1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. IMPL dolls Star, Model and Idol Discussion thread 15

Dec 23, 2020

    1. Oh don't get me wrong, I think he's awesome cute. He's on my list now. I just thought he had an adorable touch of dorkiness :D I just see that kind of personality in him :D

@bluebellaen I've had success with shoes that fit Iplehouse. However I've never put stockings on any of my dolls (yet). I also don't have many heeled shoes, only 2 pair big enough for these. Oh Supiadoll's feet are even bigger! That is their 65cm bodies. I do feel more adventurous buying shoes still as I'm short on shoes but have dolls in all sizes so they always fit somebody :)

    2. @bluebellaen What is the length and width of the heeled feet? Are the shoes to small length wise, width wise or is the arch of the foot the wrong shape?

IngieBee mentioned Iplehouse, you could also look into heels for SD boys. Like the ones by rRabit.

    3. Hi everybody! I don’t post here much but I do lurk and love seeing everybody’s arrivals and characters.

In… 2019? I picked up another Nicolas head (I think it was a Black Friday thing; the price was too good to pass up.) Since then he’s sat in a drawer, but I had some other heads needing dremel mods so I pulled him out and sliced a piece off his skull. Felt inspired to keep going and now I’m too excited not to share even though he isn’t finished.

Boy those textured lips are hard to blush nicely!

    4. @IngieBee @Cloudedmind Thank you so much! I will check out shoes for Iplehouse and from rRabit.
Her heeled feet are 7.7cm long and 3.0cm wide, and while I was able to find some heels with length of 8.0cm or even heeled boots with length of 8.3cm, they still don’t fit her as the actual inner usable length is much less than 7.7cm, and the hardest part is that her feet are much wider than any of those shoes… Anyway, I will look into the shoes that you suggested and fingers crossed Sicily will finally get some heels that fits her nicely.
      Again, thank you :)

    5. @Havra "I pulled him out and sliced a piece off his skull." Say WHAT? where did you remove material, I don't think I see it?

Hope it works for you @bluebellaen :D

    6. @IngieBee yea much right off the top, and then shaved his headcap down a good 3mm (and re-drilled magnet and indents for the headcap nubs.) I had done the same mod to my other Nic head, so it went a lot faster this time.

    7. @Havra You know, that's a good idea. He does have a bulbus head doesn't he? Especially with the wig i put on mine, LOL :D BTW, I do remember you showing this before :)

    8. @IngieBee It’s a common look in this hobby. It was a great first major mod since it would be covered by a wig if I messed up. Good confidence booster. I’ve gotten a lot braver with my dolls since then, hehe.

    9. I've been working on cheap plastic dolls to see if I can trust myself with a resin mod. Not good enough yet but I do have plans :XD: what did you use to slice it off? If you don't mind sharing? :eusa_pray:thumbup

LOL, I I just noticed the Dremel in the picture :doh

    10. Good eye haha. I used that circular cutting blade for the initial slice, then a small flat topped drilly thingy for making new holes, and a cylindrical sander for the overall headcap reduction. I did nick his ears accidentally but you can’t really tell, lol, or I’m telling myself you can’t tell.

I mean if you start with something that won’t be seen and go slow as you get a feel for the way the material gives way it’s not bad. (Better yet, pick up a cheap practice head.) Most anything can be repaired with epoxy if you really screw up and are willing to paint over the top… and uh, take a big hit on resale value of course… :XD: I’ve been going to town on a modifying a practice head on the side to see if I can turn it into an actual character, and that has been very fun with much less stress given it cost me about $25. Impldoll heads are already quite affordable compared to some others out there, but it’s still what, $80? Nothing to sniff at.

I’ll be sure and bring more spam when this guy is finished! (Can only work on him when little ones are asleep…)

    11. I remember those days (babies and tots) it's a wonderful time, and it just keeps getting better :)

Yah, I actually have a head that I got for $5 from Alice's, maybe I'll try something with it :)

    12. @IngieBee It is wonderful! But I do cherish my alone time when I can get it!

I finished his faceup, except I may add some gloss. I think he’s wearing two different sized eyes… which means someone else around here is too… :XD:

    13. First thing I thought was that those eyes were amazing. Did you make them? @Havra ?

    14. @IngieBee yes, they are just polymer clay, paint and UV resin, with some tiny threads pulled off a red hand towel and stuck on for ‘veins’. The pupils are balls of air dry clay I roll out a bunch at a time and paint black. Not perfect but they do the job.

    15. @Havra Oh he's gorgeous, you did a beautiful job painting him! May I ask what the concept is for his faceup/overall look? He's giving me a very stylish undead vibe, it suits the sculpt so nicely :love Also, your handmade eyes are to die for, thank you for sharing some details about how you executed them! That is very generous of you <3

    16. Thanks, @Gamine. His name is Gunther Perle, and he is a sleazy businessman with a secret past; a rather smooth but unpleasant person in general. My other Nicolas is the supernatural/undead one, and they share a body, so that is part of the reason he’s pale. But mostly I just love white skin, lol. I think it suits his cold, slimy personality.

Oh no problem about the eyes. Happy to answer questions even though I’m really just fumbling through things myself.

    17. I've been wanting to try that with some wool yarn pieces :)

      LOL, great characters!

    18. @Havra I'm almost getting Lucifer vibes off him, like the show (not the comics). He looks amazing, I love noticing all the little details you've put in (like the veiny eyes).

    19. I am only familiar with that show from the thumbnail, but I think I see it too, @A Wee Tiefling. Thanks! His eyes are supposed to be kind of a champagne colour but these ones were rolling around so…

    20. I need an opinion/guidance, guys. I'm still waiting on my custom green Ziv to be re-made (hopefully I'll see him by the end of this year *fingers crossed*). Impl has said they'll send me a gift with him for being so patient in waiting (I've been waiting since January 2020 when they were notified of the error in colour). They offered the gift (whatever it is) and they very generously told me to keep the incorrect green doll I was initially sent (that would be Kulfi and I adore him). I don't want to be THAT customer/a choosy beggar so would it be rude/out of line to email them to let them know that I don't collect girls and have zero interest in girls to avoid getting something that is for a girl?

I have absolutely no idea what the gift is. They haven't said. I don't feel they owe me anything other than the doll I ordered, which they are in the process of re-making. The gift could be eyes or a wig or a carrying bag and that wouldn't matter as far as boy/girl goes. But it could also be clothes or shoes and that could matter. Or it could be resin of some variety. A head can generally be either boy/girl depending on face-up so that's a bit less of a concern. I truly don't know and some guidance would be appreciated.
