He is so cute, but can't afford him at this moment. I hope to see some photos soon. Impldoll seems pretty quick making their resin

Eee, he looks awesome! I love what you did with the faceup. I wasn't really crazy about the pale, frowny lips or the mini-brows they gave him for the sample and I was worried about how he'd look with a different face-up since they didn't have any blank photos, but I love the lips and brows you gave him. He's got the sweetest little face!

Was the scorpion body a tan resin underneath the blushing? (Edit: Whoops, I got this answered in your box-opening thread. :3 )

I love the loopyness of the stinger part...it makes me think of the art style used for Disney's Hercules

Malaryush~ I didn't want the factory faceup because it was too cute for the character I had in mind. I wanted a little warrior. The face sculpt suited my plans better than I thought it would.

skyealloway~ Ooo you're right about the art style. It does look like Hercules!

I'm happy with the posing of the body. The tail has only the one joint, but that doesn't bother me. I do plan to suede it so it holds the position that I put it in. The front part is top-heavy. Colin can bend backward pretty far, but he will tip if he bends too far forward. If he has his arms raised, claws out, chest bent forward as he charges Brendan Fraser..he'll tip over. But the scorpion body is hollow enough that a weight could be placed inside it to prevent tipping.

 

Does anyone know what his human size is? I'm debating on whether if I want to get him or not.

 

He's YO-SD size.

i just adored him so much so yeah i went for different skin colours, i ordered a grey first then white and pink skin!! lol i am still wanting a tan version too. i dont know why colin just appeals to me so much i really love him. i cant wait till they arrive. ive promised myself that i must finish up any loose ends with my dolls as i am thinking about leaving the hobby by the end of this year! so i suppose im buying everything i want and selling off what i can live without, although thats been really hard as i love them all

colin also fits in perfectly with all my egyptian theme dolls so he was just perfect for me!

That's fantastic. It's a shame that you're considering leaving the hobby, but I can definitely see wanting to get the population adjusted just as you like.

I had a really hard time deciding on skin, myself. Unfortunately, taking one of each wasn't an option at the moment -- but if he sticks around the site for long, I like your plan of just getting another. ^^ Why decide when you can have more?

 

i was only going to go for grey but the white was on my mind and then pink - then they were both bought it was a spare of the moment thing lol kind of like ooh i love to have them hold on im ok this month i can!! so i treated myself
i have ordered a few other bits to start towards a finish like a body for a floating head etc. i just felt that after looking at my dolls that i have managed to get most designs and its just twicking the finishing touches of the ones i love dearly

i cant wait till they are here. did any of you order the clothes? i did go for clothes but no face up or body blush so they will be blank. impldoll emailed me last week they have less than half of colin left so he has done well selling.

colin does look great in tan and those gold eyes are soo cute!

I didn't order clothing or human parts. I did request the blushing and a custom face-up, though, so I'm in the opposite boat. X3

I still haven't decided whether I want mine to wear a wig or have him go bald, possibly with some kind of headdress. I expect I'll figure that out better after he arrives.

 

lol i havent thought about a wig either. the outfit does come with a turbin type hat so not sure. i really went for the outfit for the neck piece as its an egyptian type of thing. im considering adding to the outfit set but how im not sure. i will work that out later.

ooh custom make up, so you choose a style? or colours you wanted them to do? i went for blank as i wanted to make them up myself but i have got some other impldolls with their factory face up's and their work is lovely.i have a little chick greta and they did a fantasic job on her

Edit - i just checked my tracking number no news at mo, im hoping they get here either before this weekend holiday or between this weekend and next weekend! lol as we have got a double bank holiday weekend in the UK it takes away the delivery days of colin coming home! lol
im so looking forward to him. anyway the main reason for the edit is impldoll have now said colin will come in a box and not the bag as he is a bit big for the bag!

 

I did really like the little turban but it doesn't suit the image I have for the character. I am thinking of just making my own little headdress for him, though, instead of giving him a wig. :3

I expect the default outfit would look good with arm bracers or maybe some other jewelry if you're going to add to it.

As for the custom face-up, I'd seen someone else on the Q&A board ask about doing different face-ups, which gave me the idea. I wanted a more mature look for mine, rather than the very youthful face-up they have for the default. I asked them specifically about Colin and whether they could do a face-up in the style of an SD doll, scaled down. They were super helpful and nice about it. They just told me to send a picture or description of what I wanted and they would do what they could. I'm not sure how it will come out, but I figured it was worth the try. ^^

Yeah, I was really pleased. ^^ I had figured I'd have to try winging it by myself, but this worked out very well.

This is my first time ordering from them, but if customer service so far has been anything to judge by, I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

 

ive orded a few times, the first was in Oct last year when they had a special offer of free doll when you spend so much - thats how i got my normal skin greta, then again at christmas they had spend so much get a free doll so i placed another order and i went for the kitty amiee another greta but in grey and harvey the tree. i have bought some clothes/wigs/shoes too and the service through out has been amazing! im very impressed with them as a company.

ooh im sooo looking forward to colin's getting here! lol i know it wont be till after the easter break now as tomorrow is good friday. im hoping they will come either tues wed or thurs next week as next fri its holiday for the royal wedding then may bank holiday weekend!
