It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Internal organs, for realisms sake?

Mar 25, 2009

    1. That would be really interesting to see, I don't know if I would ever want them though. Outside of obvious practical limitations of getting in the way, it would feel a little weird to humanize them THAT much. It wouldn't bother me to have one already like that, but I'm a tad too squeamish and uninterested to want to try to make them myself. ^^

    2. Geh, I'm one of those people who "if I can't see it, then there's no point."

My boy is always dressed, so I wouldn't really see the point in putting organs inside him (and plus that would make him twice the weight already--which I DON'T WANT D: ). Same thing with underwear. I don't see the point in getting underwear when he wears pants all the time. >_>

If it was something like a zombie doll, or some weird ass guro character, then go for it, but if it's there just for the heck of it. I find there to be no point. :\

This is all just my opinion of course, anyone can do whatever they want for their dolls. :P

    3. LOL! I'm now tempted to go look for a squishy brain that will fit in the skull cap of my doll! A pink brain XD

And I can see a heart maybe, but entrails? A stuffed liver? OTOH, I got this last year and think it's awesome!

    4. I would only go as far as a felt brain just to amuse myself. Other than that I think I would be slightly disturbed.

    5. Doesn't the new Soom Idealian body have a brain instead of an S-hook?

    6. im looking forward to get my Idealian Gluino and paint his brain. and "eww!" all the people i have around. (so no more grabby hands).

    7. Id be scared to break my dolly if I tried to give her organs. At the most, I would give her brains, that seems easy enough, just removing a faceplate.

    8. I thought the "brain" in Gluino is pretty gross. I bought him but i'm not really looking forward to opening his skull to put the eyes in

    9. I think internal organs would be an interesting endeavor but not something I would do myself. I think it would add to the "creepiness" factor ten fold on the dolls too. It could be a good or a bad thing but I would rather stay away from it. As for brains, that seems more easily done in addition to being amusing!

    10. LOL...RimiReku - maybe i'll get used to the "brain"

    11. Ughhh.. I can't even imagine organs within myself without feeling nauseous, let alone a doll... I'll just go on appreciating the outside! Though the brains idea is quite funny, for scaring family purposes.

    12. I used to imagine I would paint a little heart inside of my dolls chest. Not some anatomically correct "CHECK OUT THEM VENTRICLES!!" kind of heart, just a little :aheartbea kind of thing. I couldn't do other organs though. Too squicky :ablah:

    13. I think plushie parts would be kind of funny and cute but anything realistic would freak me out too much. I actually did a sculpture project where I made organs spilling out of a broken pinata and that was gross/creepy enough. I really couldn't imagine if I did it coming out of a doll...I think I would've scared people even more!

    14. truthfully, i fine the brain and internal organ thing creepy \(o__o)\ I definitely wouldnt do that... And everytime you take the head cap off itll feel like your.... stealing their brains and nuuuuu! so scary ><

    15. Erm, i don't think I'll go that far. That's pretty creepy I think...

    16. I just had to check that out to confirm. Made me laugh so hard though, nice peanut they've got there XD.

    17. I just realized at the end of this thread that Soom had finally released Idealians... I feel silly.
I want one so bad, lol.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I don't think I would want a doll with organs except if I became a nurse, lol. Too bad I now want to become a lawyer.

    18. I wouldn't want organs in the doll for several reasons. Firstly it's pointless, and apart from the brain you won't be able to even see them. Secondly, it will make the doll heavier. This will make the doll heavier to carry, and it will make shipping costs even more expensive. Thirdly, the price will be further raised by the added cost and complexity of making and assembling a doll with organs. Fourthly, it will be more difficult to maintain and restring the doll.

So in summary it would cost more and be less practical, and for something that you can't even see, it's just not worth it. However, as others had said a 'brain' wouldn't be much of an issue.

Also it might be kind of cute to be able to have a 'heart' of some form, perhaps a little heart shaped plate attached to the doll on the inside with the dolls company make and model on, or perhaps even an option to pay extra to have your name (or anything else you wanted) inscriped on the 'heart'....but that might be a little pointless if you can't see it XD

    19. Lol. If I couldn't see them, I don't think I would have any interest in organs XD My Charles is juuuuust fine without a brain or a heart or anything else going on inside his body.

HOWEVER! I am working on a mod soon that will have a giant hole cut in a girl's body, and she'll have small, clockwork organs inside her stomach, chest and whatnot, including ribs and a spine. I can't wait, actually XD She's going to have a clicking heart, too (if I can manage it) that will be powered by a windup on her back... So, not entirely realistic, per se, but she WILL have organs.
