1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Dec 23, 2020

    1. Hey guys, I've ordered the impldoll 64cm muscle girl body and I have plans for a custom head and hands for her but i need some measurements to start working on them. I have found her neck size already but I need help hunting down the wrist circumference of her current hands. Thanks!

    2. @webpixie I can get them for you tomorrow

    3. Yes, @susana789 , she is on the MGM.

@Iron_Dog that sounds like a wig I've been dealing with. I'm going to try dying it to see if I can't make it more interesting looking. And if I good up, who cares!
I am totally jealous that you have a bjd store near you!!!

I suggest giving it a soak in dawney fabric softener, rinse then shake out outside, then comb it through and let it drip dry. It really makes the hair soft and helps with static. Also, permanent curls that have gone frizzy can re-collect into ringlets nicely with the wet comb-trough.

@webpixie no also can get you the measurements tonight as soon as I get home :thumbup

    4. @IngieBee If you're going to dye a wig, keep in mind that unless you use a dye specifically for plastics (like iDye-Poly or RIT Dyemore), the colour you get will be massively lighter than what you think you'll get regardless of the intensity/concentration of the dye bath. There will also be a plateau point where regardless of how long you leave the wig in the bath, it won't get any darker. You may also get "interesting" results because of how a particular brand/type of wig fibre takes (or doesn't take) dye.

Further to all that, if you know the wig is heat resistant, have at in the normal dye fashion and you should be ok without it melting. If you're unsure, I recommend boiling water separately in a kettle and adding the freshly boiled water to the dye powder/liquid in a container and then dying the wig but submerging it in that for however long you want/need. That's usually the method I use because the majority of wigs I've dyed are of unknown origin so I didn't want to chance them melting. However, with that method you will get a very light colour (if the fibres take it) even when using colours like navy blue or black. The dye will still be permanent but light.

Annnnd if the instructions say it won't dye poly, it won't dye synthetic wigs. I found this out the hard way with Dycron. Additionally, liquid RIT will NOT dye at all in the pre-boiled water method unless you also add vinegar to the bath. It will be very light if you add the vinegar and permanent. I typically use Tintext powder as I can pick that up at the dollar store and I've found it works better than RIT for the pre-boil method.

    5. Yah, I got RIT dyemore for poly nylon, etc... so no worries @Iron_Dog :D I watched a video of a lady who took a cheaper wig and used rit to give it a little ombre (umbrae?) then she used permanent alcohol based markers to give it "roots" and It looked awesome. So now I plan on doing just that. In fact, I JUST now opened up the delivery of these markers, they're so cool, and I can't wait to see if this works out!!

Actually, it was supposed to be this wig but instead it was a crazy curly wig, and it has a skin section for the part which I don't want to get dye on, thus I'll be using the cup method :) and when getting closer to the roots, I'll use the pens :)

@webpixie I come up with a socket diameter of 16mm or 1.6cm inside diameter (that is, from inside edge of resin) I think the circumference of the wrist ball is 5.4cm and if I may add, ResinSoul jointed hands for SD boys are both feminine looking and almost exactly the same shape as Star/Idol girl hands. The ball is slightly larger, but still sits in the socket smoothly. I highly recommend.

    7. I've been wanting a Tony for one of my old RPG characters for forever and finally put him on layaway. Took advantage of the sale and added a Sicily. Won't see them for a year, but I thought I'd join the thread and enjoy your dolls vicariously.

    10. It took a lot of fiddling, but Captain Bubblehead here can stand in perfect contraposto, like the Davide of Michelangelo (which he'll happily compare himself to). One more day till I can replace that hipster wig with his proper hair!

@Isabeau I can't wait to see another Tony too. I hope you don't have a long wait.

    13. @Mahgiep Thanks for the tip! I'll see if I can get it from a local supplier.
@IngieBee Oh you approve???!!! Massimo also approves of himself though he'll accept all tributes in his camp.
@Isabeau I had a long layaway for him like you, but he was done and shipped before COVID really hit. Though putting him together was a nightmare of upper body strength. (Massi will take all compliments via registered mail or singing telegram)

    14. Sounds like you're going to have to add on a castle to your house/home to appease him?? @A Wee Tiefling ? LOL

    15. Or a chorus that is employed just to sing his praises. :XD:

    16. @IngieBee @Rakonto Nah, a tasteful but sumptuously appointed villa on the Aegean will do, along with accompanying Greek chorus (he won't get it.)
In related news, EID shirts are apparently juuuuuust this shy of tight across the Impl chest, which I only know because Massi's new shirt refuses to stay closed and lie in a tasteful way. But also, EID pants are a bit too wide in the waist, so methinks the body is a bit carrot-shaped? (I already want to replace his hands. They're dangerous when rasslin clothes onto him)

    17. Is Massi on the old star body? I gave my boys jointed hands, I just love jointed hands now :) Oh oh, I just realized, I haven't tried dressing them with those hands yet, it might be really hard!??
