Iplehouse EID boy - Arvid

Well, I could resist no longer, LOL! I finally put my Arvid in lay a way. I figured since I knew I wanted the RS version for my character I might as well get him while I could put him in lay a way. Now the wait begins. Sigh..........

I'll be ordering him at the last minute in RS. Still debating on which body to get.

 

I don't see the point in buying him in NS if I dont want any extras with him if they're going to be releasing him in basic, other then I'd be able to get him faster. Someone help me and tell me if it makes more sense to order him in basic? I want the default face up but I'm sure I'll like it in basic. Those hands are limited right? Hm..maybe I could jump on a split and get the hands in NS -_-

 

I'm almost sure the hands will be released for all dolls, like Bichun's, Luo's, Evan's, Akando's, and Kamau's were. :3 Oh, and don't forget the Geta feet. ^^

If you need to wait, I wouldn't worry about missing out on anything but the face up, though they will increase the price. You can always commission someone to do the Arvid face up, though. :3

 

Congrats on more Arvids! The RS is what made me go ahead. He was just too yummy in that resin.

Angelguardian. I can't speak to poseablity if you have concerns there, but from an aesthetics perpective it may fall to what you envision for him. Are you lookign for a character? Do you have a specific personality in mind? I tend to do the later, and since I saw him in a historical vein I stuck with the model body (which still looks like a gym rat, but not as much as the muscle bod ). Ialso like the vein detail on the model body that's not really on the muscle bod. Knowing Iple, though, they'll come up with a SID/EID sculpt that says, yup, he needs the muscle bod, but not today. Fwiw, I got Barron, a YID, in the muscle version because I wanted him to look more young 20's than late teens.

Brit, I agree with Zenno. If you just want NS then I'd wait if it's better for your wallet. And the face up will just depend. Felix is the first one I've seen with such a shift from the natural tones to the darkly romantic red lips. And as she alludes to, if you don't like what they do, you may come off ahead commissioning your own face up later.

 

Well, the closer we are to the end of the sales period, the more anxious I am for not having ordered...I guess that tells me I shouldn't miss out on the boy... Too bad that I'm like Azha Nei, and seem to have developed a "financial conscience" somewhere in the last 4 months (since I started my first job). Hm but if I'm reeeeeally careful, I could get him on a layaway without touching my precious savings...and those clothes (and the gun!) were just made for me....decisions, decisions...(who am I kidding, I've already decided, I'm just delaying the inevitable )

Posable coat and pretty gun..here I come!

 

It's done....LOL....ordered a fullset Arvid....RS with superhero body....on 3 month layaway.

 

Smaug, if only I'd developed one when I got my first job. It's a good thing to have, truly. If it won't stress and, go for it. And don't touch your savings unless it's a doll fund. I've been slammed so with the resin hotness, I haven't had time to establish a sperate fund for hte habit, but I think (hope) to take a breather after the boys come in this spring and start one.

Congrats, Angel! Well, at least we know the Arvid gallery will be well stocked. I'm curious; did anyone get him in NS during the ltd period? I only recall RS and LB.

 

Well, after almost ordering the full set on the first day, I finally decided on just Arvid in RS. Of course I got the extra hands!

 

I ordered the mobility thighs on a whim and now after really stuiding more gallery photos I am having second thoughts. Does anyone know what poses they really make a difference with? I looked for a thread that might be helpful but couldn't find much.

I did. I figured he's going to be a pale cowboy next to my RS Ryan who'll be the Native American.
(Or not... I actually just felt like gettin him in NS.)

Btw, a wave to the character dolls. Looks like Angel has a Vincent (nice one from what I can see), and Brit, is that Vishous from the Black Dagger Brotherhood? I have the next book's ARC in my hands as we speak. All I'll say is he's one of the characters in the fore in this one. And don't worry. I'd asked Iple if there was going to be a basic of Arvid and they said yes, and as others have mentioned, the only dolls that haven't gotten a basic version have been the African-American sculpts. They've wound up on CDS.

 

Yep..I made my own Vishous doll from BDB. I planned on making Arvid into Butch. But only loosely based off of Butch.

 

Lace Princess: I have the joints and... They're a LITTLE wonky, but he can sit with his legs crossed and stuff, put his knees up some, but he can't curl up into a ball or anything. He's also extremely loose and not sueded, so that makes the joints a little hard to control when I'm dressing him and such.
If you get him and you end up not liking him, I'm sure there will be someone that would want to trade you :3

 

Cool. Always had a soft spot for Phury. Is there a full length photo of your V on the boards?

 

I can't wait to see owner pics of this guy, I think he is really interesting and would love to see the Full Set on him. Did anyone get the bullets too? I saw that they were seperate for sale on the website.
