1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Iplehouse 70cm EID Akando Discussion Part 3

Jul 15, 2009

    1. My Jessica hasnt even arrived yet nonetheless shipped and I am already planning Akandos purchase within the next few days. These threads and all your photos of this dreamy man have really pushed me over the edge! And what is a beautiful woman without a gorgeous man beside her! Just have to do it.

    2. Has anyone tried the Soom hooves or wolf legs on their EID?
If they have and I missed it please post the link?

      Thanks.

    3. The Soom legs are very skinny compared to the massive EID legs, Mire Lapin. They would just disappear into the thigh. It would be lovely to have huge Shire horse or bull legs on an EID though, wouldn't it *goes off into a haze*

And does anyone need to see an Akando sleeping head blank? If so, shout soon before I faceup mine.

    4. I don't NEED to, but i WANT to.

please post a pic for posterity!

    5. LOL Pam. It is sooooooo cyuuuute! I can't wait to get it painted and then I can have a little snoozing Horse lounging on my lap.

Horse-of-a-Different-Colour now has a faceup and I just need to sand all those seams, blush those acres of resin body and replicate his tattoos. Phew! I didn't think this would be such hard work.

    6. AWWWW a sleeping HOrse...so cute...

I wish I was good sculptress...I would love to make Shire hooves for one of Granger's Dopplegangers.

    7. Souldoll is coming out with an SD size white resin horse; a regular horse with the 4 legs thing. Maybe there could be some adapting there for EID horse legs.

    8. Trouble is, Souldoll's horse looks like it belongs to Barbie ;) Also, the legs are pretty skinny so I don't see them fitting Mr Thunderthighs unforunately.

    9. I gotta agree about the horse...that head is WAY to cartoony for me. SO sad a s they have such great sculpters there.
I do like how they jointed the legs though...I just might need to study them more closely to make some for Granger....hmmmm EID Pan anyone?

    10. *P’shaw* I was hoping with some modification one could make the lower half (knee down) work; crushed now, thanks.

      @ PamSD: "...EID Pan anyone?"
Who are you? Are you tapping into my brain!

    11. well....I have been known to be slightly psychic....or is that psychotic?

    12. I'm wondering if anyone uses dollstands for your EID guys, and if yes, which shop did you get them?
I am trying this Dollmore metal stand at the moment - it works, he stands quite good, but I'm not sure if this is good for my boy when using the stand for a long time. The metal clip holding his chest is VERY tight. Even the stand is black, it hasn't stained yet (I'm using it on naked doll), but it's really tight, so I'm afraid it could brake one day (can metal actually brake?), or, if I use it outside of dark clothing, it might stain because it's so tight. :sweat
      Any suggestions please?

    13. Gosh! How did you manage to get that stand around his chest? I admire your determination!

I also use the Dollmore stands, but only as a temporary measure (to stabilise him for a photo, for example). It is far too flimsy to trust for long term standing, imo. And the thing is, I put the arms of the stand around his thigh! You might get one of those really sturdy wooden stands that would support him. A heavy duty teddy bear stand, perhaps?

Also, be warned that the ends of the arms can mark the doll. I think it must be the rubber stoppers that do it.

    14. Oh it was possible to get the clip around his chest (very close to his hips) because of his slimmer model body, but first I also tried it with Akando's hero body, which also worked.
The rubber at the edges has stained him a little, but I could remove it with magic sponge very easily.
To get doll or teddy bear stands here in Austria is quite impossible :sweat But I will check other stores in Germany or first I'd like to try this other Dollmore stand (from Glib) - if I get the clip around his hips, it might work better.

I like the idea of the doll stand arm around his thigh, I'll try this!

    15. I use $3, too small, stands from Michaels. He can only fit one foot on it and it grabs his thigh. Works pretty well most of the time. He broke one though due to it not quite being prepared for his weight when I moved him around too roughly.

    16. Wish I could help.
Might I suggest that you send a PM or email to Charon and ask him.
I'm sure he could help as he's in (or close to) Melbourne and is very friendly.

    17. Where do y'all get your wigs for your big boys? And how much play do they have in the sizing? I'm having one heck of a time finding a wig in the style/color I'm looking for. Or rather, I can find the style/color, but not the right size. :| I've found a few that are close that are 8-9 and say they'll stretch up to a 10, but I'm skeptical.

    18. I use 8-9 on Granger...I like a tighter fit. Of course stretch caps are a must in this size.

    19. I use 8-9 Moniques. They do have the stretchy cap but the fit is perfect.

    20. Make your doll can bow and rise
