Iplehouse 70cm EID Akando Discussion Part 3

my dilemma is that I know that I want to order Akando but can't decide between the model & superhero body type. I see on the iplehouse site that the superhero body was sold seperately previously. I just thought that if I'm unable to decide I might choose the model body first off and then buy the superhero body if it becomes available. Does anyone know when they're likely to reissue this body type again?

 

oh I'm sure they will. But finding an Akando head for the model body? Has anyone tried this yet?

 

Norma in NZ, the superhero body was never sold separately. They put up a separate sales page for it just so that people could see what it looked like, but it has never been possisble to buy. It might be worth asking Ip if they ever plan to do this.

I knew I would forget I ever offered this, but I remembered just as I was about to take the pastels to it.

Here is the blank Akando sleeping head. It is wonderful and serene, as all sleeping heads are, and I can't wait to having a snoozing Horse stretched out on my desk. I find sleeping sculpts soooo relaxing.

Ok so I've looked around the forum and I can't find anything about it so I'm gonna ask.

I'm looking to buy a limited edition fullset Akando Pierrot but I'm a bit worried about the skin. I've heard that the Real Skin has turned green on some of the old dolls!

Is there a chance that he will turn green? (I know yellowing can happen if they are exposed to sunlight for a while which I'm not worried about). And is there any way to prevent it?

I didn't find a thread on Pierrot Akando so I'll just post here. There's a realskin Akando with the pierrot faceup on the DOA marketplace right now and I'm thinking about getting it to share a body with my incoming realskin Tedros. Has anybody tried removing that pierrot faceup? And do you think the realskin NC Akando would match the realskin NC Tedros?

 

Whoa, I read this after I'd posted my question. We may be interested in the same Akando Pierrot! LOL! Well, I think you're more serious about it than I am so I'm gonna step aside for you.

The simple answer is yes. See this thread. But if kept covered (or in his box) when you're not interacting with him, and out of fluorescent lighting, he should be fine - mine is creamy but not green. But, alas at some point he will turn - even the UV Protect version.

Taydr, there are so many other things that I want to buy right now so I may end up not getting the Akando Pierrot head. Still I want to know, can the Crow-like pierrot faceup be removed easily? It looks pretty solid and thick. I asked the seller this question but I was told to inquire elsewhere.

Mire Lapin, OMG! Even fluorescent and other artificial lights can cause him to turn green?? Jeez, talk about high maintenance! This makes me want to exchange my realskin Tedros for a normal-skin one even more!
