As for eyes for the dark brown skin tones, try light brown, dark brown, green, gold, or very light blue eyes. Here is my dark brown EID Carina, and my light brown EID Lahela-
My Panchita is home (iplehouse Zera). Iโm so happy with her. The face up is gorgeous and I love her dark brown color so much. This is the link of the box opening.https://denofangels.com/threads/panchita-la-mexicana-iplehouse-zera.885348/ Panchita La Mexicana
I finally pierced her ears and gave her the gold hoop earrings. I didnโt do a good job and the earrings look crooked but Iโm okay with it lol
Your girls are beautiful Susie and congrats on your incoming Zera @MrFjmg2003 she is lovely. I love the plaited wig on her Just leaving a photo by way of a contribution...Bella got some new eyes (Becky Art Studio on Etsy). Bella has smaller, rounder eye wells and I had nothing available that suited. Iplehouse Bella by LyanneNZ, on Flickr
The wig on carina is a monique "snooky" and on lahela, from a etsy seller in Russia about 4 years ago. thanks! Lovely Zera! That makeup is fierce. Bella...............oh how I love thee (sigh) So beautiful.
OT but thought I would poke my head in to say I would dearly love some new clothes from Iple. I haven't liked most of the new designs for the past couple of years and its just the same stuff. They have the ability to really wow with their talent but I feel like it's been so lacking. Most of my dolls are Iples (3 SD girls and two FID, a KID and two BIDs) and they're just the best.
I don't know what I would dress my dolls in if I didn't sew. I know what you mean and have just looked again. Their dolls are "fashion dolls" to me and they have body shapes (and foot shapes) that don't necessarily fit other lines' clothing (and shoes.) Iplehouse are still my favourites too but I am sad that there is not much new activity on their site. I don't think it would take much - even with existing sculpts just offering new face ups and wigs and an outfit here and there to bring new excitement. They have beautiful dolls and sculpts.
Am I going to regret posting this? Probably. Am I going to do it anyways? Yup. Iplehouse makes beautiful face sculpts. I still believe that they make some of the best face sculpts in the industry. BUT. It really feels like they are resting on their laurels. Fairyland just updated their Feeple65 body with the newest pre-order, and they made the "kill heel" feet for both the Feeple65 and the Minifee. I have the Minifee heel feet, and I love them. Many, many other companies are updating their bodies, releasing new face sculpts, and Iplehouse just... isn't. There are maybe one or two face sculpts I'm thinking I would like eventually, but I don't feel that "gotta have it!" feeling when looking at their website now. I've been collecting for five years, and I can tell you a lot of things they discontinued. Can't think of much they've done that's new. And maybe they don't feel they need to. They still regularly get orders (judging by the Q and A section of their website). But it still makes me sad. No innovation, no new outfits, just... the same stuff. I'm worried that they are going to stop selling clothing entirely, judging by the 30% off sale that feels like it's been going for at least half a year now.
I think they soft stopped selling clothing already. Except for two FID outfits, when was the last time they had anything new? They dropped some new old stock about a year ago, it seems they may have did a run of shoes about the same time (which might've also just been new old stock), and that's it. They did redesign the JID and SID female bodies not that long ago, so I don't know if they're resting entirely on their laurels, but I still see what you mean. The JID redesign would only be relevant to me in terms of practical clothing fitment reasons, and I don't like the newer SID body as much as the previous one. I really love the slightly thicker proportions of the previous SID body. I think the previous SID body is far more attractive and endearing. The lack of new face sculpts and clothes is a bit concerning with regards to Iplehouse going forward as an ongoing concern. I used to love checking out their website on the regular and seeing what beautiful new clothes I could get for my beloved dolls. It's nice they've got activity on their Q&A section, but I wonder how long that will last. I probably wouldn't bother with "kill heel" feet from Iplehouse. Maybe if they released a lot of shoes to justify it, but even then. I actually love, love, love my Dollmore Model Doll's high heel feet, which are higher than Iplehouse's feet, but her shoe collection is pretty much exclusively from Dollmore. I can't really just use any other shoes from any other companies, but that's not so bad because Dollmore has a wide variety of shoes for the feet. Can we as consumers believe that there will be a good selection of hypothetical higher heel shoes to go with hypothetical higher heel feet from Iplehouse?
Is anyone planning to order the red dahlia Mari nYID? I'd like the red Carmine outfit. Have messaged Iple to see if they will sell it to me separate. Would this be a split order? Has anyone done one of those before?
Totally fair point. I don't remember when they updated the JID body, and I think the nSID was... 2017? Judging by the unhappy commenter at the bottom, anyway. I recently got the new Impldoll 1/3 body and took a shot with the nYID body to compare the respective peach gold resins, and... yeah. One of them is showing their age. Impldoll Vilma x Iplehouse Mari Granted, if I want updated face sculpts, bodies, or beautiful outfits, I could buy Raccoondoll or SartoriaJ (two artists who left Iplehouse to start their own studios). And I'm so happy for both companies, because they make beautiful dolls! But I gots the nostalgia feelz. I wish Iplehouse would bring on someone to work on the bodies a bit...
Gosh, was the nSID that long ago? I guess I'm living in my own world, since I got my SID Eva in 2014. She's become my dolly world, and new developments be gosh darned It's funny, we were talking about the updated body at the doll meet last weekend, and none of us were talking about it as if it was that old I've been rather fortunate with resin, I guess. I'm partially colorblind, but people do compliment my dolls on how well their resin has held up. I stick with the most normal color, though. I guess that helps some. I've certainly admired Raccoondoll and SartoriaJ. Especially the latter. I haven't dabbled in getting clothes from them yet, but I hear they're a very good fit for Iplehouse dolls. They're so beautiful, too. I wish Iplehouse well in general. Most of my BJD collection is Iplehouse. They filled the niche for me that Volks wasn't filling with the sheer unavailability of SD16 for the longest time. I cherish all of my Iplehouse ladies and girls so much in their own unique ways They really mean a lot to me. I took my Eva to New York City last weekend. I love her so much
If I recall correctly, the people who made clothing for Iplehouse back in the day are the same people who split off to become Freedom Teller. Or they always were Freedom Teller and split off to sell from their own site. Something like that. When Iplehouse first came into existence in... I want to say 2005, they seemed to carry mostly furniture for BJDs. Then they started distributing Freedom Teller clothing. Then they designed Be Yearn and Soo Ri and it's been a wild ride ever since.
I do miss Iple's creativity and new offerings. It feels like the most productive and creative workers have moved on to other companies. I'm glad they are still around....it feels strange not to have ordered from them in a while.
If you don't plan on ordering a doll (or if you did recently) ask that they add that outfit to your current order, and ask for a PayPal invoice. If you want to buy the outfit by its self no other items, just ask them to add it to your cart, it will probably be a "custom order" that will appear in your cart. They have been pretty good at granting request about the outfits. You just have to ask
I've been an "Iple fan" since late 2012 and I think their best collection was the "Carved Heritage" series. I never saw SO many different sculpts, and outfits during that time. I am wiser now, and wish I would have bought several of those outfits as my taste now has gravitated toward more "fancy" outfits. So, thank you SartoriaJ for picking up Iple's slack in that dept.
