1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

IMPL dolls Star, Model and Idol Discussion thread 15

Dec 23, 2020

    1. It's kind of terrible that I own multiple Impldolls and follow/lurk this thread, but have only posted a few times to complain about my body order that I've been waiting on for nearly a year and a half  so I figured I'd add a pic and actually introduce my Impldolls.
Matilda, on the left, is an Islanddoll Noah head on an Impldoll Star body. Jorja, on the right, is an Impldoll Azalea on an old Doll Family-A body. I still have the Impl Idol body the Azalea head originally came on; it's a project body right now that eventually I want to sculpt my own head for. And if my Model body ever gets here, I'll have an Angelsdoll Yul/Impldoll Model hybrid in the group too.

    2. whoa, love what you did with the Azalea sculpt! She's gorgeous and super unique.

    3. I could hardly recognize her as an Azalea! Great job! <3

    4. @mohnblumendolls and @AntarelNefertili thanks! I did do a little light modding on my Azalea's face, just some adjusting here and there with sanding-- but 99% of her unique look is due to the faceup artist.

I bought her when the Azalea sculpt was first released, but it took me years and years to actually make her a finished doll and enjoy her. It turned out that I just really hated the way she looked on the giant 70cm Idol body, and all I needed to do was put her on a 60cm body with a slim build. Along the way, trying to figure out what was bugging me and why I couldn't click with her, I'd done everything from spray painting her a completely different color (and then removing it!) to tinkering with her face a little here and there with light subtractive modding. She's been the most difficult doll I've ever had, but I finally have her to a point I'm happy with :)

    5. @thedarkeststar13 Those older implsculpts have a lot of personality but that can make them hard to work with and visualize something of your own. I love Noah's sculpt, I hope one day to own them also but they make a fabulous genderfluid sculpt. And obvs they suit that body well.

    6. Omg, I double checked in Q&A about my order of a Marlon head on January 17th because I saw no confirmation anywhere and they wrote back that they were already working on the faceup and hoped to ship before New Years which is February 1 and I should be getting a shipping notice very soon! That would be 2 weeks waiting time :ablink:. I can’t believe how fast! :aeyepop: Also, I have never gotten a response from a doll company on a weekend.:celebrate

    7. I got a shipping notice for my blank Ransom head, which I ordered just a little over a month ago.

    8. Congratulations to everyone for getting Your shipping notifications!!!

I wonder when my blank head will be ready. In a week it will be three months.

    9. so my blank Sicily head arrived - no pictures yet because adulting is getting in the way - and the features would work for Orange, BUT it's 1) super light, so anyone hoping Impl had gone back to their previous darker Brown Skin is going to be super disappointed, and 2) tiny, really tiny for a 63cm doll. I was able to put this tight 7-8 wig (more 7 than 8) on it easily. It seems like Impl took customer comments about their big lightbulb heads to mean that they should make the heads smaller overall, not less bulbous. Sicily is still super lightbulb-headed, but the enormous neck hole ends at her jawline and her facial features are more MSD-sized than SD-sized. I don't see how she could have much mobility on the body she's ostensibly made for :sigh

    10. Thanks for the info, Girrl. I've got a full Sicily on the way, and will be curious to see how she works out on the body. I also ordered a Davina head in November, thinking if Sicily didn't work, I could use her on the body instead, but now I'm wondering if she's a pinhead too.

    11. The tiny head thing is the biggest part of why I had such a hard time with Azalea. She looked so weird to me on that massive 70cm Idol body. Even though she looks fine on a smaller, slender 60cm body, she is still just barely proportionate with my other 1/3 scale dolls, head-size wise. If her head was any smaller, she would look out of scale with everybody else in my collection.

    12. We have a Sicily on the Star body (from before they updated the measurements) in the house and her head mobility is just fine on it. She is a pretty small head, though. Has made finding wigs difficult cause even some 7-8s have too much hair for her smaller facial features lmao

    13. My re-made custom green Ziv arrived today ahead of when CANPost said they would deliver. Yea! He was mailed from Impl on October 5, 2021 and hung out at the Beijing airport from October 24, 2021 to January 19, 2022 before arriving in Canada. The tracking number was actually listed as "expired" because it had been so long.

Impl sent 2 outfits and a head as gifts for my waiting so long to get him. The gift head is gorgeous but I have no idea who he is or even what body would be suitable for it. My delight at finally receiving this Ziv was dampened by the fact that this one is basically the same incorrect green that the first Ziv I received (Kulfi) is. The new one is barely a tone darker. Even if they're seated together in bright, natural light, you'd be hard-pressed to tell that they're different colours. I'm not exaggerating either.

Kulfi is the one with the wig and I received him January 4, 2020. The doll I got today is the bald one. It's been just over 2 years and it's the same green not the much darker green we'd agreed upon. He's supposed to be the medium green colour of the stone malachite.

I've emailed Impl about this but considering it's already the weekend in China and Chinese New Year is literally in a few days, it may take a bit for them to reply. I've told them I will send this doll back to them at my expense and I will include a physical colour sample of the green I need. Maybe third time is the charm?

    14. Oh no, that's so disappointing and frustrating! You waited so long and still didn't get the right color... I hope they accept the doll back with a good color sample tucked in with him.

    15. I'm hopeful. It sucks that it's not the right green after so long but if they're willing to accept the return of this doll and make the Ziv again in a shade to match what I've wanted all along, then great. If not, then I'll need to investigate dying, which would be an added cost, results could be interesting and what I'd wanted to avoid in the first place thus the custom order.

    16. Gosh! What a rollercoaster ride this has been. I truly hope they will produce the doll the color you want with no problem and as fast as possible.

    17. I heard back from Impl! I'm surprised as it was already the weekend in China when I sent the email and stupid o'clock in the morning their time. They said the colour blender made the error and they'll remake him again in the correct green after the holiday. They also said I could keep the doll I just received :aeyepop:. I emailed them back asking if they were sure I could keep him and that I truly didn't mind sending him back. I also asked if I could send them a physical colour sample and said that the green he was to be is the colour of raw (unpolished) malachite stone and included a link to an Amazon page selling the raw stone.

Impl is going way beyond trying to get this right for me. I'm hugely impressed. I already liked the company a lot before hand. This takes it up another notch. Hopefully they'll give me an address to send the colour sample to because I do think that would help get the colour right.

    18. This saga is definitely becoming legendary. I'm now deeply curious as to what is going on with the colour blending that the green is so very off. It's not like we haven't seen rich green resin in the past.

    19. I have no idea what's up with the blending service but Impl is being amazing in trying to get this right for me. They've just confirmed that it's not necessary for me to send the newest doll back and have given me an address to send them a physical sample which I will be doing. I've also sent them pics of the mystery head so they can tell me what sculpt it is. It's def for a body of either Star or Idol size as the head is significantly bigger than the Model Ziv head(s) I have.

I can see getting a body for that head sometime in the future as I'm quite taken with it. I didn't intend to get more dolls. I mean, Qayin needs a body (I have his head) and eventually Saimeer (Soom ID51 Hyperon) will need a partner but I hadn't planned for more than that. This is happening at me not to me and I'm not mad about it.

I will need to figure out what I'm going to do with this new Ziv. I don't really fancy starting a green Ziv army, as lovely as the sculpt and colour is.

    20. @Iron_Dog I would suggest checking your local paint store and see if you can get a paint chip tthe color you want. Or print something like the Amazon photo and actually mail it to them.
