The meet was in a park, which was lovely but she def wasn't very popular since she's neither cute nor animesque in her styling. Also she's big and resin as opposed to small and vinyl. But I love her.

I was just lurking about because I've been so preoccupied with work lately (and had to have my ears professionally cleaned after putting it off for a year -- vertigo side-effect followed), but the new guy is quite up my alley! However, I have no more pending big boy characters and I've already dropped a lot of dough into totally reshelling Guórén, so I'd just have to admire him from afar.

@SteamWitch I dig the flame-themed kilt, haha!

@A Wee Tiefling I get that reaction during local meets with most of my dolls too, since they're quite "serious," for lack of better term. But at least your doll got a nice outing! I always try to bring at least two of my own whenever there's a meet, just so they have a sureball companion (quite a challenge, but I don't mind the armwork). Well, except for Adhara. That girl pretty much sasses/charms her way through everything and everyone, she no need no escort.

 

Oh the pair of new boys are big and they're sassy and I'm in trouble! The new faceup artist is genius with the subtle shimmer about the eye waterline. It's so appealing to my aesthetic.

@AntarelNefertili Adhara just wins, she's my queen and I'm not a scorpion clan at all.

 

I always bring multiple dolls to meets (back when we had them in person). I would also ask if there was any particular sculpt someone wanted to see as I have a lot of little seen/known dolls.

The new guys are very nice looking but my wallet is safe (for now). I'm still waiting on Malachite *sigh*. Not Impl's fault. Shipping is kinda brutal still. It took him 18 days to go from the international processing center in Beijing to the carrier transport (but not yet on a flight). He was shipped October 2 and has yet to leave China.

 

I’ve been wanting to buy an Impldoll Glenn for a long time but I have been hesitating because I really want him on the Idol body. Has any one tried this out? Putting a Star male head on an male Idol body? I checked the measurements for Glenn’s head and neck and they were the same as the new Idol doll Paddy, so I’m hoping that the switch could work.

 

@Kiki Happy TBH those old Idol heads are bulbous so Glenn might actually be in scale for the Idol body. Also, he is a fantastic sculpt and we need more of the unique sculpts out there.

 

That’s great to hear! I was hoping that was the case. I also sent an email to Impldoll too, so hopefully I hear back from them soon. I’m really hoping that they have an anniversary or holiday event this year.

And I love the unique sculpts as well. I’ve imagined so many different face ups and outfits for him already, so I really hope it works out

 

I am kind of partial to Irvin, but I just got bodies for two floating heads and have a body I am buying a head for on layaway, and that doesn't even count my Tony and Sicily, who are paid off now, but haven't arrived. I may have actually hit maximum capacity for dolls, particularly since these are all 60+ cm! Did some shifting around and have an Asleep Eidolon Glenn head floating, thinking I might put it on the girl muscle body (has always been a girl to me). AE normal skin is very, very pale, so I'd be looking at whiteskin most likely.

 

Loving the new Irvin, though I'm not so keen on those bodies XD Anyone know if impldoll sell their heads seperately?

I haven't been very active here lately (although I have been lurking), but I must admit—I've been lukewarm on some of the newer girls. I like how unique Candice is and Dabria's pretty, but the rest have softer features than I prefer. As for the newer boys? Would it be wrong if I said I'd love to put them on their Star/Idol girl body?

At some point I'd like to order Plaice through Divas, but I've got other things I need to focus on first. Since I've only experienced Impl's girls in my collection, I look forward to adding one of their boys

 

I'm a big fan of recasting boy sculpts as girls. The super soft features that a lot of doll companies tend to use for girls read to me as just "very, very young" as opposed to "feminine" which makes those heads on super curvy female bodies a bit unsettling to me. But that's just a me thing, I guess
