Illusion Spirit Discussion thread

Haha, I must say I like more Illusion Spirits then most companies. But oddly enough I own more sooms... Darn Limited. I like the price tag of IS muuuuuch better XD. I have 2 more Illusion Spirits planned. One 1/3 and one 1/4. I just wish the resin batches were more consistent. My Toki took a fall and threw out his hip (literally there is a piece that was thrown off of him XD) I wanted to replace his body but with how much he has 'yellowed' and how my yellow looks like a pink and the white looks like a yellow and another yellow just looks how I guess it should be I don't know what to think.

Also a note, I never had stringing problems with my boys. Toki I restrung a couple times and needs a good scrubbing before I can re-super glue his hip. (Darn old dolly XD Throwin' out his hip for the second time). The others I haven't really played with all that much but hasn't shown me too much issue.

Oooh a Cantarira, the other limited. I could never get a sculpt that has closed eyes forever XD.

 

It's about time I posted on this thread...I'm waiting for an IS Adrian. He'll be my 3rd doll once he gets here~ It took me a while to buy him finally because I really couldn't decide on what doll I wanted. xD I'm really glad I chose an IS, though. They're an awesome company, I love the variety of sculpts that they have :3

 

Just because I have heard about the problems with resin color, does anyone have a comparison of natural pink and natural yellow? I am looking to get an IS for my first doll so I have basis of comparison. I just know that I like the color pictured and when I asked the seller what color it was they said it was natural yellow but from all the pictures I have seen of natural yellow, it is a lot more, well, yellow. So I was wondering if natural pink would be closer since it has been said the white is extremely yellow.

Good luck with that. From what I've gathered all the colors are really off. I have a white and it's quite yellow but much more white then real skin. Hisukioni has a three I think now and they are all different colors. If you get the doll as a whole body you should be fine with it matching but if you are getting a head to match another body you may be out of luck.

Haha, yeah I STILL need to do that comparison picture. I have in total one 1/3 white, one 1/3 pink (version 1), one 1/3 pink(that is supposedly yellow), and one 1/6 yellow in arms reach (meaning my friend and I combined).

Once I remember during a time I can pull out the camera I will hopefully get that resin comparison picture.

At this current time i do not recommend splitting up resin batches but I have yet to prove it. I will be eventually buying a pink pair of jointed hands to see how that works out.

 

Please keep updated, I would really like to know too.

Also, Illusion Spirit dolls are a lot less common then I expected O.o
I have only found 2-3 people with a Crete/Kelite mold. One on flickr, one on youtube and one talking about getting one on here... I didn't expect him to be so unpopular...

 

They are a relatively new company so not many people know about them. They are great quality over all even with the color issues.

 

Does anyone have suggestions on good places to buy clothes for a 62cm IS doll male? I have found places that were close but I am afraid of buying them and finding that they don't fit >.<

Shirts aren't too much of a problem but pants and shoes have me paranoid.

 

I have bought from Dollmore and it fit fine. I have also ordered from DoD and they worked fine (DoT). For the DoT clothing I think the ver. 1 would fit better then ver. 2. But that was my first clothing purchase so I went for the bigger one. After a year his clothes calmed down with the area for the muscle he didn't have. it is a little loose around the hips but not too bad.

Pretty much I'd advice looking at measurements like a hawk (1-2 cm difference either way should still fit fine). Though I'm pretty sure if you look for SD clothing they will fit.

Dollmore is a good place to look for cheap clothing as long as you find a Group order in your area. Alice collections as well but I haven't tested their clothing for if they'd fit. I will be doing that withing the next 6 months XD. (stupid money always being so low and needing soooooo much dolly clothing)

 

hz, dollzone, and k (style?) all fit fine. Sd sized stuff works. I was worried about the size at first too but they are standard to dz.

 

From what I have gathered for all my IS knowledge, (consisting of a lot of research because I am super impatient to get my doll... hurry up tax refund T_T) It seems as if Alice's Collections should fit nicely. Seems to be some trouble with fabric getting caught in the joints of some different company dolls though (as referred on a YouTube video as doll wedgies.) I am planning on ordering from them on the third if everything goes right. I will be getting kelite/crete with a default face-up and a gift head (I decided not to get jointed hands because I wanted a practice head for face-ups). I will be posting lots of pictures when he arrives and if anyone wants to request any pictures I would be glad to take them.

Also AC said that I could chose a face sculpt for my free head so I am going to go for valentine. I do know that when I asked another seller they said that the head and hands were random and you could not chose if you got a head or hands so I will keep my fingers crossed. AC seems to know what they are doing and seems to be a good company so my hopes are resting on their shoulders. Also with my doll I will be ordering some clothes from AC so I will also be able to comment on their fit ^^

Did not expect the post to be so long >.< . I will keep updated on how things are going with my IS shipment and I might even record my unboxing. I would like to see this thread more active, the dolls and company seem great and I would love to hear more about them and discuss more. (hey, it might help with the wait : _ ; )

I just wanted to pop in here and add that I have a Valentine here with me, and I love him to pieces! He's supposed to be normal yellow, but even I noticed that he was very pale, which I wasn't unhappy with, considering the character he's supposed to be is pale. Also, most of the regular 60cm clothes I've had lying around have fit him...except for a few shirts which required me to remove his hands.

If anyone plans on going with a Valentine, don't let his nose throw you off. It's shaped a little different than most of the button noses you see in dolls, but it gives him great character. My Jullian has really grown on me!

 

Yeah it was the same way with Minos. He has a large nose but I love it. He looks more masculine then most dolls but tender enough to be cute still lol.

 

Hello all. I have been looking around for a sculpt for a possible doll in the future and was wondering if anyone had Crete? I did not see any in the gallery or elsewhere.

 

There isn't one in the Break from the Illusion thread either. I know I've seen one on DoA though. Have you tried searching just the box opening section?

 

I will have to do a manual search through since nothing comes up in the search results for me.

 

I have seen one Crete up on Flickr, but it seems like only one.

orphansparrow I am almost ordering him... but I never had any IS doll and never seen one in real so I'm not sure about quality. I haven't found owner pics of him either... wondering why, I love the mold!!
