1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Iplehouse B.I.D. Baby discussion part 9

Jul 7, 2016

    1. Does no one buy/order BIDs much anymore? I just checked the waiting list and I don't see many (if any) on the list since last December. I prefer the smaller sized dolls, but it seems like in Iplehouse groups the larger dolls are so much more popular.

    2. I don't know about other people, but I've not bought any new ones in a while. I already have a dozen BIDs in my collection, and as much as I love them, there's a limit to just how many dolls I can handle. At this point I tell myself I really should sell one if I want another, because I have way too many dolls, but I find I can't part with any of them.

That being said, I did like Judith very much, and am toying with the idea of an Addiction Efreet, and having the fangs sanded down, so she's just a very talkative little girl. I'm finding that I can do so much more story-wise with the dolls that actually have some kind of expression. It might be fun having a BID who talks everyone's ears off.

Right now all my BIDs are in their finest after attending a recent wedding - well, the girls are - the boys didn't care (or more truthfully, they did't have any fancy dress-up clothes)

    3. I was very disapointed with the last released sculps but I do love my Anne and hope she gets a sister again. I had Bono but she had a too much generic face for me.
But yes the bigger dolls are more popular

And I'm too lazy for waiting rooms

    4. I have 3 BIDs so far (Efreet, Erzulie & Aki), but as much as I love them, I have been getting every Fairyland release of their Realfees. :O

    5. it doesn't help that the last 'small dolls' that came out came on the heels of 'new style bodies' for the big dolls and it's also been a bit since truely new stuff came out... they just seemed to 'gloss over' the selling potential of the sleeping face.... They don't seem to be able to time releases well at all lately.. i think if the sleep face came out with enough of a time gap for ppl to recoup monies they would have sold more... add to that the fact they are not making new clothing hardly at all now... It's as if iple's focus has shifted... personally i have TWO large (EID) dolls i need before filling my littles... oh and the discontinuing of heads is throwing more trouble at us keeping us from spending on the dolls.

    6. I appreciate the replies. It gives me a new perspective on why and how people collect. I had three BIDs, sold one and now have another on layaway. I don't intend to have a large collection since I also collect other lines, but I can't resist these little cuties. Photos in this thread are very inspirational!

    7. Small dolls are great. I build a cute diorama for my Anne in my bookshelf with cabinet doors and still have room for my FID above her. They are also easy to transport etc

I just hope they bring soon a new bid with charackter. The last released ones all had that generic facial expression that Iplehouse prefer

    8. I agree. I love the small dolls too, for that very reason. I also agree that many of the latest releases in both KID and BID look too much like existing sculpts, so they become more or less 'twins' to a doll I already have. I'd rather have a brand new sculpt with some character, as you said.

But any new release would have to be truly fantastic before I'd get it, since I have lots of other even smaller dolls coming in right now, and there's only so much room.

    9. What an adorable scene!!

Life has been getting in the way of my doll hobby. Otherwise, I would have two more BID and two more KID. Along with a Realfee Coco. :D I love Anne and Judith and I really want a Paige and an Angela. I did just do an impulse buy on an Ellia. I was browsing Iplehouse for fun yesterday and there was a stained normal skin Ellia on auction and on a whim, I bid......just paid for her. Whoops!! Sometimes you just have to say YES to yourself. I was going to see if I could widen her eyes a bit so she doesn't look so sleepy. I agree that some of the sculpts are very similar. I'm sorry I wasn't able to get a Coco before he/she was discontinued. I love the look of the bigger dolls, was thinking about a FID Yur, but I had to get real with myself. I just don't play with the larger dolls. I had a JID Kassia. She was so gorgeous, but I just never played with her, so she had to leave.

    10. Life has been getting in the way here too, and there's always so many other things that need doing. Plus, I have other dolls that need attention too. So here's another shot from the summer...

    11. Such a great picture! I love their floaties!

My Ellia arrived. I tried opening her eyes a bit, but I didn't take off enough. I was afraid of taking off too much. Maybe sometime I will take another wack at it. She still looks too sad/sleepy.

    14. Thank you so much!! I made the outfit years ago for a Littlefee, so it doesn't really fit...doesn't close in the back and she can't sit down in the tight pants. :)

Oh my goodness!! This is perfect! Is Dad a JID?

    15. @DancingBee - Yes, he's a JID Owen. My second Owen, since he's the only sculpt that looks mature enough. This guy was ordered specifically to make another family with my JID Isis ('I') and was painted completely different. Here's their whole family....

    16. Such beautiful photos as always, @MB Lilac!! Is that sock yarn you use for their wonderful sweaters?

    17. @El BJD - Yes, four of the sweaters were made with sock yarn. But the red/white/black Fair Isle sweater on the far right was knit from needle-punch yarn.

    18. Thank you!!!

    20. Awwww!! So much fun!! Love the little clown costume! Well, I love them all actually. :)

I tried my Ellia with a red wig today. She needs a name.
