It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Instant/Quick BJD Family

Apr 4, 2007

    1. Wow! xD I wish I could make my doll family happen that fast. But at the same time, I don't. Mostly because I tend to impulse buy. Then, after having the doll around for a while, I realize he/she isn't right for my family, and the doll gets sold. x.x

      But for me, I'm a very sloooow person. xDD Let's see. I got Karo in April. Sultra in August. Karrian's body at Christmas. Then Ari's head in Feb... sold him in.. march? May? Somewhere around there. Got Rey's head around May.. body around July, sold her at the end of July, beginning of August. Sold Sultra in August/September. Bought Bedwyn in October, received him on the 26th. Now I has three. xD

    2. Let's see ..
      Somewhere around 2006 - started to know about BJD ...
      August 2007 - some LJ reminded me again about how beautiful BJD is, and got really into BJD.
      September 2007 - ordered my first one ever (SDF Dion).
      October 2007 - decided that my boy wouldn't be lonely boy, so I ordered my second one (AoD Gu). :)

      Now I'm thinking to get Mini or Tiny one next time, but I don't know when and which one yet.

    3. Faster than ever expected, that's for sure.
      In the year I've been in it, I've bought ten dolls (sold three). :| I originally planned to get only one. :sweat

    4. As you can see, I joined DoA in August of 2005, which was right around the time I received my first five dolls.

      The last time I tried to take a head count, I came up with at least 62 BJDs...

      Lol, I'm giving up trying to keep track of a total, and just resigned myself to running JRyu's combination Children's home/ Sanctuary for the non-human and other lost souls. ;D

    5. Well I always told myself I was only gonna get one...you know because I bought an El and I thought he was expensive :sweat. Now I have two and a floating head and I've only been in the hobby for almost 6 months. I already have my list planned for the newcomers in the new year (a Dollshe Saint and my twins...plus a body for my head)...but if Luts releases more SD or Minifees then I'll be bringing home more little resin children. Yeah I can see my resin family growing quite large but I feel that it is growing at a relatively normal rate...its those unexpected arrivals that get you though.

    6. I didn't really have a set number of dolls when I started but it feels like the family is almost complete. I bought my first in March 07, a 60cm obitsu and then I saw an orientdoll So for sale on ebay and then it sort of snowballed from there. Now I have 7 dolls with 2 more in the mail and one floating head. Granted of the 10 dolls 3 of them are tinies under 20cm it does seem like a lot. But then again I have about 25 of the OT 27cm obitsu/volks dolls. Now those little buggers can multiply!

    7. mine is growing slowly ^^

      Doll one ordered on 31st Jan arrived in March
      Doll two & Three in May & Mid June, arrived in August
      Two floating heads arrived in August as well.

      Well doll 2 isn't really mine (it's my brother's but still kinda like mine as he was sent to me and i won him...)

      So... 3 dolls and 2 heads in about 10 months. I like to go slowly. But i'm hoping to get my 3rd/4th in another 2-3 months if i'm allowed. (Really i would have my 3rd/4th doll already if my parents allowed it)

    8. Zarr arrived Sept. 26th, and Mural's head arrived October 17th (woo! One month!). I'm ordering Zarr's alternate head tonight or tomorrow (whenever I get the invoice), and hoping to get Mural's body and Yukio's head after Christmas.

      Yukio's body...I have no idea when. When I have more hours at work, I suppose -- I'm on shortened hours until the company deems it to be "holiday busy-time". :(

      Then after Yukio's body, Dominy and Vally will be ordered together whenever Luts reopens Kid Delfs.

      (Vachel, Belial, and Obsi are just distant plans that I amuse myself with. XD)

      So the family has been growing slowly...but not too slowly. xD;; Especially when you consider that in the meantime, I've been spoiling Zarr quite well. x-x;

    9. Let me see...

      I got Bob (Obitsu Haruka head) around September-October of 2006;

      Weros' head (CP Juri 2006) was bought right around January 1st, 2007;

      Bob was sold mid-January;

      I recieved Mikelandros (Soom Namu) January 29;

      I recieved Kasada's head (Elfdoll K SS) around March 3;

      I received Gaia (Cherishdoll Alley) on March 18th;

      I received Weros' body (Bobobie Ophelia, now a hermaphrodite mod) on April 11;

      Sold Ophelia head around late April;

      ...then we have a break, due to bills and Anime Expo...

      I received Kasada's body (Elfdoll Tall) on August 30;

      I ordered a Fairyland Puki Piki (Jonas) on November 1;

      my wonderful friend Kurara placed my Sato FCS order for Asalahan on November 10 (check out the MP for her FCS thread!)

      and I received a sleeping CD Alley head for Gaia November 16th.

      So basically, I've ordered 6.5 dolls in the last year, two of which are still in the works. I'll be ordering two more in the next few months. :)

      O_o

    10. I have! Within the span of five months I've accumulated three dolls (four if you count the DZ promo bunny that's on its way to me!) I'm on the hunt for another doll second-hand and am waiting for yet another to be restocked; and I plan on getting a floating head to switch with one of my current dolls.

      . . . and to think I only planned for three initially! I can only hope that none of the companies release a 70cm vampire, or else I'll be lusting after yet another doll. Heh.

    11. I've accumulated steadily - I enjoy getting a doll, soaking it up, and then working towards the next. I don't really like getting them BAMBAMBAM right after/at the same time as the other. But I don't like long gaps of no new resin :<

    12. Hmmm....

      January 2005 Ordered Elfdoll Ryung
      Feburary 2005 eBay custom Delf Shiwoo
      Ordered Delf Elf Lishe from Liria
      March 2005 Isao II on DoA
      And so on....LOL.

      So here I am nearing three years later in January 2008 with about 50 BJDs.... :)

    13. haha, i was just thinking of my timeline last night XD

      A few years ago: Friend and i saw a BJD pic for the first time on a users website on this one art site we use to frequent.. We were intrigued. "oooh pretty! And BIG!" *looks up company* "more pretty! ACK $$$$$!!!!!" (early highschool. no jobs, and dolls that cost as much as if not more than our skates. Ouch ^^; )

      May (07):While on anothe forum (gaia) i was looking at a users profile (again XD) and saw their dolls. In the profile, they had explained "no, they arent dollfies! They're from *insert company here*, and there area many different kinds =D" Then there were lots of pics of their lovelies. Intrigued again, and recaling my facination with them a few years back, i looked around agian.
      June: I was pretty sure i knew what i wanted. Torn between 2, though, a delf and a kid. After somet hough and some gallery pics, i decided on Aru.
      July: Halfway saved up, and went to animenext. Uberobservant, i saw dolls everywhere. Gott o hold one, and that was it, i knew it was right.
      August 10th: Placed order for kid delf Aru
      About a week later: helped friend place order for her Luwen, and got a kid delf 1003 head along with it.
      September: Her order was delivered. To her dorm in boston. I wasnt going to see that head for a bit x.o;
      September 21st: My 20th birthday, she came down to visit and brough the head (now Ryn) with her ^^
      September 29th: Piper, my Aru was delivered.
      November 17th: Ryn's body was delivered (ordered froma user here just 2 weeks earlier)

      Now i'm almost saved up for my 3rd, a Bory. Should be ordering him soon ^^ (in about a month or so)

      And no, i never said itd' be just one XD I knew me better thn that!

    14. I was into BJDs for a really long time before I finally got around to buying one. Honestly, it was a few years and I would have a streak of really really wanting one every six months or so, and eventually gave in in Feb 2007. June saw my 2nd doll, August or so saw my 3rd and I've ended up with 3 floating heads for her since then. But this end of the year I I'm going to end up with a whole bunch real fast (hopefully!). 2 dollzones, another floating heads, an iplehouse, a dimdoll possibly.

    15. I bought my Tiffee in September, I'm looking for the perfect Tiny, and I'll have my AA Shi on Christmas day. So I'd say my family will be pretty large in only a short amount of time. But hey, if you love something, and you have the funds, why not? :)

    16. Meep. From 0 to 3 in just 3 months. My first came in September My second on October and my third should have come this month of November but I sent my dear off for her face-up before opening her So I expect her in either late December or January. It was really convenient to just ship her off the same day I got her as I had picked her up from the Post office. I feel a bit bad that I didn't even take a peek at her....moo~

      But for me, it's quite easy to accumulate a lot of money in a short space of time if I don't have any major financial obligations holding me back. 2007 was good for me but because of these dolls, 2008 doesn't look so bright in the financial department... ha ha ha!

    17. I did the exact same thing! I have known about - and wanted a BJD for years, but honestly thought they were always in the thousands of dollars range. I was surprised to discover that some were far cheaper than that - and was thrilled! Even so, I kept holding off, and holding off, and holding off, until my best friend bought one at a convention. I managed to hold off another three months before finally breaking down and buying on.

      Now I'm waiting on my fourth. :sweat

    18. The diversity and the selection in this hobby, just blows my mind. Like people no two are exactly alike. My collection has grown from zero in February to two, which like a snail, moved pretty fast for me. I already have my eye on two more plus another head for the same SD body, hopefully with Christmas just around the corner, I will be able to get them before year's end, if they are NOT sold out already.

      Love this thread. Makes me glad I am not the only "crazy addicted person" in the whole world!!!

    19. My family has grown fairly quickly. I now have 4 dolls, 3 on layaway, and 1 on the way. I knew about bjds for awhile, but was never really interested in purchasing one. Then about Feb/March of 2007, I began to really want a lati yellow, so I got one and loved her. Then I found the BC elves around June/July. BC wasn't having an elf event at the time, so I began looking for other dollies with magnetic wings. I found the OD tinies and ordered one. Then ordered a BC elf during the next elf event, I think that was August. Soon after, someone posted a pic of their BC elf and a Pipos Curo, and I had to have one, so I put a Curo on layaway. Then I decided to branch out of the tinies and I ordered a SK Apple. She arrived on Friday, and I love her. I also have a DZ Ray fullset and bunny on layaway, and another BC elf on the way.

      So, in almost a year that's 8 dolls, though most are tinies. That's a little faster than I like. I plan not to buy anymore for awhile and concentrate on purchasing clothes. I only have 3 more dolls on my wishlist, anyway...at least for now :)
