1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Iplehouse EID Woman Luna

Sep 18, 2009

    1. Hmm... maybe they meant to type $107 or $129 but mistyped? It does seem odd. I'm getting close to reaching my goal and placing my order (probably on Friday) and I'm still waffling over the mobility joint issue. :|

On the one hand, I love having added articulation and flexibility (I am all about the double-jointed elbows and knees)... but on the other hand I've been burned before with a doll in a limited resin color that absolutely will not stand without a painful amount of fiddling. (An old Latidoll tan boy). I can't upgrade him to a newer body because of his resin color, so I'm stuck with a doll who really likes to sit. :sweat

Sooo... flexibility or stability? I just can't decide! *_* $109 extra is an added fee I can't afford, so I'll have to decide one way or the other soon!

    2. I don't have any of the EID girls, but the EID boys with mobility joints are pretty stable, if that helps? Maybe one of the EID girl owners will chime in about that. :) (Their thighs aren't the hugeness of the men's, so I could see it varying.)

    3. Have you tried IH's mobility joint before? If not, IH themselves suggest that you choose the general joint.

(Quote is from Lt Cocori- Swan Lake product page. Dated since they no longer offer mobility joints for YID.)

It costs less, so there's that benefit too. Apply the $20 toward some extra clothes!

    4. I haven't used Iplehouse's, but I have a couple of other dolls with variations on mobility joints (a Soulkid-double girl, a Soom Glot, and that extra piece inside the Minifee B-line body)... I have a friend who used the old-style YID joints and disliked them, but that was before the current style of mobility joint.

I also used to have one of the original Domuya Flexibody dolls... and hoo-boy, that was an interesting experience... I also have one of the larger hooved Soom dolls, which can be pretty tricky to balance sometimes without getting joints popping out at just the wrong time. :sweat

I think at this point I'm leaning toward the $20 savings and just getting the general joint... just in case. Between the two extreme "worst-case scenarios", I'd rather have a doll who can stand solidly but may not be able to cross her legs, than a doll who can cross her legs but whose joints can collapse when trying to stand her.

    5. I have the mobility join on my Evan and while it's not annoying, I don't miss having it on my Luo. So when I ordered my Luna this morning, I decided against it mostly because I want her to have nice smooth legs.

    6. I see owner and IH photos of Jessica sitting in a chair with her legs crossed with the smooth joint. From what I understand the mobility joint is for more acute poses, like sitting crossed-legged in a meditation position. My cat woman wants to move as much as possible, so I figure why not give it a try.

      ;)

    7. I decided to take my Akando out and play with his mobility joints. I'm waffling over the mobility joints on Luna because I am unsure about them on the female and how they look. I must have missed some photos of Jessica!

Basically his leg can move a bit closer towards his chest, but not that close. And I tried to twist the leg from the hip, but I'm not having much luck without twisting the mobility joint. I think Luna could make some cute poses with the mobility joint, but you sacrifice a smooth line if she's wearing less clothing (the big point for the female body vs. male for me).

I'll need to hunt down some mobility Jessica photos now..

oh and Yes, I thought over $100 was a bit too much for just thighs, but it's a lot of resin and in rose gray I guess.

    8. THIS.

    9. I think since the mobility legs only cost an extra $20 to add to your order (because it's two parts, two molds instead of one) asking $120+ for an extra set of thighs is a bit much. It's only gonna be about $20 worth of resin, and if you're already buying a full doll, it wouldn't cost them that much extra time or effort to add extra thighs.

Anyone asked how much for an extra chest piece in the either size?

    10. I thought about it, I should have. Do you think they just threw numbers at me? Maybe someone else should ask about the thighs again.. *_* I'm curious about the breasts now as well. I love how the medium size ones fall, but I love how the big ones look in clothing. darn.

    11. My Luna will was ordered with mobility joints. From my experience, just getting these big dolls to stand up is frustrating without that joint. I found I need it for balance. Maybe others who are better at posing don't have that problem. She may look better without that joint, but aesthetics loses out on this option for my gal.

Yesterday, I asked Iplehouse if I could see Luna's gray skin color in other outfits besides the black "cat suit". Today I find photos of her in various outfits in the Gallery section of their web site. Link: http://iplehouse.net/board/view.php?board_name=DREAMBOARD10&choose2=&choose1=&pagenow=1&CB=&ID=44 What service!
I love her with the red hair and blue eyes. Looks like she was modeled with medium size breasts in all of the outfits and she looks great.

    12. Luna looks fabulous in contemporary clothes! and, the medium bust is very realistic. Her resin color gives her more versatility IMO. She can be a fantasy character or just an average (hah!) girl.

    13. *dies*
...apparently, Iplehouse is in my brain. D=
...because the other day, when I was looking at the outfits, I decided the only outfit that my character Sunset (who I will be waiting on a standard white skin Luna release for) would wear (aside from the cargo pants) would be that plaid shirt outfit...and Sunset has red hair and blue-green eyes. o___o
If I wasn't already sold on the sculpt, that would have done it. XD
...and if the wig had also been in pigtails...I would be putting on the tinfoil hat now....
      XDDD

    14. She's wearing the large bust in those photos, right?
(For me it's confusing - she must have the medium bust in the plaid shirt photos?)

and wow acanthiel, they really are mind readers!

    15. I asked if they would sell the extra chest piece separately if I bought Luna and they said no. They said that all the clothes would fit either chest piece so not to worry. So now I still have to decide which one to get. I was hoping I wouldn't have to make that decision.

    16. You'll be staring at boobs for the rest of the day.. I know it. Been there. (I mean looking at the Iplehouse Gallery comparisons of course!)

    17. Can you buy Luna on layaway? I don't see that option anywhere on their site.
      Thanks!

    18. Yes you can. I and several others have a Luna on layaway right now. Info
on it is listed on the FAQ section of their site.

    19. Anyone else tried ordering Luna today? I just tried to order her and all I get is a white page with Japanese letters in the upper left of the screen. I even tried logging in first and get the same thing. Ahhhh---I wanted to place the order tonight!

    20. I ordered her this morning, but the other day I put her in my cart to calculate shipping, and got that white screen too. It might be they're doing maintenance to the site at certain times of day. Try again later, hope it works for you!
