Any "extra" doll heads I accumulate and don't paint usually end up on the Marketplace. If I open my spare parts bin, unwrap a head and have to ask myself, "Who's that?" or worse, "I didn't know I had this!" the head is not a keeper.
I'd forgotten I owned a 60cm body *hangs head in shame*. In my somewhat defense, I rarely buy just a head and the body was supposed to go for my Dollshe Orijean head that I'd bought ages ago during one of the discontinued sales. He refused the buff body and is happily on a Dollshe body now. I "found" the body when I was looking for something. But! I have an Angel Toast Crow head on that body now so yea. I have 1 floating head I have no idea what to do with but I don't want to sell it as it's the default head for my Souloid boy.
One floating head is not the worst that could happen, but if you find yourself accumulating a half-dozen or more--and you have no plans for them and haven't painted them--it's time to clean house!
True enough. I do have a head that I suppose is technically floating but that is more due to the fact that I haven't bought his body yet (other dolls keep jumping the que on the poor guy) and just recently the company that sells his body announced that they were temporarily stopping the sales of dolls/parts so they could catch up on their backlog right when I was about to buy him his body *sigh*. And with Doll North literally days away... there exists the possibility that somebody could come home with me. Not saying it will happen but the chance exists. I did come home with that Angel Toast Crow head last year....
wow! Leah arrived today. super-fast shipping. I really like her. unfortunately, her lower body is floppy. cooked noodles floppy. but, the knot for the legs is right at her tummy so it shouldn't be too much trouble to tighten her up. as long as the elastic is new. I have a Dollshe boy who was a puddle when he arrived. had to get fresh elastic cord. now I need to paint it blue. she looks great in GSR. will paint her head this week. love her clothes. and the butterfly shoes are so fantasy perfect for her. She really has the same esthetic as my Serenade girl. all legs and arms with a long neck. elegant.
Congrats on Leah's arrival @petiteballerine! My Chloe was a little looser than normal but definitely not in the cooked noodle category. Good thing you can reach the knot. My Dollshe boy was anything but loose when he arrived. After a year he's still so tight that I can't even investigate to see where the knot is. If and when I find it I suspect the knot will be too tight to untie. A puddle would have been easier to deal with.
Great wig, @Helgovochka! Is that Iple's new Rose Gold color? Looks like Freija is head over heels about it.
Yep, It's Rose Gold and with different light it has different color impression red/pink. I found out that it's perfect for her face up...
Normally, my dolls have a name from the Paypal stage of acquisition, but if not, surely when I paint them. This girl's name eludes me. She's a tricksy Faery, after all. Suggestions welcome. Eventually, she'll have two tatt sleeves, nose and ear piercings. She really wanted to say hello.
@petiteballerine - I don't know why but the name Savannah popped into my head when I saw her. Either that or Phoebe.
Yesterday I've received my precious Ilmina (Chloe human head) with her outfit as body is a bit older (about 2,5 years...) than head, so colors are different (Both are white originally) Full outfit on her https://flic.kr/p/2gwSi5P And my Creaa party =)) (sorry for not great quality of pic... I've been using my phone...) https://flic.kr/p/2gwSi27
@Helgovochka - Wow, I've never seen Iplehouse colors change to that extent! Just looking at the photo I would have said that the body was normal skin. I like this faceup and I love the blue wig on her.
I guess she was sitting on a sunlight as back looks way much better. And her wings were not used, so color stays almost the same white as it should be
@petiteballerine - It just occurred to me she looks like actress Cate Blanchett in that photo. So how about Cate? I also like Darcy, as @Dyelee91 suggested.
When Elves go Hollywood. Rowan fought for her name. I thought it was too cliche for a redheaded Elf, but dolls want what they want. (thanks to everyone with name ideas. I thought I could outsmart her.)
@petiteballerine - Rowan works. I like it. Looks like she does, too. Love the shades. They're a little big but they make a statement.
