1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Iplehouse CREAA Doll

Apr 10, 2018

    1. @nattherat Yeaaahh, I can understand the anxiety in light of ongoing events. :sweat Apologies for the glib remark. I keep thinking back to that proverb about living in interesting times and wondering who wished this on us all. Glad you were able to complete the layaway - agree that you wouldn't want to have to lose all that money.

@Iron_Dog I remember a glorious year when our Aussie dollar was almost in parity with the USD. Ahhh, those were the days... Man, I wish I'd known about BJDs back then!!

    2. Yeah. The CAN$ got worse over the last few days while I've been dithering over a doll purchase. My indecision will cost me some $$ in exchange *grumbles*.

    3. That was exactly why I decided to pay off the layaway haha! When the referendum happened here in the UK, and GBP crashed, I’d JUST paid off a Dollshe. If I had waited and that sink happened, I wouldn’t have been able to buy the doll at all. GBPs had such a severe drop that it has entirely changed the financial landscape for us. Of course it could be worse (it can always be worse), but it’s reframed luxury purchases for me. I think Dollshe dolls are great, but unfortunately I will never be able to justify the price again with post-brexit economy. DollZone suddenly seem way more expensive to me where they were previously an extremely affordable company, etc. I don’t want to risk Leah over the same!

      @eland no worries, I didn’t take offence! :)

    4. @eland Was looking over your hybrid experiment, very interesting! Thanks for all the detailed photos. Boy, the bjd world runs on inexact proportions. But with a body that slender it gets worse. I bit the bullet recently and bought an Echo Town doll whose head is the same size as CREAA so I'll be able to try that on the body and I may as well try a Rosette head for fun. Those are the heads for the skinny body crowd. In fact I got the CREAA as a replacement for Rosette desire. And I actually prefer the Iplesculpts so that's a win.

Luckily I got no issues with exchange rate or customs. Whew! Then again, we got our issues...

Just saw that they tried to deliver Zinnia today! Guess I'll be picking her up at the post office tomorrow...

    5. @dollhausen :aeyepop: Ooh, that's so exciting!! I would so love to see the Echo Town head on this body if it wouldn't be too much trouble. :blush
The Rosette would be an interesting comparison too. I think you're not alone in getting the CREAA as a substitute.

    6. At the last local meet, somebody asked to take pics of Wisp (Lev) next to their Rosette girls as a possible BF for one of them. They share the same aesthetic and looked really good together with Wisp being a touch taller than the Rosette girl. Unfortunately I don't have pics of that as Wisp has a partner and I don't collect girls.

    7. @eland Yep, as soon as she gets here, I'll get on that. Three part harmony. I think the CREAA was a good idea on Iple's part since it picks up a market that the lackluster minds running Soom these days have left behind and it allows them to offer something of the slenderiffic DC aesthetic but for those that want more realistic looking sculpts. Good all around.

    9. @Helgovochka - Thank you. I'm really happy with how everything came together.

    11. Hooray, shipping notice! I can’t wait to see it in person, especially since it will be interesting to see how Leah fits on the male body!

This is Ginny. I Love this girl! The faceup looks nice with the white skin (that yellow is the modeling lamp on my strobe). The IpleWig is sorta big. The shoes I got her are too large but I'm awaiting others. I really like the body too. I got her name from doing a search on popular names in the Roaring Twenties. She can go drinking with Vermont Chick's Zelda...

    14. Nothing says love like an Iplehouse box. :3nodding: Congrats on Ginny's arrival, @dollhausen. Black and white is a great look for her but I agree she could use a smaller wig. My girls wear a 5-6. Zelda says she'd love to go drinking with Ginny...

@Helgovochka - That wig is a good choice for Clive. Love the photos of him with his fairy! (Her dress is adorable.)

    15. @Helgovochka Nice! I love the camera. And yes, seeing him and his fairy together.

@vermont chick Now the search for a wig that fits and looks good begins....I do have a bunch of msd clothes coming from other sources. Shoes is probably going to be harder than I thought. With those skinny gams, the scale is going to be key to the overall gestalt of the look.

    16. Thanks =) This dress is one of my favorite =)))

Aaaaand... finally I can provide an updated version of CREAA stockings... https://yadi.sk/i/UrhSrls43ZPp3f
Hope it'll be useful somehow =)

    17. @Helgovochka That's a nice picture. Those boots don't look too bad either. Not as oversized as others I've seen. Good work on putting the ensemble together and matching with scaled objects. As a result the view out the window feels natural. I like it.

    18. My Creaa is finally ready to be delivered! ...except the courier charges extra for weekend delivery, and I’m at work all the time. :( I have to wait until someone else can take delivery of it for me on Monday! Very frustrating, I want it now haha!

    19. That's frustrating, @nattherat. I really feel for you. If the extra courier charge isn't too much I'd go that route myself. When I was still working I would take time off to go collect packages at the Post Office. Not my preferred way to use up vacation time, but what else can you do when you leave for work before the PO opens and get home after they close.

    20. @nattherat ugh, Monday feels like ages away and I'm not even waiting for a doll!
Hope you've got fun plans for the weekend to distract yourself.

@Helgovochka thanks for sharing the stockings pattern :) This girl and her skinny skinny legs may need it (if I'm brave enough)
