I saw an Akando wearing those shoes. They seem to fit.

It is the most beautiful doll which I ever saw!! I'm in love!

 

I caved in... ... I had my Luo's sad eyebrows de-saddened.

Now he is pretty damn perfect!

Mmmm. Now this is the guy I expected to meet at the door. Being able to love the faceup, it makes all the difference. I think I got the wrong man at first.

Either way, it's one extremely exquisite sculpt. I confess that I don't really like him in short wigs-- I did try several short wigs on him, but none of them even lasted long enough for photos-- but that doesn't mean he doesn't look good in them, per se. The sculpt can stand up to many styles. But with short hair, he just looks like somebody else's Luo! ^^ I think it merely means that Radu here wants long hair, and will only put up with long hair. Some dolls are just picky like that.

On the Iplehouse.net free space recently, there's new photos of a seriously lifelike Luo-- with full body blushing, massively shaggy eyebrows, heavy stubble, & chest hair. He is pret~ty fabu! I'll be eager to see even more home faceups on him, see what else the sculpt can do.

 

You must meant this one. It's amazingly life-like. Reminds me of Dave Navarro.

Dave Navarro *om nom nom*. Somebody, do out your Luo with the fabulous black pointy facial hair... I'll be your frieeeeend.... Kiya, your wolfman will want some happenin' sideburns like that, right? Say you will, or I will commit puppy-eyes at you a second time.

 

He is fab, I'm constantly amazed at how a simple adustment can change their entire look and 'attitude'.

 

Okay, I've decided that for my first doll, I want a Luo. To all of you special Luo model owners out there, how well does he pose and any particulars to not be surprised about? Any quirks that the Luo bodies seem to have?

 

Cheezit: Since he has the same body as Akando and Evan, you can try going through their threads as well. :3 They've been around longer so they'll have a lot of body information already. I know one girl modded the hip area of her Akando because it kept getting in the way of the legs.

 

OOOOOla la. He is gorgeous. Wish he'd show up at my door!

 

Now that I have two EIDs, I am getting better at this.... My Akando arrived very tightly-strung, and then my Luo arrived very loosely-strung. It makes a world of difference in standing/posing!

If you want him to stand up, not have his feet flop around, and keep his knees from dislocating quite so easily = string him tight.
But if you want him to be able to sit better, bend more deeply, and lounge in more natural poses = string him loose.

If he's strung tight, his postures are a little more stiff, I guess because his limbs are so thick they don't stay in in-between positions naturally. But if he's strung loose, it's easier to get him into poses but it's harder to get him to hold the poses. Seems to be a trade-off! And I'm not sure which way I like better. ^^ Clearly, a lot more experimentation is needed.

Hot-gluing/ sueding would probably be a huge help, too. I'm not doing either to my boys, because I don't want to muck up or scratch their dark resin. But those of you who are getting WS/NS guys, please try it & report how it works!

• Don't be surprised about: Sitting up unattended. He's so top heavy, he will probably tip if you don't lean him against something. PamSD was the one who modded her Akando's hips so he can sit up better (check out the Akando thread for pix). Without that modification, he will be tippy.
  
• Practice with: Knee & elbow joints. Their mechanics are hard to describe. Best way to learn 'em is to play around with 'em. And take a firm hand when you do; EID's a big strong well-made doll, & you can muscle him around quite a bit.
  
• Also don't be surprised about: Finger-pinching. His joints will try to pinch the bejesus out of your delicate bits. And he is very strong. Mind your fingers.
  
• Beware: the gorgeousness. You will try to leave for work on time, but when you walk through the living-room you will get stuck staring at Luo, and the next thing you know it will be two hours later.

 

Woohooo!! My Strongman arrived today and man is he HEAVY! I know I've read they were heavy, and I thought I had prepared myself for their heft, but lugging him around is gonna be better than lifting free weights, LOL! Been trying wigs on him and all my JPOP 8/9's seem to fit him great. I think I need some practice getting used to his joints.........took me a moment to get the double joint in the elbow working. I do LOVE him though................what a body!!! Sigh...........And to those that say all male BJD's look feminine, they really need to take a look at this guy........nothing remotely feminine about him IMHO. Off to play a bit more............................or just stare at him for a bit, LOL!

 

I had a cat that was only 6 pounds, can't believe these guys are more than that!

Isn't he a load & a half? Better than free weights any day. Cuter, anyway.

 

XD Yeah. I did that on the first time I found him online. I can only imagine how much worse it'll be in person when I can hang onto him.

Also, how heavy has most of the models been thus far?

 

EIDs are just over 6 pounds. D: I can't even get mah little hand around his waist he's so wide.

 

Help with getting Luo to sit please? I read on the Iplehouse board that the extra "butt" plates were to help him to sit better...........my question is, how does that work? I haven't had much luck getting my guy to sit. I thought I would ask those with more experience in posing these guys.............suggestions?

On the upside, I really do love this guy................He really is resin perfection for me..........He finally got a few clothing pieces in...............naked? clothed? It's all good, LOL!
His face just slays me.......

 

: Oh J, he's so gorgeous!! Super-congrats on his arrival! What a beauty... He has the soft eyebrows... & I do like him in that tight shirt. And the soft wig. (Mine refuses to wear bangs.) It is such an incredible face.

Sitting is an issue. ;; I don't ask mine to sit up unassisted. Loose pants help, & so does tight stringing. And wedging something under his bum, so he won't tip so much. He's so top-heavy! Otherwise he just has to lean on something.

Or else mod his hipbones like Pam did on her Akando...

 

I tried several wigs on him, but when I put this one on it just seemed to be the perfect one for Khalid. I'ts amazing how different all their personalities are.............It will be interesting to see what kind of personality my SE Luo has when he arrives.

As far as sitting goes, He can just sit on the dolly couch when I want him to sit I guess, LOL! I just wondered if there was a trick to those extra "butt" plates to make him sit better because the Iple site seemed to imply there was. Maybe I should just pose a question about iton the Iple board............
