It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Iplehouse EID Tedros

Feb 4, 2010

    1. Well after dabating long and hard, I've decided that I've just got to bring him home. I never realised that Iplehouse do longer than 3 month layaway (for a fee of course). So, hopefully if I take out a four month one, I can have him :) But, I'll know for sure at the end of the month.

    2. EID's stand great and I've gotten them to sit in jeans depending on the chair. And that face is so wonderful.

    3. ...anyone know if the mobility thigh joint is worth it?...

[gah... I'm still not sure about ordering, but if I have to make a last-minute decision towards the end of the ordering period, I might as well have sorted stuff like this out!... have even been looking through EID clothes... *sigh* ... oh, I will really need to sell some stuff... and do I really want such a big doll??? agh...] *_*

    4. I'd like to know this too ie. is how it changes the aesthetic of the leg worth it for the poseability.

    5. Good for you, Bexii! You go girl! :thumbup

I swear, to bring this gorgeous boy home, I would have sold a body part!

    6. Mobility Thigh-Joint cheering squad over here! I love those things, & wouldn't order a doll without one if I didn't have to. It lets him rotate his leg to sit in natural poses, crosslegged or splaylegged; it lets him shift his weight while standing, turning his foot in or out; and the joint also 'dislocates' so that his leg can be brought closer to his body. (i.e., you can fake more natural/extreme bending poses, without having to totally dislocate his leg from his ass.)

However, it does disrupt the sculpture of his lovely thigh. I personally do not care, because ALL joints interrupt the sculpture lines; I would rather have more motion. But for others, a smooth thigh might be a higher prioirty.

So! Whether it's "worth it" is a matter of preference. If sculpture & aesthetic is more important to you = skip the mobility joint. If you don't care, or if movement is more important to you = get the mobility joint.

This shot looks freaky because I'm deliberately showing the insides of the joint-- but with his clothes on, of course, he doesn't look like he has a hideously broken leg. XD

When the joint's back together again, it just looks like a line:

(I did this extra-long body expo photoshoot last year, when EID was brand new & I was figuring out how to handle Bijan. Take an informational tour of his bod if you like:

    7. Jenny, I never tire of looking at that thread... you did an awesome job (and so did he)!

    8. The thigh joint is awsome for posing, but it does seem to make my Kamau slightly wobblier on his feet, and it has a habit of trying to eat his boxors...but by fel the seated positions it pulls look good!

    9. Hehe, thanks Olga ^.^ It's all in the name of education, right?

Salvagore, that used to happen with my Luo too - it gets better if you tighten his stringing. These guys have a ton of little moving parts, which need firm control, so loose stringing really doesn't let him sit or stand well.

(I do appreciate when they ship the colored-resin dolls strung loose, though; I've never yet received a tan Iple man who had transit-related joint scuffs or fractures. I hope my Tedros will be as luckily floppy too.)

    10. Ah, yes, those photos are always good to look at! Thanks, JennyNemesis. They have definitely made me totally check out all these EID guys... a LOT... heheh! So lovely! Oh, and yes, ...mobility joint, hmmm... decisions, decisions! :D

    11. I might just have to try that, actually! I have to agree on their shipping- my guy arrived perfectly. He's just so...daunting, to re-string. And his glare. Oh good lord that evil glare that makes me feel I shall be smited for I am not worthy to de-pants him. ;_;

Oh, I went on a tangent- apologies! So...how about them Tedros? :sweat

    12. Of course there will be pants. I have to clothe this guy somehow! :sweat

    13. I'm poor..and just trying my best to buy the Tedros..so Im gonna skip on the joint. I will be ordering my guy by the end of the month <3 Yay.

    14. Wow, Jenny, thanks for that. I've been wondering for some time about the mobility joints so it's great to see them in action for posing! I was worried they might take too much away from the general appearance from the leg which might negate any extra posing / manipulation that was possible, but now my mind is definately at ease there. And thanks to Bijan too :)

    15. When I showed him to my husband, he immediatedly broke out his swarthy spanish voice and said
"Hello, my name is Carlos, I shall make love to you!"
      *swoon*

NB: This is before I pointed out that his name is Tedros, which I had to laugh to how close Carlos is to Tedros.

    16. OH DUH!! :doh Well I feel like an idiot - wondered why his legs were so loose - but having never restrung a doll that never crossed my mind. My Jessica wasn't so loose, so I just thought it was Luo.

Never too old to learn something new!!

    17. I love this! :)

    18. Jenny, thanks for the pics and info on the mobility. I have always been curious about how well they pose as well as look. I think I'll be going for the mobi joint - I'm a stickler for mobility

originalcyn  He does give off a certain vibe, doesnt he? I showed my friend and she said that he looked like Indiana Jones crossed with An American Werewolf in London

    19. Might that werewolf be a Jacob Black by any chance?
Lol yeah...I'm so tempted to get one for myself after reading through all the threads on Tedros and EID men. But they're so BIG!

    20. He is simply wonderful and that outfit is fantastic. I did not care for the EID so far, but I fell hard for him. I hope I'll be able to order him on layaway at the beginning of march. I'm afraid my poor Luts wintery head has to stay bodyless for a while as his body funds will go towards Tedros......
