(jumping back a few comments here) wow, the Emma likeness is pretty striking! That makes it even more funny to me that she has a cat face/tail - anyone remember the spell gone wrong in the...second, I think, Harry Potter, that turned Hermione into a cat for a bit?

I'm sorry to hear you weren't well. I do hope you're feeling better now! Maybe a couple of Lunas will help? <g> I'm also all for seeing the new designs you're dreaming up. Aren't creative people fun? I've certainly never thought of doing stop-action doll movies, but it sounds like a lot of work that could also be a lot of fun.

It would be cool to see what you come up with for these queens and their birdy king. I mean, makes sense what you're saying, right? Bastet was sister to Horus, and wife to Ptah, right? Both her guys had bird aspects (falcon and stork), so there's a lot of territory to play with there! What's even better <g> is that she's grey, which -- if I'm remembering right -- was one of the colours used for Horus (grey and blue, I thought -- someone else around here will know for sure!).

In spite of the fact it's just interesting, I hope you don't slave too much, and recover first.

about Iplehouse's NCs, are they limited editions? as in once they're sold out, they won't be sold again?
because, even though i can't get any doll soon, i really like the NCs, especially Luna at the moment
so i just wanted to know, thx ^_^

 

paperdoll: Yes, once they are either sold out or their ordering period expires, you can only get them through the second hand market.

I can only assume that there will be certain limitations with the bigger breast when bending forward.
Oh, and I am also interested in finding out if the company does provide seam sanding services.

 

They haven't recommended that the realskin (general odd color) resins they make be sanded. I know they didn't recommend sanding the tans. I don't know if this is because of the color, or because of the french/standard resin blend they use for their special edition colors, however.

 

I am just popping my head back in here... I stopped following the thread a few pages in. I am so enamored with Luna, but I had just ordered a SSDF Abadon in a split when she was released, and I didn't know if I'd be able to get her. I haven't been this charmed by a doll since Soom released Beryl. Luna is dead-on perfect for one of my characters, down to the RG skin tone.

But... now that I've sold some dolly stuff to acquire more dolly funds, it looks like I will probably be able to get her after all!

I didn't notice the Emma Watson resemblance until it was posted... but now that you mention it, I totally see it!

I had the exact same thing happen to me! I placed my Abadon split order and then saw Luna literally just a few hours later, and there was much wailing. Luckily it worked out for both of us!

 

Gah! I so want to a Luna! Haven't wanted a girl doll this bad since DoD I-ra. Hopefully I can save up money for a layaway while the Tamer version is still available. Also I asked Iplehouse if they could show pics of her with their other skin tones, and they said they will.

 

It'll be neat to see the rose grey next to some of the other skin tones! I'll have to keep my eyes open for that. Has anyone asked Iple if they would let them buy both bust parts for an additional fee?

 

Oh no, my Luna is going to be Bast as well Here I thought I'd come up with something no one else would think of. Oh well, maybe I should go back to my original idea which was a Catwoman like character.

You could make one his sister the other their daughter. It was a common practice for Pharaohs to marry (or taking as concubines) all their female relatives, including their own daughters. This insured that the power would stay within the royal family. If a daughter married outside of the royal family, her husband could rightfully lay claim to the throne, become the next Pharaoh and start a new dynasty.

Well, after I saw how many people named their Beryls and Glots Lilith, I decided to try to come up with unique names from now on. Lilith couldn't be avoided since she is based on my original character who is based on the real(?) Lilith. Luna isn't based on any character, so I have freedom to change the name. Hope this makes sense.

 

I had the character for Luna clear the moment I first saw her.
She is Shade, the twilight guardian, the one who comes with the evening shadows...
