.

Second. I think I'm going to have to put a calos head on a girls body. I'm just not able to find a girl I really like. I want her to be something I will really really like. I am more into the boys so I know my girl will have to really bond or she won't stick around. I like the Annabel face until I saw how open her mouth really was. I don't know....

 

I can't answer the firt question.
For the second, i really think that Calos can be a georgeous girl, Annabel resembles Calos.
Just note the head circumferences: 23 cm for Calos, 22 cm for Annabel. Comparing the to heads the diference of size is notable. Generally, girls 58/60 cm (including head) body have a neck of 9 cm of circumference.
Personally, i prefer 22.5 to 23 cm head girth for the 58/63 cm bodies (girls and boys), 21 to 22 cm looks a bit small for thoses bodies ( that my opinion). However, bodies are more or less different from compagnies...
