1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

In and out of the BJD hobby?

Aug 24, 2011

    1. It took me years to buy a doll, and after getting into the hobby for one summer/fall I took a 2 year break, which was a great idea financially. I've been trying to take another break, but I keep seeing Limiteds that are hard to resist. One thing I regret about the time spent out of the hobby is that I didn't even check the "News" section of this forum and there are a few dolls I missed during that time that I know I'll never be able to own because they're so rare now.

    2. I think the only time I've really left the hobby was before I fully got into the hobby. The first time I saw these dolls was in 2004, and I got my first in 2006.

Ever since 2006, I've been in the hobby pretty much full-on. The only time I had a bit of a break was during my final term in college when I was concentrating in classes, an internship, and working nearly full time, but that was only for a couple months.

    3. I've had to take a few breaks that were school-work load related. Sometimes in life you have to focus one thing and set everything non-essential aside. But it was never a "selling-my-dolls" so of break, and I've always known I would come back to DOA. :)
