Iplehouse 70cm EID Akando Discussion Part 3

It's not just the EIDs it's all of Iple House's real skin dolls. Even the new UV protected ones are fading and greening although not as fast as the unprotected real skins. The new resin they're using is unstable according to those in the know. All I know is I can't afford to buy another IH doll just to watch it go to krap way before it's time.

Zombie boys, I love it! XD With you on the EID > Idealian front. But I love that there are more beefy guys to choose from.

I think it's hard to say if ALL of them have greened as not ALL owners are gonna speak up to confirm/deny. My Evan's doing fine but I've been careful from the start, some of the earlier Akando's didn't have the advance warning.

 

I think it's a bit misleading to say all the realskin dolls are greening. I would say all realskin dolls have the potential to green. I've had my Evan-Tamer since the beginning of March, and he still looks fine. And I wasn't hyper-protective of him from the start. He went outside in the sun for a photoshoot once, and he's been outside but not in dirfect sunlight a few more times than that. When I first got him, he just hung out in my room. It was usually pretty dark, but I didn't worry about light too much. Of course he spend most of his time hiding from the light now though.

I've been trying to decide what I'd do if, heaven forbid, he did turn green at this point. I'm really too in love with the realskin to re-shell him in NS or WS, so I figure that leaves me get a new one in RS, blush the one I have now to conceal greening, dye the one I have now, or buy a new one in in WS and dye it. I'm really hoping Iple will figure out an even more stable RS formula in the future and I won't have to worry about it much.

 

It would make sense that there are issues with a 'new' type of resin combo thing (I suppose all resin mixes are unique, and may react in similar ways). I was just wondering if it was happening to ALL the realskin dolls, or if "only" some/half/most of them seemed to change. In other words: Are there people whose realskin dolls have not changed significantly/turned green?

Keepithushhush - Yeah! And yes, it's definitely great that there are more beefy guys out there (I was just about to call them broad. Ha ha. Broad guys sounds like a paradox. Ha! Okay, no more insomniac coffee to me...). I have always thought that BJDs needed more realistic proportions, so I am happy to see a trend moving towards this. I'm also very interested in seeing the model body.

I'm glad to hear that you and Kaede-chan have not really seen changes in color, either. I would get around them turning green, but of course i'd prefer if they didn't. XD If mine miscolored heavily, i'd either go with the zombie look, or try to dye it.

 

Just a question, how does an EID man look compared to one of Iple's 60cm ladies? I want them to be a couple [the girl is supposed to look much younger and more petite than him] but honestly, is the size difference TOO great? I want their height and age difference to be obvious, but at the same time, I don't want my EID boy looking like a pedo.

I got the SE Akando thinking it would be alright if I was cautious, plus most of the dolls I've seen haven't had bad greening or have been handled in a way that make it work wonderfully. They're really gorgeous looking but so big and heavy! The height I could deal with but the mans thighs are massive. I can't wrap my hand around and have my fingers touch my thumbs, a good way off infact! If he didn't look like a dirty ol pervert next to my delf it would have worked out so much better lol. Although my Chihuahua running from him almost made it worth it...

How fast do these green? I've had my Akando for only a couple days and the top half of his chest (with the neck and shoulder connections already looks a lot darker than the skin around it. ><.

Is there anything that can be done?

 

The greening seems to make the skin lighter, rather than darker. Also, unless he was exposed to bright, direct light in those few days, it takes longer than this. I wonder whether this is greening or something else. Do you have pictures?

 

My camera's not good enough to catch it yet, but it's rather alarming, because yeah, I've been trying hard to protect him .

I asked Iplehouse, but haven't heard back from them yet.

 

Just jumping in to weigh in on the greening front and say I have 3 of the EID realskin guys, Strongman Luo in brown skin and Kamau in the dark skin and have seen no greening/color change with my crew. The first one arrived in June of this year. Kamau arrived end of August or so. I was aware at the get go that this could be a problem and I keep them in a room without direct sunlight, and keep them covered when I'm not playing with them. I also don't use any overhead lighting in the room they are in (only table lamps that are a ways away from the dolls). My Strongman Luo and Kamau have been outside, although not in direct sunlight and I take pics of them often in the direct light that shines into my back room. Just wanted to say it's certainly NOT all of the realskin dolls that have had issues with greening. It does pay to be aware and take precautions if you do, but mine certainly don't live in their boxes.

 

Sunkily, where did you get those sandals? I want one for my Akando.. but no one seems to make that big size..

 

Just a heads up. I brought a pr of the Souldoll Zenith Boots HERE and they fit my Akando. Just in case anyone was looking for smart shoes.

 

Just a quick update on Ip's after sales service replacement thang. I finally decided to swap my green/tan Akando for an NS one as I love to have him out to play with and would feel extremely frustrated if I had to keep him under cover for the reast of his dolly life. Well, the transaction was very straightforward. I sent Ip some photos that showed the greening and asked if I could buy an NS doll on the A/S offer. They immediately put together an order for me, which I have now paid for. The doll was 60% of the currrent price. I also aksed for a sleeping head rather than the gentle head and a different set of option hands. As these were not the same as the original, I paid full price for those. That is fine. So, yes, it works.

 

I thought I would post Elliot since he was quite green when I got him and after a full body work by Ziproth Aesthetics, he is green no more....
he now lives full time in a room with little direct sunlight. I never cover him either.
