If I like the Sicily head in person for this particular character I'll have to do a lot of modding (undoubtedly additive, and also probably subtractive) to get something anywhere near his body type. (LINK to M rated comic for funsies)

I bought my first doll recently, an impldoll Idol, Joshua. I'm still waiting for him to be created and sent on his way (hopefully some time in March XD). While I'm waiting, I'm trying to get him some clothes and accessories and have come across a problem.

He's huge.

I can't find any companies that make things that'll fit the measurements I've been given. How can I spoil my handsome boy????

I did find one shop on Etsy willing to do custom sized clothes, which is a possibility. But I was hoping you lovely experienced people might have some suggestions for ready made clothes and accessories so I... Don't have to wait nearly as long as I do for my doll to get his things XD

 

Fun! Sims is a great way to tell stories... especially with all the mods out there. I haven't played for some time, as my computer really struggles... overall I prefer Sims 2 because it makes me laugh and the gameplay is less forgiving and snappier, and... okay, don't get me started on my problems with Sims 4.

Looks like a lot of additive modding to achieve that body type, as you said. In which case... all-over spraypaint might be inevitable.

 

I do believe they forgot about my order, and I know I should have contacted them earlier to remind them about it. It’s just that with everything going on in the world in 2020, and with the lockdown and the labour shortage, I thought they would need more time with all the orders.

I finally sent them an email at the end of Oct 2020 (after about 11 months waiting) but did not get any reply. Again, I thought maybe they were still too busy, and because I did not want to sound pushy, I decided to give them more time and continue to wait.

Sent them another email in May 2021, and still no reply. At that time, I was not sure if there was anything wrong with their email so I reached out to them on Facebook Messenger in June 2021 and finally got a response. They told me all the 2019 orders were completed and sent out long time ago, and they had no idea what went wrong with my order as they couldn’t seem to find the tracking info or any other shipping information.

They, however, did promise to make me the heads right away. But again, I kept waiting from June to November and still nothing. I reached out to them again in November asking about my order’s status and wondering if I should place a new order for their 2021 event. They said because my 2 heads from the 2019 order were with faceup so it would take some extra time (but it was already 5 months since I contacted them in June, does it really take more than 5 months for 2 heads with faceup?). They said if I ordered any more heads for the 2021 event, they would make and send all the heads together.

I don’t think Impldoll purposely forgot my order, so that’s why I didn’t want to file a PayPal claim or say anything negative about them. They seemed really nice and friendly when we chatted, so, one more time, I decided to give them one more chance, with good faith, and hope they would do it right this time. I do love their dolls a lot and still think they are a good company. So let’s see how thing goes this time…

 

Hello! I'm getting an impldoll too who i also think might come in March, so I understand how hard it is to wait!

Regarding the clothes, may I ask what kind you were looking for? A lot of clothes marked for SD or SD17 will fit 70cm (or in your case, 72cm) boys. Was there an outfit in particular you were looking to get?

There are also plenty of sellers on Etsy and the marketplace on DoA that sell clothes for that size (though you might have to wait a bit since it doesn't look like you have marketplace access yet on DoA.)

 

@bluebellaen So strange it's gone so long. You are a very patient person. I truly hope they make it right. Personally, if I were in their position I'd be at least doing one of the faceups for free... I will add, though, that with the trouble I had trouble getting an email through to make my order for the Thanksgiving event, I'd believe one or more of your followup messages simply never made it to them. Do let us know how it goes...

 

The body is indeed huge. SD/SD17 size is not going to cut it. The measurements seem somewhat comparable to Iplehouse EIDs or the Dollshe 24m body. I bought my 24m guy (also has 19cm shoulders) a suit on Etsy. Pic in this thread.

Searching for EID stuff may, in general, get you more results. Maybe SartoriaJ?

If in doubt something will fit, it doesn't hurt to send a message with your doll's measurements.

 

I think my most recent order with Impl got forgotten or lost too. I am still waiting for it after a year and four months. I ordered thru BJDivas; it was a custom resin color order. After 8 months and hearing nothing, I decided to go ahead and check in for the first time, at which point Impl told Divas that actually, they'd never recieved the color sample I sent them, so hadn't started my order at all. I was a bit disappointed and thought it would have been nice to know they didn't have a sample to work with sooner, instead of them waiting 8 months for me to figure out that my order was stagnant and asking...but ok, I guess it just got lost in the shuffle since they have so many other orders, so I sent a digital sample right away so there'd be no more delays. After about 2 more months, I wrote to ask if I could add a head to my order, assuming it still wasn't done-- and Impl told Divas that it WAS done and already packed and ready for shipment. So...ok, progress. I waited 2 more months and then saw a lot of Impl box openings from Divas orders happening, so asked again...only to be told that ACTUALLY, my order WASN'T in the same box as all the other Divas orders, it was in a DIFFERENT box with one other custom color order and that one had been shipped out much later than the other one, but they didn't tell Divas there were 2 separate packages coming until after I asked where my order was? (Yeah. It's convoluted and made my brain sad by this point too.) The last I heard, Divas has a tracking number for the package that my order is supposedly definitely in this time for real, but the tracking isn't moving and the package is still in China. I kind of don't even know if I should keep expecting to see my order at this point.

 

Some of my orders sat in Chinese airports for 3-4 months but several arrived this week, so take heart. In the last four years I have never lost an order but sooo many have been crazy making. Guangzhou has been the worst.

 

I've been a bit vexed that my Tony and Sicily from Divas haven't gotten here, but I went back and looked and though I had thought I had started paying in December 2020, it was actually February of last year, so I just made my last payment. They weren't anything complicated, Tony in real and Sicily in pink, no faceups, so hopefully I'll hear something soon.

 

Sorry, I was wrong! I just see a lot of clothes labeled for 'SD/SD17/70cm' so i tend to think of them as a similar size.

A term you probably want to look for is 'uncle'.

"Uncle
‘Uncle’ dolls are the largest dolls around there. These dolls (male most of the time) are around 70-75 cm. These dolls appear as adults."

 

I've an Impldoll Glenn on their 65ish sized male body, and my friend has an idol guy on their taller male body. We're found a lot of shirts from Iplehouse do fit them, my guy fits SID stuff and her taller one fits EID, and some looser SID sized shirts.
I also found randomly some sized for 70/72cm pants fit my 65cm boy. Try looking at some of the 70 to 75 sized stuff on Alice Collections, also you can always email AC's and ask about sizes, some not all of the clothing they sell has custom sizing options.

 

EID seems to be the closest comparable size, yes! Tho comparing the measurements with what impldoll gave me, the idol body is a smidge bigger. And since I don't have the doll, I'm not sure if these measurements are accurate (they also seem to have the same measurement set for all three generation bodies, which is... Frustrating. They gotta be a little different, right? XD). I haven't compared to the dollshe bodies tho, I can check that out thank you! I'll also look through that shop to see.

I did find a shop, as I said, that does custom clothes on Etsy. They also sell uncle size clothes as default, and I sent them a message to check if the uncle clothes would fit, and their response after seeing the measurements was "yes, he's buffer than the normal uncle and you'll need to do custom" XD

OoooOOOOooo I'll look for some idealian 75,thank you. At least for tops XD. My boy is a dirty hipster, so he'll need jeans too. If you find some them fit, please let me know hehehe.

I got the SGB because I liked the look of it best. Is your quest for jeans being hindered by the bigger booty? XD

Understandable, I have made the same mistake myself before I went down this rabbit hole of "he's too big for... Everything" hehehe.

I was told by a clothes shop that his measurements (given me by impldoll) are "buffer than the normal uncle" and I'll have to get custom. But if uncle is the biggest size, then does that mean idol male bodies are the biggest?

OoooOOOOooo, did she find that EID sized jeans fit? At least that'll help me find some shirts for him, if the EID ones fit hers, thank you!

Also, the information about uncles was from the wiki, but I recently saw there are 90cm dolls and 1/2 size dolls so I think maybe there are actually even bigger sizes out there!

 

I think the EID pants fit, I'll have to double check with her. Also a random thought Granado has some mega beef cake boys maybe look into if any one has stuff for them. (I do not think they sell outfits out of there full sets) Honestly if you want to feel better in this hunt, my biggest boy is sized like the hulk almost and lords over my EID man. Granado's Titan body is just that a titan. (Mine is in Build a Bear boxers) So I fully feel you about the clothing hunt on big male dolls.

 

@Havra I sure will let you guys know how it goes this time. I guess you were right, maybe some of my followup emails ended up in their spam folder or something so they never really received them. Luckily I was able to reach them through Facebook. I’d ordered a couple dolls from them before (through Alice’s Collections) and everything was always perfect so I hope the issue I have with my 2019 order is just one of the very few exceptions…

@thedarkeststar13 I hope you receive your doll soon. A year and four months wait is a long time. A friend of mine was in a similar situation where she had to continue pushing them to complete her order, and immediately sold the doll after receiving it because she had lost interest in the doll after such a long wait (about a year and 6 months). It seems Impldoll does not always volunteer the information when there is an issue, unless you ask them about it first (or maybe that’s how it is supposed to be?).

From now on, I guess I will make sure to check in with them frequently if I end up placing more orders with them, rather than quietly waiting months after months assuming everything is good.

 

Well, at least there are bigger ones that would be even more difficult to dress XD

Yes, they do. You need to message them (I did so through their Q&A page) to let them know you'd like to buy a head only and the color you want. They message me back with the cost of the head only which was 100 USD. I sent them my paypal and shipping info and they sent me an invoice for the head plus shipping.
